Hi All!
We made it home from Cedar Point. We had a great time. DD didn't want to ride anything and then we couldn't get her to leave that night
All had a great time. So very different from Disney...Coaster Junkies go there and that's it! It had been so long since I was there. It was so clean though and a many steps up from 6 Flags. We loved staying right there in the hotel even though it was more cash, but I did get the park tickets dirt cheap by staying there and really only spent about $75 more and it was so worth it to walk to the park in the morning and afterwards.
It was 18 hours total...9 there and 9 back. Couldn't believe the cash we blew on Tolls! WOW!! Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio all look the same...fields except there are more trees outside of Iowa.
TP2: I would really check out the rides at Hershey Park. Going to Cedar Point would be a complete waste if you were not a coaster nut. DH and DS are so no big deal. There really were no in between rides. Also, this was new...I did not like leaving my bag (purse) in the bin while riding. Be aware of that. I had my Disney "purse" which I stuffed in all our cells and my camera, but had money and credit cards and it made me REALLY nervous leaving it in a bin.
I would do it very differently next time and yes they want to go back!!!
It turned out that I couldn't ride the rides so it didn't matter. Turns out we rode the worst one first...my head didn't like it. I was fine when I got off, but not good during. So, I tried the Corkscrew as it's tamer...same deal. Tried the Gemini which doesn't do loops...same deal. I just waited. The lines were not bad either. Can't imagine once all the schools are out or on a weekend! It was much busier on Sat when we left!!
I do know now though why I stopped going to Michigan in the summer. The drive is horrible and the trip to Michigan was 40 miles longer
Chi Town was the only spot we hit traffic, but it's so LONG
