Hiya MKY !!
This is my take on the situation.....you guys either love to stay at the Poly, or CR...right ?.....so Im thinking.....for the extra days...you can give BLT a try....Ive seen the video of the views...they are spectacular !! You can always call and ask where exactly are the MK view rooms located ...then request those !!
Being DVC we can only hope to snag that kind of view at the 7 month window.....(You can make ressies only for your home resort at the 11 month window).....that gives you a SUPER advantage also, if you were thinking of purchaseing some points there .......
The DVC moto is ....buy where you love to stay...and I can see that you love the CR and Poly !! ......then again...Someday .....you may hear that the Poly will Become a DVC resort too !!

No not packed yet. Doubtful about ever joining dvc. Just too much of a commitment. Really think we will take the blt, and stay 2 days at akl or csr? Want to stay somewhere we haven't been.
Seems like we do stay at poly or cr alot. Just parking at the other parks is fairly easier, than at mk. We wanted to stay in CR area in october due to the mnsshp fireworks. They are really unbelievable.

The mk views, you pay for, so they are guarranteed. Just wondering how good or area they are located in.

MKY: I would go BLT in a heartbeat. Just for the extra bathroom. We are sticking with our 2 rooms at value because of the extra bathroom/tv. I would love to switch but everytime I think of giving up that extra space I change my mind. Of course we are 4 women, but still.

CSR has been renovated since we were there in 2006. Seems like they fixed a lot of the problems we encountered during our stay so I would give it a try. We had broken furniture, curtains falling off the rack, not to mention the wet carpets. Although the carpets were probably from them cleaning them but who knows if it were really an AC unit that was leaking.

Tomar: 5 days....so exciting.

Very sad about the monorail situation. Poor kid did not even get to live his life yet. Looks like the brakes did not work or something for the one mono to just crash into the other like that. I am sure they had to get that thing back up and running as quickly as possible. Imagine paying to stay at a resort with the monorail, only to have it out of service on your vacation. I would not want to work in Disney customer service that day.

TP2, I know. Only thing is with the bounceback, it is almost as much to stay at akl as csr. You get off more at the higher hotels. 30% off deluxes & 40% off at dvc. They don't take as much off at the mods and values. There is also, a glitch that you might only get to use the bounceback on the level of resort your in. There are reports that say you do and some that had difficulty downgrading. So, not sure if they will let you. You know, they will let you upgrade.

Any one know which ak is Jambo vs. kidani? I think Jambo is main building but it was actually priced a little better? I would of that it would be higher. Maybe I was looking at different views?

ugh, this is too much planning. I am supposed to have it figured out by time bug gets off work, and sees her md.

Hi MKY

We own at AKV. Jambo house is the original building or the Lodge. The Kidani village is the new resort area at the resort.

I wonder how renting DVC points would compare to use the bounce back. Here is something thet might convince you to try it....they have a conceriege level at AKV!!! Food, turn down service, chocolates on your pillows!

I was only able to get 2 nights for us in the studio for next March. I should have booked it at the 11 month mark, but we had not decided where to stay at that time.

MKY: I did not realize they were giving a different percentage off based on level of resort. Last year I was looking at the UK offer and we would have booked YC based on the way that promo worked. Same thing, based on level of resort you got a discount and the dining plan. We would have spent $5k for 2 weeks with dining and tickets. I wanted to book it so bad but when you figure the difference with the exchange rates and all there was really no savings.

4 daysssssssss !!!!

I am so not ready. Just did max's bday tonight. I did take thursday off as a holiday, so that will help. I should have time to change beds, etc... . and still pack. Tommorrow, after work we get our hair cut and highlighted. So no more errands. Bug's back is much better. She had a terrible, migraine last nite and better today but not gone. If its not one thing it's another.

Yes, tp2 they where doing it on a % off based on the group. But 30% or 40% off / I can't believe the ap rate would be better? It wasn't last year when I booked a bounceback for last august.

Candi, thanks for the akl info. I think for the price we are seriuously thinking about akv or akl. Of course if I can't get blt or cr tower with the BB I will probably wind up at the poly for the whole time. Poly always seems to either be available or in the discount. No sure why.

What a beautiful night here tonight. It was comfortable with clear skies. We tried to go to the movies but both of the big movie complexes were crazy busy. It is cheap night here on Tuesday. Only $4.20 to see a show, but tonight was worse than usual.

We ended up taking DD11 for icecream instead and DD13 went to hang out with friends.

MKY - 4 days from now, you can drive by the Nick hotel and wish your 401K was as secure as that place.

Tomar - we are still back and forth with our plans. We have two nights booked at AKV in the conceriege level and then another 5 nights in a Savanna view studio. I have to wait until the seven month mark to use our SSR points for the other two nights. I don't want to borrow next years AKV points at this time.

We stayed at AKV in July 2008 and we LOVED it! The animals were incredible and we really liked have the savanna view room. We stayed in the Lodge and will stay there again the next trip. We might move over to BCV if we have to move anyway, but we are not sure just yet. We will wait and see what is available at the 7 month mark and then decide I guess.

Plus DD13s best friend has moved home to Orlando and we might spend one night with them but have to plan to do that yet.

I hear ya about the 7 month window....we did it this year for the BWV....Its not easy to switch when your not making ressies at the 11 month ....
