Jungle Cruise Movie

I think Whoopi Goldberg should be the skipper. That way we can all look forward to the Whoopi AA.

A couple of other adaptions I would like to see:

1) Splash Mountain - I would like to see how they spin this.

2) Hall of Presidents - Just like the attraction, but 3 hours long - a true historical epic.

3) County Bears - I know they already did one, but since no one saw it I figure they could give it another shot.

When I heard the were doing a movie based on PoC, I thought "Disney's nuts, that'll be stupid".

Then it came out, and the only real similarities were that there were pirates, and a couple of the scenes from the ride were mimiced in the film (the dog with the key, the drunk pirate on the tipping barrels). Otherwise, the movie was completely unrelated.

I don't understand why they can't pull off a comedy/adventure based in a rain forest river, and throw in a few of the cheesy jokes from the ride ("LOOK JOE!!!!", "what is it fredo?", "IT'S THE BACK SIDE OF WATER!!!!", "Fredo, I'm going to kill you now")

I also thought Titanic was going to be stupid because the movie took longer to watch than the ship took to sink. (Ok, so I was right, except for the part where Leo died, the movie wasn't my cup of tea)

Let's see what they come up with. Nobody believed the kid making the sci-fi movie for $10 million was going the be successful either (that was Lucas and Star Wars if you missed that).

Once they have a likeable character and a blockbuster story then they could incorporate the animatronic character into the scenes of the ride.

If they do I'll never go on it again (and I'll be able to skip adventurland all together)

Why? It's likely that if they do the mivie that they will incorporate the mivie into the ride. You must been one of those that hated the PoC update.

What, no Tiki Birds?

Why did the updates subtract from POTC. I've heard only good things about, even from the usual pessimists on these boards.

WDW Pirates already blows, so who cares. Now, at the real Pirates in Disneyland, the new overlays are generally OK, I wouldn't say they were super awesome improvments, they were nice, With the exception of Davy Jones, they didn't ruin it. I wouldn't skip the ride because of any of it.

It didn't subtract anything.
Also Tikibirds:Under new Management is worse then Hitler. (yeah I went there!)

EUROPACL, What an impressive list of crud with a few nuggets of not suck in there.

And people wonder why the pessimists are pessimists. No amount of pixiedust could make me think that was a comendeble set of films.

Well, I've never been to DL so I have only been on the WDW version which is one of my favorites, probaly #2 or 3 on my list, but it may "blow" comparied to the original, and from what I understand considerably longer, DL version. I was happy to hear about the improvements and additions, but I can understand about Davy, I havent seen the second movie yet but from the clips I've seen of him I think Davy looks stupid.

Just to add, if you are going to Adventure Land just for JC... well nevermind...

what else is there? the flying carpets? :rotfl:

The new story gets very tangeled up in the old one-two stories are going at once. Jack in the treasure scene doesn't even sound like him. For people who haven't seen the movie (i'm not one of those people) the new attraction will be very confusing. Also, why does Barbossa want to capture Jack, and how come Barbossa never shows up again?

I don't get your point. Half those movies were very successful and quite a few were critical successes as well.

I'd like to see the list of movies from other studios in that same time period. Lord knows they've all put out some bona fide P.O.S.'s.

a. if anyone would hate the Pirates updates it would be you and you didn't, b. I was kidding about the Tiki Birds, c. The Pirate movies were fun and I didn't take any pixie dust, but you could use some.

Your idea of successful and mine must differ. I see at most 4 movies on that list that "could be called successful". I could care less what other crap movies the other studios put out. I don't pay money or waste time to see those either , just like the list of stinkers I posted from Disney. I don't really see how claiming that other studios put out crap lets Disney off the hook anyway. Isn't that the same excuse as "well everybody else was doing it why can't I" ?? That list of movies just screams we coiuld care less if we make a movie the public wants to see so why bother trying to make anything good.

...btw that list is not really complete it was just copied I know there are other gems left out like Reign of Fire, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Alamo, Bad Company ....

My thoughts exactly! Remember when Disney set the standard and didn't just try to do what ever everybody else was doing? And I'm talking about alot more than just movie making!

FYI – The current buzz is that Disney is hiring a pair of writers from the TV series ‘Smallville’ to write this movie – Miles Millar and Alfred Gough. Previously for Disney they wrote Shanghai Noon and Herbie Fully Loaded.

And for all you ‘Entourage’ fans out their, they also created the now abandoned ‘Aquaman’ pilot for Warner as well. Other non-Disney work includes writing an unused draft for Spider-man 2 (about 40% of the writers in Hollywood did as well) and various uninteresting TV-work.

P.S. - This movie will only be worth it if there's a scene where Lindsay Lohan is devoured by a school of piranha.

I don't think there is enough meat left oN those bones for the piranha. Besides I'm sure that PETA would have a hissy fit if they found out how much second hand coke the film makers would be responsible for giving the fish. :rotfl2:
