mky...I remember going to visit my aunt out East and I also went on several trips with another aunt and they were always a blast so I know just how Max feels. It will be so much fun for him. You are too sweet to take him. I wish they would have taken me on the Disney Cruise...they took their granddaughter instead. No fair!!

As you could tell from my pics, I wore almost the same style of shorts with all outfits...white or black shorts...that's it. I find a style I like and buy enough for a trip:rotfl: now shirts...I could cloth the county.

I thought of you again at Wally World with the cute scrubs for nurses, but I know you can't always wear those.

DD has a huge bite on her forehead...not sure what got her but she always does that with bug bites. Not good.

Happy Packing...:dance3:

Hiya Everyone: We are back. We had a great trip. Not enough time in DC and we got lost on the Metro.:scared1: Should have spent more time looking into travel but figured we were going to one spot to see some really big buildings. How lost can someone get. They make it hard with all the security. Not sure if there is a lot of construction or just huge concrete walls for security. Made things really hard. Big fences everywhere detouring people out of areas and NO PARKING! Had to walk or cab it everywhere. We just walked but we were exhausted. More walking than the World if you can believe it. Williamsburg was fun. The kids had a great time. The Fife and Drums band was in Switzerland for a competition so the Colonial part of the trip was sortof a bust. We spent the entire week in Busch Gardens and Water Country. Kids had a blast. DD4 kept asking if we could go to Disney World now that this vacation is over.:rotfl: I really thought that she thought vacation WAS DW. I now know that she does remember DW and really is looking forward to going back. I am so looking forward to planning for next year.

Tomar: I agree about your clothes.:lovestruc I noticed the same thing, everything matched. When I pack, I get all excited and want everyone to have everything new for the trip. Then we get there and between the sweat and dirt and dripping ice cream, I end up doing laundry so the kids don't ruin any new clothes. I keep telling myself that I will learn my lesson and by nothing new for a trip but I can't control myself. Preplanning fun I guess.

MKY: Great idea about the packing of clothes. I change my shirt way more often. I need to pack more like that. I saw that show about SW.:scared1: I always fly them and really love them. They are no frills but at the same time they do what they should perfectly. I have always had on time flights and their customer service is always wonderful. No tricks with changing of flights and not informing you. I can't say enough.

You are down to 7 days! :cool1: Hope you are ready to go.

EE22: So happy you like WEGOSHOP. I have always loved them but then you get nervous after you recommend someone. We used them 3 years straight and always love the service.

Minnie: Sorry about life right now. Sometimes it feels like things are falling from everywhere.

TP2: Welcome Home!!!:goodvibes I should have sent you my map of the Metro. I don't remember construction while we were there, but I can hardly remember yesterday:rotfl: Sounds like you had a good time just not a Disney good time;) We are here for you to help you plan!!:woohoo: So funny about your DD asking about when you were going to Disney. A True Disney Child.

WEGOSHOP was awesome and mouseaddicts received what I had left over. We will use them again. It was so nice not having to do that on vacation.

Maybe buy stuff on sale and you won't worry about the ice cream at WDW. I couldn't pass clothes from one to the other so it helped a little with that worry. They outgrew them by the end of the summer so it didn't matter.

EE22: My kids grow so slow. They have clothes from last summer and some from 2 summers ago. They also have way more than they can ever wear. With DD4 I have given up a bit and have that attitude but with the others, I am looking to pass the better stuff down.

MKY: I think I missed your birthday. :cake: Hope it was wonderful and you got your camera. I need a new one. That is what I want this year. We used our video camera to take stills this trip. Does not work out as well.

Still working on putting everything away and getting rid of luggage. :laundy: The laundry seems never ending...and I did some while away too. Imagine if I had not.

Hiya everyone:wave2:

TP2:welcome: welcome back! Glad you had a great time. Your daughter is great and a chip off the disney block.:thumbsup2 Now you have to get busy:laundy: and catch up. Sounds like you didn't have health issues, :woohoo: and glad it sounded like you enjoyed dc or what you found. I expect the metro is similar to chicago's L train? :scared1: Happy planning! No you didn't miss my b-day its aug 4. but we will be gone. So I don't have to turn 49. :snooty:

EE22, We are now allowed to wear "comic" "character" prints for shirts but they have to match our navy blue pants or white pants. :dance3: So that is a vast improvement. Watch the bug bite. That has been our #1 admitter this summer. Bug bite > infected. If it starts looking red, warm, or larger notify md right away. Can be dangerous.
DD11, keep your fingers off your forehead.:yay: Serious business.

Mky :cutie: Now at 7 Days:dumbo: :dumbo: :dumbo: :dumbo: :dumbo: :dumbo: :dumbo:

mky...they had some cute ones at Walmart when I was there. Very cute!!

Are any parts of the "L" okay, mky or all bad? I only see the icky parts going into Chicago. The Metro is actually okay to ride if you don't get off in bad spots.

We used it a lot while there, but it can be confusing and all the colors:rotfl: I studied it before we left and we had 3 of us to figure it out and the two kids and most of the time they were right:rotfl: my step mom had been there before too so she knew what she was doing. There is no one wearing purple pants either:laughing: There is a ton of walking too!

TP2...can't wait to hear the places you saw in DC. I really liked our trip there. It was just cool to see all that in person that's always in movies.

:cutie: Thanks for the heads up on the bug bite. She use to get sick when she would get too many...fever, etc. The one on her forehead got to the size of a walnut, but it was better today when she got up. The bugs really like her. Of course, we have mosquitoes the size of small children here this summer with all the rain and it just keeps raining...it has almost every day since we've been home:confused: I'll tell her not to itch...the Pool Queen is at the pool today.:goodvibes

Happy Packing mky:cutie:

EE22, I have a couple from walmart. But once someone gets one, the next day everyone shows up at work wearing the "new" one.:confused3
No, better to stay off the L. Unless you are a native user, and know get on here and off there I would not try it. I went to a conference one year up there and stayed over, some ladies thought it would be fun to go for a ride. :scared1: I told them, I would not recommend that for a good time, and agreed with me the next day. I like watching the L sometimes or the platforms from a number of highways going in;) will parked in traffic.:rotfl: Thats entertaining. Like an action movie.
I don't think I have seen a pink bug. Mary Kay?

Just waiting for bug to get home from work, going camera shopping tonight.:woohoo: Need something small, extremely easy to use and cute.

mky:cutie:

Have fun camera shopping. Mine is small and cute and a year old and probably outdated!!:lmao:

Mine is a Canon powershot SD800 and it's good for me. It's easy...I'm not a camera person.

DL11 thinks it's an antique;) she does have a fireworks feature which is nice on hers...you never saw any of her pics...they were all mine with my camera. We haven't done anything with hers yet. The laptop wouldn't take both software programs. She uploaded hers when we got home.

Mine does have a mode to shoot multiple pics in a row. I find the shutter speed with digi cams to be slow so I like that feature a lot especially for the parades. Doesn't shoot Spectro worth a hoot though. That's a tough one...I just take pics off the internet.

Buy a HUGE memory card if you take lots of pics:goodvibes
That's the one thing I like...I never have to worry about how many pics I take. You do have to make sure you don't take too high a quality pic or it will use up all your space on the card. DL11 took nearly 2000 pics all on the same memory card.

DH knows a ton...I know almost nothing, but he sets me up!

The bug was not MK. I've seen it one other time...it's too dark of a pink to be MK and no label;) . It's not hot pink, but it's darker than MK...theirs are very light pink...this is almost like a bubble gum. Did you see Rocky and Bullwinkle? probably not:lmao: that's the first time I saw a pink bug in that movie and it's the same color.

Have fun shopping. :lmao: :lmao: about the L since I've seen it. The Metro is a subway system which is rather creepy in and of itself. I wouldn't ride that one at night.

We have scary stuff here...corn mazes...that's about it:laughing: I do hate corn mazes though...they are hot and there are snakes!! YUCKO

Hi Guys !!:goodvibes

TP2- :cheer2: Welcome BAck !!!:cheer2:
I was hysterical laughing at DD4 thinking that she was going from Busch Gardens to Disney ....."Out of the mouth of babes " LOL:angel:
But ...yes ..she is now fully aware that she needs her princess status again !!princess: ;)
Thank you too for the compliment of my ....."Never ending...year long buying....mickey matching...obsession with dressing for the mouse !! ROTFL:rotfl:
I assure you guys...when the boys were small....it was much different...not much...ROTFL;) ....but I had to let alot of things go as TP2 said....cause I found ice cream fell on my shirts and so forth then....I assume that`ll happen again with PP one of these trips :flower:

MKY- party: SEVEN party:
WE stood at Congress Park again...we do every year...Mr. Tomar`s favorite place in the world !!! (the Lake overlooking DTD ..and the Froggy pool) :goodvibes
Yes....I read that "High Rock springs Pool slide is closing in September"...don`t know why or when it will open again though....:confused3 Good Luck Camera shopping ....I think we`re due for a new one soon too....according to our "Best Buy" sales associate....a digital camera is outdated after 2 years ! YIKES...I remember haveing a camera for 5 or 7 years before we changed it years ago....but believe it or not...I couldn`t get a memeory card for the one we have now in the stores....that`s how I know it`s outdated.... and the kids only bought it for us a couple of christmases ago ! :scared1:.the new ones are great though...they can pick up soooo much more than our`s did !

EE22- How is "DL11`s" bite healing ? I got one at the pool at SSR a couple of days before we were leaving to come home....I hope the stupid thing that bit me died right after it bit me ...cause it caused me alot of grief for a couple of days ....ick...!!! I kept putting rubbing alcohol on it...and finally it subsided ....it was HUGE !! :scared:

OK....other than MKY:cutie: (cause she`s leaving in a few days:angel: ).....LETS GET PLANNING FOR OUR NEXT TRIP GALS !!!!!! :cool1:  :cool1:

Well, DL11 is covered in bites from last night and throwing. The rings are in a shady area and all the rain is not a good situation. I told her to put on more bug spray. I think her stinky shower gel is calling the buggies! The one on her forehead has gone down, but she has them all under her arms. They must have gotten in her shirt while throwing. She wore long sleeves tonight.

She is so funny and has always done this...she puts band aids on them so she won't itch them so she will be covered in them. They are those tatoo ones...I think they are princesses though:rotfl: She has always been that way with bug bites too. They are not huge like the one on her forehead though.

I told her what you said mky!:cutie:

It was funny...picked her up from the pool and took her to the ortho so when we were driving I said, "mky from the board said..." she knew who I was walking about:lmao:

Tp2, wait till all the girls start talking about the ladies from the thread. Your DH will not know what to do.:rotfl:

Evening everyone!:wave2:

Well back early from shopping, bug is getting chills and not feeling good. This better not turn into something. I did buy a camera. Its a sony cybershot. Its red cute;) Same one bug has only newer model. Now I have to figure it out. But I can't till it charges.;) Ok, how much does shutterfly cost? The sites looks nice, but I could not navigate the prices? Is the storage free or charges? and you can buy prints or print packages? I am so confused.

Tomar, I think congress park was the best view and location. But SSR is spread out if you want to go to the main buildings / pool. The frog pool was very elegant.

EE22, I bought 2 2gb cards for the camera. Will see how that works out.

Now, everyone start your planning: 1st order of business > new countdown counters.

minnie, I hope things are better hang in there. :wizard:

TP2, should we look for you and DD at wdw in a week?

Candi, hope your having great weather and a wonderful time.

mky :cutie: :stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2:

I hope Bug is okay. Pixie Dust and Prayers for her.

Shutterfly is free for storage. You can order pictures too and you can edit them, etc and cut stuff out, fix red eye...all that jazz. A friend at work even ordered a great scrapbook from them too that came as a hard back book. Very cool.

Google has one now too...cannot remember how to get to it. I just tried. We learned about it on our last day of work. I really hate the loss of knowledge over the summer for staff and students. :confused3 I sent an email...I will let you know.

:rotfl: on looking for TP2.

When does Candi get back?
I hope you continue your dining reviews too Minnie.

I have to get DH to commit to a date before I can do a counter:confused3

MKY::scared1: about Bug. At least you still have a couple of days for her to hit the doctor and recover.

Funny you bring up seeing me there in August. I brought our left over tickets from last year to VA. Just in case we decided to extend our trip.:rotfl:

I need a new camera too. My last one, Canon Elf, the lens won't pop out anymore. Maybe overuse, not sure. I want one with a fast shutter speed. I am putting off buying the new one hoping for some improvements. We don't have many stills from this past trip. We do have video though. I need to get my hands on what we have though and send them to you girls.

EE22: DH is finally get used to me quoting you guys.:lmao:

Hope DL11 bites are getting better. She must be tortured with all those bites. Funny but you think of the mess and forget about the all the other problems the water brings. Have they started spraying? They spray by the water all the time here.

Tomar: DD4 definately thinks she is a princess or a ballerina...depends on the day. She makes us laugh, that is for sure.

As for DC, I did not plan enough. Remember I was not too excited for that. It was much nicer than I remember and way more spread out. I knew we had to hit the National Museum because DD9 wanted to see Leonard Da Vinci's paintings. We got directions for the Metro and should have stuck with the original directions. Started talking to a nice man on the Metro and he gave us completely different directions. Said if walking with 3 kids, the other station would have left us off in a bad place. So we listened and that was our first mistake. Got off and saw what everyone (except me) thought was the White House. I kept saying, "No...the Washington Monument is that way and the White House is in front of it." Well we walked all the way to the Capitol only to find it all blocked off. We have some pictures of fencing and the building way in the backround.:rotfl2: We ate lunch in the Senate building because there was no other food around. Listened to some very interesting conversation but none of it made much sense to me. (Just was not Disney talk)...BORING!:rotfl: We then walked ALL THE WAY BACK to the Washington Monument, went to Union Square and the Liberty Bell along the way, hit the art museum (which was AMAZING) and walked towards the White House. We were all so exhausted, way too much walking. We now needed to find the Metro to take us back to the hotel. Walked about another 10 miles to take us on what we found the next day to be a 2 mile car ride. Our hotel was so close to everything but when we went into that tunnel we lost track of where we were and how we got there. Would probably have been better off cabing it but like I said, I did not do enough research. Spent the rest of the early evening in the pool and then we walked around looking for a place to eat dinner. The kids won out and we ate in McDonalds.:sad2: Wound up being the first of MANY trips to McDonalds during this trip. The beds were amazing and we got the best nights sleep. The hotel grounds were so beautiful too. They were having a wedding the next day and had everything all set up for it. That is pretty much it for DC. The next morning we hit the pavement again and headed to Jamestown Settlement which was fun. Small, confined, not too much walking. Perfect for us. Everyone was happy, until we hit the hotel. Thank god we were only there for one night. Our condo was absolutely beautiful, brand new, and huge. No complaints at all except for the Springhill Suites Marriott in Williamsburg. Just gross.

MKY-:woohoo: SIX:woohoo:
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I hope Bug is feeling better !!!

TP2- Disney is waiting for the 3 Princesses next year !!princess: princess: princess:

EE22- Hope DL11 is better with the bites....:flower3:

Most of my bug bites are going away! :thumbsup2 There is one though on the underside of my forearm that is especially itchy. I also still have a HUGE one on my bicep thats making my arm look bulgy. I wish it would go away cause it's itchy and on top of that it makes my arm look deformed.

TP2...we were very lucky, my step mom had been to DC several times so sort of knew the ropes and where stuff was. That is one LONG walk you were talking about. :scared1: Now you know how people at Disney feel when they don't come prepared. Poor couple staying at the BC...they drove to Epcot:confused: they were clueless.

Too funny about taking the tickets.

Doesn't sound like your room was too cool:mad:

mky: I hope Bug is doing better.

Tomar: It's about time to call Member Services again;)

I'm trying to decide if we should buy more points...just can't work out the dollars and whether we should or not.

DL11-:cutie: .....I got one at the pool at SSR ....I say "one"...but it looked like 7 buggies died on the top of my arm all at once ...and left me the wrath of thier anger !!! OMG:eek:......H-U-G-E ! ;)
If you can...but a pad...with rubbing Alcohol on the one that itches now...just until the sting and itch subsides ....:flower3:

Hi everyone.

I tried to get caught up but decided to post before calling it a night. You girls have been so busy while we were gone.

AKV - amazing with the animals and a very pretty resort. The low lighting took some getting use to and I can see why people call it "dark". They had some issues with the linked reservations and I need to call member services and complain a bit about the problems but they were all lack of DVC membership issues and housekeeping could have done a better job. Not dirty but there were things that were missed or done poorly.

I loved the animals so close. :hippie:

It was hot and lots of rain but it was actually hotter here while we were gone.

We met a great family from Wales and we spent days together at the parks and hope to keep in touch. It was nice to have someother kids for my girls to play with and I got some adult company. It worked out nicely.

MKY - I hope Bug is feeling better soon and that you have a great trip.

I enjoyed the Supercalfrajlistic breakfast (not sure on spelling) and the lunch at the Plaza Restaurant the most. You were right about needing more reservations. I ate way too many fries.

What is this about the pool closing at SSR? I hope it is only temporary, the kids love that pool. We will be there in January for 10 days and I would hate to have to miss out on the slide.

MKY - let me know about shutterbug and I will see if I can join so I can show off my pics. I bought a new camera to replace the one that was smashed in Rome. I got a Nikon Coolpix L18 for $130. It takes great pictures and is small enough for the fanny pack.

By the way...digital cameras are really only meant to last two years. Then the picture quality and lens starts to give you trouble. The first sign of trouble before the warranty deadline...send the thing back under warranty, most have a two year warranty.

More later.

:simba: :simba: :simba: :simba: :simba:
FIVE MKY!!!:cutie:
thought of you when I put Lion King stickers on my lesson plan book:goodvibes
How is Bug doing? I hope okay.

Welcome Back Candi!!

Okay...inforn me on the troubles with the ressie not linked. I had some problems with that too and I wonder if they are the same.

Shutterfly is FREE to upload your pictures too. You can pay money to print them, but I use them to send out stuff to people. I know family has ordered pics before off there so I'm sure that's how they make money.

Google has one too, but I cannot for the life of me find it. We learned about google docs and it's somewhere located on their main page. I can't remember how to get there!! BOO HOO!!! That's what they get for teaching teachers something on the last day of work before summer:confused3 Actually, I thought...I won't need that...I have shutterfly and for me, I stay with it since we have all of our pics on there from 2003. But, for someone new...google might work.

GUESS WHAT IS NOT FIXED AT SCHOOL!!
Jack says: me heat:mad:
