How is "Bug" ?...I hope she is feeling better !!!!!

Welcome back Candi ! :goodvibes
Sounds like you had a great trip !

EE22- fingers crossed for the Heat to be fixed at school !!pixiedust: pixiedust:

Well, after not sleeping well last night...thinking about my heat as I was trying to dream about Disney...I decided I'd call the "heat" dude myself. I guess it's in the works. If the snow flies and I don't have heat...you all will hear me loud and clear when I'm venting!!

Has anyone ever defrosted their freezer in the middle of the summer?:confused3
Didn't think so. I didn't really want to, but when the freezer gets turned off...no clue how long...that's what happens. HUGE MESS! HUGE! and many $$ in food thrown out.

I'm moving on now...well, as soon as all the rugs are washed from the melting ice from the freezer shelves, etc and the ice cream that leaked out the door and down the drain pipe.

I do not recommend this activity. Thank goodness we were home though. I cannot imagine the smell if we were gone for days. I also cannot imagine the heartache of the flood victims that had to throw out a lot more than food. The emotional drain would take a lot out of a person. It was a good reminder to "count my blessings" again this summer.

mky:cutie: hope Bug is okay.

Have a good night everyone:goodvibes

EE22: Didn't realize your fridge went out. I thought you were talking about your classroom. It is funny how things seem to happen. Last year our pipe burst in the summer right after we got back from being away over the weekend. Same thing, imagine we were in Disney for 2 weeks when this was going on. What a mess. And then on Tuesday, that huge tree, like 3 storys, just fell in our yard. Our entire back yard was filled with pine needles. Branches higher than our roof. All I could think of was that my kids are ALWAYS playing outside in the back. What if they were out there. There was no crazy weather or anything. Just fell. I have no idea but I do know it could have been a lot worse.

MKY: Hope Bug is okay. We are all wishing her well.

Hi everyone:wave2:

Candi, :welcome: Welcome Back! Hope your trip was great. :wizard: Can't wait to read the details.

EE22, I think I am interested in shutterfly too. I saw the books at target and they looked really nice. Got one of there flyers there.
I went to my foot md today. You would of been proud. He was amazed at how much better I am doing with my mbt's. He loved the shoe and had not heard of them. He is going online tonight to research and shopping this weekend, I told him the walking store carries them here. He already has ideas for alot of his patients. I told him I have bug wearing them for her knee. He was very excited and wants to hear how we do at disney. He is my disney md, friend.:wizard: He asked, how I found them. I told the truth, my disney friend from iowa..... . He totally enjoyed it.

TP2, sounds like it would be easy to get lost. I :rotfl: that you took your wdw tickets. Years ago, my parents drove to Mt. Rushmoore and then where suppose to gamble in deadwood. They got there looked around and drove 2 days to las vegas.:wizard: We knew when they left, they would wind up there.:lmao:

Tomar, Hope your all settled and rest up, to start planning again.

Well, Bug is doing better. She plans to go back to work tommorrow. She is rested and fever is better. Taking her meds.:thumbsup2
Last nite after work, I had my hair cut and grey wiped out.;) Even put some highlights in. I made her promise they would not turn orange.
Today called CR and double checked about mailing boxes. Ready to go tommorrow after work.

Have a great nite. Happy thursday & 5Days to go!!mky:cutie:

mky!! Thank goodness. I've been refreshing all night to find out how she is.

It was the heat in my classroom. It's not fixed:confused:
The freezer didn't go out...someone shut it off:confused3I guess that's the good part...it still works and I don't have to buy a new one and when I first heard, "mom, someone left the freezer door open" and saw the mess I thought it did go out.

Shutterfly is really easy to use and they do have the service through Target too. They have added a lot of features since we first started and like I said it's free to upload and very easy to use. I did have issues this time because it changed from the last time I sent pics and I got lost a few times;) it allows you to put in an address book too so you can click everyone in the address book at once to send them out.

One thing I learned the hard way...it will only send out those invitations with under like 250 pics so when you upload to a folder, only upload 200. If you want to send from a folder of 500 pics, then you'd have to click 200 to send out. Otherwise, you click "all" and it sends all in that folder. Hope that made sense. That was a bummer the first time I did that :surfweb: clicked for a while and then just uploaded them into different folders and started over. Took way too long.

I would never have made it at WDW without the MBTs. The kids made so much fun of me though:laughing: it was meant in fun, but we always have these phrases from our trips and one is from this trip..."gonna kick em in the teeth with your MBTs, grandma." DS calls me grandma...lovingly. I can't remember how that started either. They both said I had power jets on the back. They worked like a charm though.

Yes, I admit to my friends on this thread too. :goodvibes

EE22: Better than I thought. At least the freezer is not broken. One time DH left the 2nd refrigorator door open the day before DD birthday party. We had all the party food in there. I was ready to kill him. We had to buy the food all over again on the day of the party. Total disaster.

Maybe this winter won't be so bad. You had the worst of it this year. It has to be better next year.

EE22 - the reservation issues were as such

When we checked in the CM told me that he was not sure I would be staying in the same room....idiot....we said he would have to check. After checking me in, he forgot to find out and I gave up on him and left...let them pack me up and move me while I am at the park if they need to but I was not even going to wait while he found out I knew more than he did.

When we checked out, the bill they delivered was only for the second reservation days and nothing from the first...I called down and was told that I only had express check out for the last reservation....if I only checked in once why would it only be on one reservation? I had to go down to the desk and have them print a detailed copy for me for the entire stay. See I am one on THOSE :scared: people who check every charge on the bill to the receipts to make sure they are all mine. pirate: try to loot my treasure and see what you get pirate: That really bugged me. Needless to say that express check out or not, they charged the balance from the first stay to my credit card on the day I was "checking out"from the first reservation.

So, not a huge deal just dumb.

We were part of the huge black out a few years back that say Ohio, Michigan and Ontario without power. Do you remember that. It was cause by a short at a power plant in Ohio..killed the entire grid.

We had the whole neighbourhood eating icecream all evening. We lost everything in the fridge and deap freeze downstairs. The stores lost everything too. It was horrible. Hot, humid, two small kids and no power. It was horrible.

MKY - I am glad that bug is feeling better. If she has congestion, bring nasal spray - it is incredible how well it works when you fly. Pills will not touch it but one spray and she will be all set.

:dance3: :dance3: 5 days! :dance3: :dance3:

Yes...making more weather records this year is not what I want to do:rotfl: except maybe for the LEAST amount of snow ever and 80's the week of Christmas :lmao:

That is what happened to us with our reservations as well. I don't think they have the system down there. Our check out date on the parking tag was only for the first one...one night. We never noticed till the last day and I would have been HOT if we would have to pay for parking. No one noticed...ever:rotfl:

I remember the black out...bro lives in the Detroit area. Not a happy time. I think Tomar and TP2 were hit too ??

if you all haven't figure this out...I have no idea how to post and pull in multiple posts and quote from different people and never cared enough to learn:teacher: so sorry I am post challenged

I should ask DL11...I'm sure my child could help me with technology...after all she is doing my ipod music. She wants me to drive her places!!!!

EE22: Yes, we were part of the blackout too. On our way to vacation the next morning. I was in the middle of my last minute errands when it went out. No gas, no cash, no ice. Scary feeling.

TP2: I was worried about my brother in the Detroit area that's for sure. Didn't it last several days too?

MKY: FOUR!!!:earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2:

Was up at work again and contacted my "main lady" with the "fix it" staff and the parts for my heater are at least ordered.

EE22: Different places got power back at different times. My neighborhood got lucky and we had power again after 5 hours but my parents, who live 5 miles away, went over 24 hours without power. Some people did not have it for days. Made no sense really.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:
so excited for you mky!!!

I'm going to work tomorrow:teacher: to put my Disney room back together.
Gotta go back so I can get around to another vaca with Mickey. I'm working hard on dates, but Allegiant is such a bummer...I hope they don't change their flying days for 09!

EE22 - if you brother is in the Detroit area, he is in my area too. Windsor is just across the river from Detroit.

That black out was terrible - when we suffer power losses from storms, we have power back within hours not days like parts of the US but with the blackout it was infrastructure so it was outside of our control. We were without power for more than 24 hours.

I had no gas, was going to fill up on the way home, no money etc. I know the guy at the pizza shop so I picked up a pizza for dinner on an IOU (gas ovens). Even if I had money the gas pumps didn't work since they are electric pumps.

Our hot water tank has a blower on it and for safety it will not fire the burner if the blower will not vent...so no hot water. The sump pump had to be bailed by hand and it was very hot and humid...like Florida in August.

Our babysitter and my mom and dad had no power so no one would take the kids for me. The people I work with were horrible that I did not come into work even though a state of emergency was declared. I had my husband drive the work truck up to see if the building had power because I would have had to figure something out if they did..they say his truck out the window and for some reason decided I ditched for no reason...bunch of @#$!s

Not a fun time. Plus since the stores lot all perishables in the fridges, you couldn't get fresh milk and such even if you wanted to for the next couple of days.:scared:

MKY - I am so glad that Bug is feeling better. :dance3: Have a great time and make sure you hit the Toy Story ride....it was incredible.
