Just back - 8/16-8/20

Arrived home at 12:30 from another magical stay in Disney. We enjoy the 1 hr 20 min drive from WDW to our new Tampa home!

Room 2645 - corner room with a great view of Barefoot Bay - a free upgrade to waterview - whoo hoo! Room in good shape and right next to Old Port Royale and the Old Port Royale bus stop. Clean room. GREAT mousekeeping! Quiet neighbors!!

Enjoyed a good meal at Shutters. A little pricey, but good food. The Old Port Royale food court has never been my favorite. It is pricey and the food is just so-so, in my opinion.

The kids loved the quiet pool - they said the main pool was very crowded. Also enjoyed walking around the resort. A lovely resort - although quite spread out and big!

Don't hesitate to recommend this resort to families - a good value for the $$$.

What was the pool like ?

We're leaving on Sat. for our first summer trip ever to WDW and are starting to get nervous over the crowds situation. We are used to going when the parks are basically empty; early Dec. and March in between Presidents weekend and Easter. I think its going to be a shock to our systems. Any advice?

My Advice: Have fun. I was down during July and it was incredibly crowded (on July 4th there were 75k people in MK). The following Saturday there were 45k people. Just go with the flow, use the FASTPASS and have a great time ......you're paying for it

I know that all of the hours in the parks drop next week so this is obviously the last big week of the summer. By next week most of the Florida kiddies (including college) will be back in school. One of the bus drivers said that it will become very slow - so be heartened! Definitely utilize the Surprise Mornings. Definitely think out your Fast Pass strategy. Best of all - relax and enjoy! Even though the "world" was crowded we had a great vacation!
