We are back from a 6 night stay for our 4th stay at blt which we stayed in a 2 bedroom magic kingdom view. Once again staying at BLT was great with short walks and monorail trips to the parks and plenty of swimming which dd4 and dd 9 mos loved especialy the slides and the we loved the drinks. The one word to sum up our trip is HOT, it was hot n humid for the entire week. We followed a simple plan of parks around opening till 12pm or 1pm naps til 4 ish, swimming to 5 and to a park for night. We wanna thank everyone who helped by always being helpful and informative with any questions we have asked. The crowds were not too bad packed in a little bit on Thursday and especially Friday because there were loads of local school who had day trips but it emptied out at night. Trust me this is our 20 plus dvc trip and learn and use new info we learn each time.
Here are the Pro's:
Location of BLT always great
Monorail and the pool were wonderful
Everyone loved spectromagic
Night time movies outside were great
Rented sea raycers and they were fn and not to expensive DD4 loved it
Babyswap worked great for us
The View (not a big view person)
Southwest now part of baggage check in
A few Cons
Beat up furntiure (table, sofa, carpet, and microwave had food in it)
Chef Mickeys food was disgusting for both breakfast and dinner
The sun...lol

we are going to BLT in Oct. I am looking forward to being so close to MK and the monorail. we have chef mickey's booked but I am not a huge fan of it, my husband likes it though and since we were staying there we figured we should go. we have a studio in BLT which I heard was small, but it is just dh, ds 6, ds 3 and me so I think we will be ok this trip. i am so excited, I can't wait.

we own at BLT and still have not stayed there! we keep inviting people who just say "we gotta do the animal hotel". DW and I need to learn to just go ourselves and stay at BLT!

We too just returned from a 6 night stay at BLT (first time). We had a 1 bedroom and agree -- it was HOT! We also agree that we were amazed at the condition of the room already. The sofa had drinks ring marks all over the arms and the carpet was worn out, esp. where it meets the kitchen and bathroom floors (I kept stepping on sharp edges). Our air conditioner went out on day 2 and it took until day 3 to get it replaced and running again. We also did not have a blind up on the door and did not realize we were suppose to until day 2. I noticed everyone had one except us and that is why the grand kids were up and running around at 7:00AM when the sun light was shining in. It took until day 4 to finally get one after several phone calls and talking with the manager.

Our pros:
location
lots of parking
laundry room
food court area
extra bathroom
love the larger table and seating in dining area
the computer set up in the master bedroom (my wireless router worked perfectly)
Outside Movies was an unexpected extra
Our cons:
cheap furniture and cabinets
pool too small for this resort and very crowded in the afternoon
Housekeeping needs to work better to understand how DVC works -- we got 2 T&T days during our 6 day stay. Nothing replenished -- I guess we're spoiled that BCV and BWV always replenishes the coffee and detergent.

Glad you enjoyed BLT.

May 1 - early October is our Disney-free period. It's just too hot and/or humid for us to enjoy a stay at WDW.

Now, DLR, that can be pretty nice all year round, compared to Orlando.

You mentioned the movies outside at night...are they at BLT or the Contep. and where do they happen at?

Thanks!

The movies are on an inflattable screen starting at 830 pm in between the contemp and blt outside on the lawn where there are about 50 small lawn chairs. We watched Up 1 night and turned around and watched wishes from the same spot.

Again I am really getting bummed out about our recent purchases at BLT! All I keep hearing is the less then average quality of furniture and bad lay outs for the studios!

We returned about 3 weeks ago ,It was our first stay at BLT
We had a one bedroom lake view on the 14th floor -
The view was wonderful -but the furniture was less then average quality ,I am assuming since it was already showing so much wear -I really liked the master bed as far as comfort but (jmo)
The walk to the MK was really nice and on the rainy day the monorail was great to visit the other resorts and eat -
The pool area was crowded but the contemporary pool was dead -
We did a couple nice activities at the CH and my kids liked the ping pong and shuffle board
We really liked the location -
All in all I am glad this is where we purchased -
Although I am a concerned how they will upkeep the place in the future -

Laura

We had stayed at BLT in October and even then the furniture was gouged. The black laquer also showed a lot of dust. Not a fan of the furniture, but loved most everything else. I was very worried about the studio bathroom setup but it ended up not being an issue. I blew my hair dry in the bedroom mirror so didn't get hair in the coffee!
