Just Back And Now Converts!!!

My family and I, me(32), DH(46), DD(9), DD(7), and DS(4) visited US/IOA during Dec. 18-23. We stayed at Royal Pacific Resort and absolutely LOVED it. We got a great rate (119) and also used the Mastercard buy five for four deal. Sat. and Sun., the parks were so empty, but even as they got crowded, with FOTL we were able to do everything! I'll go into detail in trip reports, but briefly,
what we did: everything but Dr. Doom's Freefall
what we saw: all the shows(we especially loved Beetlejuice and the Ghostbusters show); we LOVED Grinchmas and we saw the Macy's Parade twice
where we ate: NBA City(gross), Hard Rock Cafe(GREAT!), Margarittaville's(great!), Latin Quarter(WONDERFUL!), International Food and Film Festival(ok), Finnigan's(EXCELLENT!), Crescent Moon Bakery(I think that's it)---this was a great breakfast spot, and Circus McGurkus(0k)

DH loved being able to just stroll over to the parks, and we enjoyed the numerous dining choices. Plus, the refillable mugs in the park is AWESOME! Anyway, we are plotting our next trip. I can't believe we were so close to such fun during all our Disney trips and never ventured over!

Yep, that's how it starts . . . we're now either beginning or ending every trip to Fla with a stay at US - maybe that's why so few room rate discounts are being offered for next year - the 'secret' is out !!! I think they need to get started on another resort !

I am so glad you had a great time. I am amazed when people say they went to Universal 5 years ago and will never go back again. They just don't realize how much Universal/IoA has improved and FOTL can't be beat.

RP is a beautiful resort. you ate at some of our favorites. now keep the secret to yourselves. UO had an increase in attendance by about 15% this year. that's enough for me.

It has amazed me lately to see all the people who have converted to Universal fanatics (me included). How wonderful that you enjoyed your stay. I too cannot wait to head back to IOA and USO! Only 1 1/2 years to go for me.

Everyone talks about how Disney has such theming, and about how you just can't get that Disney feeling anywhere else. I guess I don't agree. I feel IOA especially has such a mysterious, exciting atmosphere, it is something that just cannot be found at Disney. Can't wait to go back!
