We just got back last night we were in the Hawaii building third floor room 3522 which was 3/4 of the way down the hall from the lounge. The staff was excellent we even got 3 towel animals and on the days we didn't we got little things like bow ties in the bathroom. The food was excellent, and both the volcano pool and quite pool were great. The ducks and rabbits were all over the place which made my children very happy to see each day. The Conceirge staff was excellent we had to go to urgent care with our 4 year old who had an ear infection, strep throat and the same virus that is going around on the cruise ships, I've never seen her that sick in her life but she did smile when we got back the staff gave her a bunch of balloons all tied together, so we spend the last 4 days of our trip in our room, the only good thing was that our 7 yr old didn't start with the virus until we got home last night she is quite sick today, and I'm hoping my DH and I don't get it but other than that what time we had at the parks was great, any further questions please ask and I will try to answer.

Welcome Home:wave:

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry to hear about your DD's illness. Is your 4 year old doing better now? I wish your 7 year old a speedy recovery. Here's some pixie dust for the girls and hoping you and DH stay healthy ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Did you enjoy your room? How was the lounge and food offerings? No need to answer right away as I'm sure you have your hands full with taking care of DD and unpacking. When you have time I would love to hear more details about the Poly. Our stay is creeping ever closer and we can't wait to be at the Poly Conceirge.:D

Take care and again I hope your little ones feel better soon.

Welcome back Shelby 2001! We were neighbors! We just got back last night. Stayed in 3516. Agree with you on everything. I never had a desire to stay at the Poly, but it knocked my socks off! Only negative was we had requested non-smoking. Our room was fine, but couldn't believe how strong the odor was in the hall at times. We had such a wonderful view of the castle we didn't put up a fuss.

Also, we spent first two nights at BC Concierge. Although the service and food were wonderful, the room was the size of a closet for five people (2 adults-3 teens). We had to physically move the table and chairs to get to the balcony door and it only had double beds. Our water view was all trees...couldn't see one drop of water.

Soccermom we were neighbors I bet we ran into each other at least once and didn't even know it.

The food offerings were very good, but on Monday night when they serve the sushi watch out for the green Wasabi it is so hot it will clean out any sinus infection you may have, but we were never hungry and always found the food at night along with the desserts from 8-10 to be enough and the breakfast was great, bagels, danish, cereals, oatmeal with brown sugar fresh fruit water and really good strong coffee and the cookies in the afternoon were really good too. As I said before we were never hungry you should be very pleased.

Shelby2001: Thanks for reporting...we're staying GV concierge from Dec. 19-25 after our Wonder cruise. My hubby and I are looking forward to sushi night...thanks for the wasabi tip!

Soccermom: Why didn't you receive a non-smoking room? Were they full? We requested non-smoking and hopefully will get it, as we really hate the smell.

chucknrita - I don't know why we didn't, it had been requested, but we did arrive on Thanksgiving Day. Maybe they didn't have it. We never really checked it out because the room itself was free of the smoke smell and the view was so wonderful we were afraid to give it up. They vacuumed the halls everyday with a very heavy scent to get rid of it/mask it, which made it better, but there were times when it was pretty bad.

Thanks for the info.

Glad you had a nice trip, but sorry about your kids. And, I hope you and DH don't get it:D

shelby-

Did you spend much money on food outside the hotel or was the concierge the majority of your eating? My 5 YO is a "picker" at best and sometimes it is such a waste to take him to a restaurant. I was just wondering how fulfilling the food was for the kids? I realize the youngest probably wasn't eating a whole lot of anything. So sorry to hear that she was sick.

Were you tired of the resort after 10 days? We usually split between 2 resorts for a change of scenery. I was planning on the YC in January but now that SAB is going to be under rehab I switched to the BWI for 4 nights. Part of me thinks I should just say let's stay at the Poly the whole time. What do you think?

We only went to one restaurant when we were there with the kids you are correct it is a waste to pay $10.00 and they eat nothing, in the lounge they were very happy there was always something for them for breakfast, with the fruit and cereal, and my 7ry old even ate a danish or bagel at night there was always peanut butter and jelly fruit and everyother night they had a different type of sandwich such as turkey and cheese or ham & cheese and tuna one night, they ate the chicken lo-mein one night and the ceasar salad with the chicken another night so yes they were always full and then between 8 and 10 pm they would eat apple tarts, strawberry shortcake, cookies so you should be fine with a picky eater. Yes 10 days was long at the resort but that was only because we were in the room so much of the time, I was tired of the room itself not the resort.

Wow! We just missed ya'll by one day!
(we left on the 24th after staying 6 nights in 3506.)

The Poly concierge cannot be beat....GV or LV.

The food, the service, the location.....just wonderful!

Cannot wait to do it again next year!

Thanks for your trip report!:bounce:

Shelby-

Thanks for the reply. I hope your entire family is on the mend. It's too bad that you had to spend more time in the room than you would have liked. It's nice to hear that the staff try to make your little one feel a bit better.
