Just returned from a wonderful stay at the BCV. We were in room 410, a 1BR overlooking the Dunes Cove Pool. I had requested non-smoking pool view, and we got it! It was so close to the elevators, and we were thrilled to see the monorail go by from the Master BR balcony! I found the a/c to be fine, and the water pressure fine as well--oh, no bugs either! Prior to becoming DVC members, we had only stayed on the YC side, which honestly, I still prefer, but I adore the resort, and it's wonderful location.

One negative, which is by no means a big deal, but I found the the DVC rep at the BCV Open House to be extremely RUDE! I had asked if they had any Member Day pins (we missed the barbecue the night before) and she was downright mean! All she had to say was that they only gave them out on Member Day, which is FINE! But man! She was rude about it! She was actually training someone too! I encountered this same woman right after we bought in 2001. We went to tour the VWL, and once she found out we were already members, she was abrupt. Now, of course she is the only DVC guide to ever treat me like this, all the others are great. It bothered me a little, but I got over it! ;)

What's her name? I'd like to avoid her. You can send it privately.

So glad you had a great trip, and I am sorry you had to deal with someone like that. Can't wait till its our time to go.

Hi,

Glad you had a good time!!! Sorry you had to deal with a bad guide!!! Hopefully it won't happen again.

Can you believe I did not get her name? I am kicking myself now. She was sitting closest to the sliders, and the (poor) person she was training was at the table. I went into the room as far as the table, and after listening to her I just signed in and left. She is an older woman, with whiteish-blonde hair.

I had the misfortune to meet that same guide once at the open house at BCV. I also thought she was extrememly rude, but thought it was just something about me that she disliked. Although it's too bad to meet someone like that, now I don't feel bad that I'd done something unknowlingly to tick her off.

Sad to say but I, too, know who you are talking about. We ran into her a few weeks ago while we were down there. I am hoping she will not be there next week when I take my DSs there!!!

We met this cranky lady too. Went to tour the open room and she was really fussy with my kids. They were very active and excited about looking everything over and she really made me feel like we were NOT welcome! I never would have let the kids be destructive and she made me feel pretty bad about being there at all. This lady needs a job AWAY from the public! Her attitude stands out because everyone else you meet thru DVC is SO nice...

How could all of you have encountered this crab and not one got her name?

Oh my gosh, Colleen! That is EXACTLY how she made us feel when we toured the VWL! Our kids were 14 & 11 at the time, and she made us feel unwelcome--plus, we had just become members 2 months earlier! Good thing we were seasoned Disney vets, and although we were new members to DVC we knew she did not represent the majority of the guides. I left a voice mail for my guide ths morning, and am eager to hear if she calls back. If she does, (and she is so wonderful, I will be shocked if she does not) I am going to let her know about the the responses have received regarding this woman. I know the date & approx. time I visited the open house, so I am sure they can track her down!

Corinne, this lady actually took me aside and said something like "I tell the kids that this room is MINE, and not theirs to do as they please. This helps them behave better and not just run around and touch everything." I was kinda shocked, like "Gee thanks for the parenting advice," but later I just thought it through and figured that she is just whacky -- that room IS NOT hers, it's a model! For goodness sake... She guards that room like it's her personal possession or something... GET A LIFE!

Who hired this nut? Maybe she is Michael Eisner's aunt or something! :)

Haha! Maybe! I am just so floored that others have had similar experiences as I had. I am really wanting to speak to my guide now!

So glad to here you had a wonderful trip to BCV. We were just there about three weeks ago. We were in room 368, with a pool view, which we had requested and got it. We also had a great time. So sorry to here you ran into someone rude though.

I was at the BCV last January, before we bought, and she was at the table. I asked if they did tours of the rooms and she asked why. I stated that this was our second trip in the year and we were thinking of buying DVC. SHe looked at me and told me I was stupid if I didn't and then walked away. I was so shocked my DH and I almost decided against buying. If it wasn't for the guide we have we wouldn't have bought.

She needs to be fired ar moved to a non-guest contact position

Wow, didn't know BCV had any monorail views...
That would thrill the kids.
Are there any of these views in the studios?
I've never heard this before.

Don't know if it is the same woman, but just last Tuesday at Member Day I took my parents inside the models at BCV to see what we bought. There was an older lady there who rubbed me the wrong way. Had a slight attitude about me signing in and then told me I could have only one BCV pin, not any more. No problem, wasn't planning on taking any more, don't know why she shared that with me in such a rude way. I didn't even notice the basket of pins until she pointed it out to me. No biggie, haven't thought about it again until now. Just funny cause I wonder if this is the same woman!

Hi Shan:

I have no doubt in my mind that it is her. As far as the monorail--I have never heard anybody mention it before either! Only from our MBR balcony could we see it. There was a small stretch of monorail track visible. It really was kind of cool :)

I encountered this woman at the BCV model and she had a real attitude problem.

This woman obviously doesn't reflect the Disney philosophy. Those of you that had a run in with her might want to figure out how to get this info to the "powers that be". I am sure that if they find out that she has a pattern of rudeness, they would do something about her, fast. The last place they would want her is in sales!
