Jungle Cruise. -- love it or hate it?

Love it !! Best part about the ride is the dumb korny jokes that the skippers tell. Loved this ride for years and years. My two children love it as well.

Honestly, my dream retirement job is to be a Jungle Cruise skipper. :D So that being said, I love it. When you have a great skipper, it makes it even better.

Please make sure you have all your children with you. We take children left behind over to It's a Small World, superglue their feet to the floor and force them to sing that song over and over and over and...

Please watch your children. If you don't, the crocodiles will.

It charm and fun is Walt's own! It's not state of the art, but that is what gives it , it's Magic and Pixie Dust.

I am old enough to remember when the ride was somewhat serious, before the skippers started making jokes. The cornball humor is a VAST improvement. Having said that, I can take it or leave it.

It's not a must do for us, but my family still likes it. Your ride experience depends greatly on how much your tour guide is into it. I've had some who add their own non scripted jokes and are quite funny. This really makes it a great ride. I've had others who are just going through the motions. Bottom line for me, I don't love it, but I certainly don't hate it.

I like it. If I miss it I'm okay, but if there is not a long wait then it's a fun (cheesy) little interlude from the park. I rarely get a FP for it, but if I have more than one day of FP+ set up for MK I will sometimes put it in as a choice on one of the days.

Story time. While on our honeymoon, my husband and I took a trip on the Jungle Cruise. As we started off I was quietly miming all of the jokes. Our skipper caught me and said "Ladies and Gentleman, SHE thinks she can do better" while proceeding to hand me the Mic!!! I was giddy with excitement. Lifelong dream fulfilled, I got to narrate the Jungle Cruise! Will forever be my favorite Disney moment. =) Needless to say I am in the love it category!

Note to self-stop miming the skippers' jokes. I would totally choke under pressure! :)

We really like it anyway, it's fun

We love it! But I guess part of that stems from our first family vacation to WDW in '81. I was 3, didn't speak a word in English but my father proceeded to teach me "monkey, monkey, bring me your baby!" for the ride for whatever reason. So apparently for the whole ride, I sat up front in the boat and amused everyone by constantly shouting "monkey, monkey, bring me your baby!" when the skipper pointed at something. I had no idea what the skipper was talking about, didn't understand a word, but he pointed right, I called for the monkey. He pointed left, I called for the monkey. So after a while he handed my father the mic and just started silently pointing at things so I could call for the monkey XD Which of course never appeared but that didn't deter me to still call for the monkey to come.

It's still a family joke that we do every time we go on the ride - call for the monkey to the bring the baby when the gorillas come around. I have since taught it to me boys and my daughter will learn it on her first trip to WDW next year. It's a must-do, love it, we can't NOT do it ride!

wooooo! so cool! I got to do that one time and it was amazing!!!

also, just got back.....rode it 2x, the first skipper was good, but I LOVED Zaxby the skipper on the second ride! (I even tweeted @wdwtoday to tell them about it!) He had some great rarely heard jokes, and then did a great job at the old classics....take a peek down the dock to see how many people getting off are enjoying their time for an idea if your skipper will be good....

So I had to jump in this board because I actually just left my job as a skipper. It was the most fun job I ever had :) That being said, I worked with some skippers that I would feel guilty loading people into their boat...after waiting an hour, you definitely need someone fun. I love love love the ride and will admit that without a good skipper, it is not fun. I sure hope I wasn't a skipper that someone on here hated! haha!

WOO! I think the rest of the passengers weren't very interested, but me and my friend thoroughly enjoyed the ride!

Truthfully, as a skipper, for me it's all about the passengers on my boat. If you guys aren't into it and I can tell, I'm gonna save my energy for the next boat. I start every boat off with the attitude that it's gonna be an amazing one, but you can't always keep up that energy if you feel like no one cares. So guys, if you're having fun, let us know :)

I think that some people are just confused by the ride. Especially at the end. There is a dock on the left, and a dock on the right. That can be very confusing, because that's a Pair 'O Docks.

Love it. Also, a lot lot lot of guests don't speak English. It's not as much fun for them. If you're riding with people who are talking over the skipper or not laughing at all, at least 50% of the time they just don't understand.
