Hi All!
We made it home from Cedar Point. We had a great time. DD didn't want to ride anything and then we couldn't get her to leave that night:rotfl:All had a great time. So very different from Disney...Coaster Junkies go there and that's it! It had been so long since I was there. It was so clean though and a many steps up from 6 Flags. We loved staying right there in the hotel even though it was more cash, but I did get the park tickets dirt cheap by staying there and really only spent about $75 more and it was so worth it to walk to the park in the morning and afterwards.

It was 18 hours total...9 there and 9 back. Couldn't believe the cash we blew on Tolls! WOW!! Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio all look the same...fields except there are more trees outside of Iowa.

TP2: I would really check out the rides at Hershey Park. Going to Cedar Point would be a complete waste if you were not a coaster nut. DH and DS are so no big deal. There really were no in between rides. Also, this was new...I did not like leaving my bag (purse) in the bin while riding. Be aware of that. I had my Disney "purse" which I stuffed in all our cells and my camera, but had money and credit cards and it made me REALLY nervous leaving it in a bin. :scared1: I would do it very differently next time and yes they want to go back!!!

It turned out that I couldn't ride the rides so it didn't matter. Turns out we rode the worst one first...my head didn't like it. I was fine when I got off, but not good during. So, I tried the Corkscrew as it's tamer...same deal. Tried the Gemini which doesn't do loops...same deal. I just waited. The lines were not bad either. Can't imagine once all the schools are out or on a weekend! It was much busier on Sat when we left!!:scared1:

I do know now though why I stopped going to Michigan in the summer. The drive is horrible and the trip to Michigan was 40 miles longer:eek: Chi Town was the only spot we hit traffic, but it's so LONG:sad2:

Daisy Do It All: We love T Rex, however, it is very popular and it would seem that is the only place that was booked back in March for our July trip. So, be sure to check for an ADR before you go.

Also...Sat at MK will be fine...better than Sunday with the EMH that night but as MKY said...get there early.

Sorry for my many posts! I made DD's picture appointment for her Grad pics at the Beach Club! We get a break since we are DVC members...didn't expect that one! I wanted 10 am, but could only get 9:15 or 10:45...I took the 9:15 because of the heat in FL:confused3

Hiya EE22!:yay:

Glad you had a great little trip! Sorry about the traffic, here. Illinois has NO planning. We just do all our rodes at the same time. :confused3 And I think everyone commutes with their car. It is so not worth going anywhere north from here, or east on 80. If it was not red lights I would of told you to get off 80 on 30 east > and proceed to Merryiville Indiana then 65 north. That is a slower back route but it moves at least. Keep it in mind if you go to michigan at all. I know what you mean about 6 flags > I don't care for the chicago version much. Is cinncinati still have a park too? We used to go there. Kings Island. They are coaster heavy too but had some other stuff. With the new stuff at universal, maybe it is not such a coaster park now? I wonder. We barely do islands of adventure at all.

How did DD mouth do? She feeling better yet? They did all my teeth before my braces. I had the opposite. Nice to not have to go through that after the braces. Good luck on her pictures. :wizard:

Now, get ready for WDW!!!! :woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo:

mky:cutie:

mky: I will have to look you up next time. We've never known how to go around that area. Gary, Indiana had construction going on but it was moving most of the time. We lucked out as we hit it right at 4:30 pm on Thurs. DS and DD worked so we had to wait for them.

I think King's Island is still there...never been.

We really did have a great time. Not Disney...very different park that's for sure, but such fun for the kids. I enjoyed it too even though I didn't ride. Probably good though as the plane ride will mess up my head even more and since we are doing Universal first...I know not to ride the rides there. Like Disney though, there is more than just that.

I WANT TO GO ON ET!!! We went when DS and DD were very little...DS was in kindergarten and the line for ET was 3 hours by the time we got out of the Barney Show:laughing:so I wouldn't wait. We went between Christmas and New Year's. It was the busiest day ever at Universal...IOA didn't exist yet and I believe Disney's 25th with the pink Castle Cake thing...so mobs of people. But, I want to go on ET. I wish Back to the Future was still there. DS will know what I can go on. SpiderMan will be good. Terminator...lots to do there that are not coasters for me and of course, Harry Potter World.

DD is good with her teeth. Her gums closed up too fast and they had to open them up right before we left:eek:but she is okay now. She had some trapped blood in there. Seems fine now though. Her wisdom teeth weren't even there when they did her braces. They put them on so much earlier now. No roots really and not near the nerves so she was back to normal by Sat and really I think doing too much...but what do I know:confused:

Next big event is DS's orientation for school:sad1:buying loads of stuff already. Must get on the fridge and mircowave for his room. Did a bit of looking before we left and perhaps a window air conditioner.

Guzzi, here you go: www.**************
Congrat's on your trip. have fun. Looks like we are there at the same time. Here's to great weather & fun!:thumbsup2

I am now at 30 days!! :dance3:

mky:cutie:

:sad1::sad1:I just want you all to know that Toy Story 3 may put me over the edge on Friday:sad1::sad1:

Hi Everyone !!!:goodvibes

OK....................we are now at party:24 more days !!!!party:
Packing is going well, (although I can really put more into it then I`ve been, the last couple of days ).....I stop, then start again mostly at night .....
The Perfectly Princess is getting very excited now too :yay:....I made a Countdown of 30 days for her mommy to put on the Frig this coming Sunday....she will be counting down to her first Disney Trip !!!! :cheer2::yay::cheer2:

EE22- I hear ya about TS3 ....I know this fall will be bitter sweet for you, but at least DS won`t be too far away !!

MKY- Are you guys Packed yet ? !!:dance3:

TP2- Have you found a Doggie sitter yet ? :dogdance:....I hope you find some place that you are comfortable with :flower3:

Candi- Happy Non-Disney this year !....Hope you guys have a great time in Colorado !!:cheer2:

Happy Packing everyone !!!! :grouphug:

I am working on a case for the medals for DS now that high school is over. He has nearly 50 of them...just was amazed when I took them all down off his shelf. WOW!

Making me nervous Tomar, but getting the kids packed never happens till the bitter end. To be honest and fair though, they don't have the stock pile of clothes that I do and DH has his Disney shirts. Shirts they have, but shorts...they do not. If DH and I are packed, it will be fine though. My toiletry suitcase was a diaster...I have a few things left to put together like shampoo in the bottles and that will be set.

MKY and Bug...still wish we were there at the same time. DS, DH and DD were all bummed when I told them we were missing you by a day:lovestrucThey loved meeting you and think it's just awesome how much you love Disney:thumbsup2 We talked about you the entire time driving through the TRAFFIC!!!

TP2: good luck with the dog sitter...not fun.

Candi: Colorado is beautiful...my uncle has a HUGE home out in the mountains.

TS3: It might be worse than UP last summer:sad1:

Hiya everyone! :wave2:

Tomar, Hiya! I am sure the princess: is excited now. I remember getting ready to take my nephew or neices and I was wayyyyyyyyyy more excited then they where. She is a good disney fan already [thanks to nana], so that shouldn't be your problem. :)

Not packing yet. will pull suitcases this weekend and start getting ready. So glad with my purple box: don't need the tolietries. That makes it so much easier. :wizard: Just pack our clothes, shoes, and purses. Hats, backpacks, bathroom stuff already in florida.

EE22, We are bummed to be coming in too late to. Later this year if we all have time. We need to meet up again, maybe your daughter or son, will get another meet in illinois somewhere??

Happy Wednesday! We are finally in the 20's!!
Ok, so it is 29. ;)

mky:cutie:

Well, I survived Swim Suit shopping with DD and getting her clothes for her grad pics! I deserve a GOLD MEDAL!!!:banana:glad that is DONE.

TP2: for future reference...Victoria Secret has GREAT suits and not really that much more than others and they fit very well and are made well with extra lining, etc. DD got Roxy suits last year on super duper sale and their starting price was 2 times what they were at VS. Very picked over after only one day. I was back there again Wed after we were there Tues and many were gone already. Their semi annual sale brings in tons of people.

mky: I am thinking we'll be your way and we have to meet up. I really do want to hit the outlets sometime. There is that big one on the tollway on the way out your way.

The weather was so bad last winter break and I was so very tired with being sick last summer/fall. It's really not a bad drive. I just knew I was not up for it especially with our strange winter weather. After the last time when we went to Wicked, I had visions of ditches dancing in my head.

I know for sure we'll be that way next summer before DL too. I am convinced we should fly Southwest and DH agrees even with the drive there. Been reading up on DL and I was bummed we couldn't go in June, but now I think July will actually be better for us. More shows and less local people since it's blocked out. It will be hot whenever we go like FL so that I don't care about.

I am so excited to see World of Color and Fantasmic! out there:woohoo:

Toy Story 3 was excellent. I didn't have to use too many tissues, but I did a few near the very end. It is just an awesome movie. I guess my kids are Toy Story Generation kids. I think it's so funny when I walk into a store and see all the TS stuff.

So much for cleaning out the closet though this fall:confused3

EE22, :wizard: Ooooh, I want to see it. It looks good. Not sure what happened to June. Seems like the days go by so fast. Only at work does it dragggggggggggggg.

Finally got down our suitcases. :woohoo: Its starting to look like vacation time here...... 25 days to goooooooooooo!!

You guys are all so close.:cool1::yay:

mky:cutie:

Hi Guys !!!
This was one of the hottest weekends since the warm weather started !! HOT ! :sunny:....Not complaining, I love it !!....Getting ourselves ready for Disney, and the warm weather , is really making me know my vacation is HERE !!! Whoooooo Hooooo !!! :woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:

EE22- Im glad you enjoyed TS3- I kinda figured it would have some teary moments to the story for you .... overall I heard it was wonderful !! :goodvibes

MKY- we are at 20 days here .....the Perfectly Princess`s Countdown is on her frig ....AS OF TODAY !!! yaay !!! :yay::yay::yay:

Hope all the "Dad`s " had a great Father`s day today !!! :thumbsup2

I got some major packing done yesterday. I did most of DH's shirts and half of my outfits. Still determining the others. I put them in ziplocs. DD will be the issue again, but she'll just have to next weekend and go with it. DS is a tad easier because all his underwear are the same:rolleyes1and socks.

I also spent all day getting my Ipod ready to go. DH made me a new account on our new laptop. It's DDs old one and I waited two years for her to do it for me...I had DS show me and watched the tutorial and it's DONE!! 629 songs later:thumbsup2so excited to have it for the trip. I worked all day putting in cds, pack, putting in cds, pack. It was hot, humid and nasty here so it was a good job.

We have had a ton of rain. Flooding going on...and more rain this week. The weather the last 3 summers has been bad. Actually, the weather over all here is HORRIBLE. I hope DS and DD plant themselves somewhere else although we could just leave for the winter when we retire....to the Magic Kingdom of course:cheer2:

We are under two weeks!! I worked on the bills and hit the bank for traveler's checks last week. I am not looking forward to the 100 miles trek to the airport, but the flight times are so much better. We gain a 1/2 of day by leaving at 10 am.

I'm trying not to do too much before we go...I don't want to get sick again this year.
