WOW Was it crowded! I went last October and the parks were deserted. We arrived on Sunday and checked in at noon to the POFQ. We were told that our rooms were not ready so we went to the pool. We kept calling every half hour and at 3:30 were told that it would be a while before our room was ready?! I asked why and she said they were shampooing the carpets!!! I of course thought the worst...soemone got sick in there or there was an incident in there. They said it is normal maintenance and we can't go in until the carpet is dry! I asked for another room and they said they were completely booked and there were no more connecting rooms.
We finally got into our room at about 5pm. We had dinner reservations at Chef Mickeys at 5:40 so we had to leave right away. My mom had her luggage in her room but mine was no where to be found. I called luggage and they said that it will get there when it gets there and they have over 200 bags to sort through. I said I landed at 10 and my kids are in wet bathing suit and we have to get to dinner. They said they would try to find the luggage. My husband had to walk down to the luggage area to find our bags...We finally got it 15 minutes later...
The buses were FULL...We went to MK on Mon Oct 22 which was packed. The EMH was even worse. We went to Animal Kingdom on Tues which was OK. Not too bad. Tuesday night MNNSHP was packed. Wed we went to MGM which wasn't that bad and Thursday we went back to MK which wasn't as crowded as Monday until about 4pm when the MNNSHP people started coming in. I don't know why they laet party people in 3 hours early. I paid for the day until 7pm and the park becomes sooo crowded after 4 from the MNNSHP guests. We went on Dumbo at about 6:55 and after that I went to bring my 3 & 6 year olds to the bathroom next to Ariels grotto and the cast member said I needed a bracelet. I told her we just got off the ride and my little one was about to wet her pants and she told me basically too bad that I had to use the one a t the front of the park. My 3 year old started to cry and I begged her to use the bathroom and she said "NO". I was in shock! So I went towards main street as fast as I could and tried to use the bathroom next to Caseys and I was stopped there as well. So I went into one of the shops to cut through to Caseys and I was told I couldn't enter the shop without a wristband. I explained to her what was happening as my little one was now leaking (she is newly potty trained). She finally let me through. After that I promised the girls they could get something on Main street as a souvenir and pick out something in the confectionary shop with my 5 snack credits left and I was told that I could not enter the sore or purchase anything without a wristband! I was clearly on my way out of the park. I was told to go to Downtown Disney if I wanted a candy shop! I am confused on why party guests can enter at 4pm and non party guests have to be totally out of the park by 7pm. I can ride the rides until 7pm so how would I get out by then. It takes 15 minutes just to get out of the park.
I had a great time but I was pretty upset that Disney advertises the "Wonderful Weeks of Disney" in OCtober with lighter crowds and beautiful weather. Well it was packed and the weather was hot and rainy all week!
I will def go a different time of year next time...and I only saw a handful of people with dream ears or dream fastpasses. I didn't "see" the dream squad at all!
Sorry so long I had to vent a little!
