Just appetizers?

Hi,

My favorite part of a meal at a nice restaurant is usually the appetizers - has anyone ever gone into the nice restaurants at WDW and JUST ordered appetizers? How did this go over with the staff? I think I'd really love to do this!

I had no problems at Jiko in Animal Kingdom lodge. We did a sampler of apps and a sampler of deserts.

My family has been the California Grill for dinner and did not order entrees, with the exeption of our DS, who ordered a kids meal. DH and I ordered 3 appetizers between us, wine and 2 desserts. We did not feel out of place doing so, and we had excellent service from our waiter, who did not seem thrown by our odd eating habits in the least. When we ordered, we told him that we just were in the mood for something light that evening, and he was great about making suggestions for our appetizers and wine. Sometimes we just like to nibble, but want it to be good food. I would encourage you to eat how you would like to eat when at WDW!

DS(13) and I often just order several appetizers and a salad/soup and dessert. Have never, ever had any problem. The staff are accustomed to all kinds of requests. Go for it! Its your vacation and as long as you are remembering to tip then who can complain? Its Disney, everyone wants you to have fun.

As a solo, I've done this several times in nicer resturaunts, ordered two appetizers and dessert. The entrees tend to be too big for just one person.

I use to do this at Le Cellier when crab cakes was an appetizer. I ordered salad, crab cakes and side veggie.
I have ordered appetizers at a few restaruants and the CM server never seemed to think it was odd.

We went to Sci-Fi just for dessert and didn't get any attitude. Don't think appetizers would be a problem.

I'm so happy to hear nothing but 'yesses'! Frankly, after tromping around all day, sometimes just a salad or savory little something is nice, and it will give me a chance to see some of the restaurants which I may not have been able to see before.

i'm glad that you are able to order just appetizers and dessert i really want to eat at CG but the menu don't do anything for me(yes i am very picky)so this would be good for me my dh on the other hand would be ordering the whole works as he eats absolutly everything
