June/July/August 2006 Code watch

BRP was a pain but at least you knew ages in advance that you had a room and a good rate. We just got back (the weather and the trip was fabulous) and are returning in mid-July. I am staying at Beach Club Villas but want to add nights at the Wilderness Lodge, since the Deluxes go into Value season on July 5th. Hoping for a good rate! :)

if the deluxe goes into value season then, could it be cheaper if mixed with an AP discount than staying at a mod? I was thinking of adding a few days later a surprise and thought it might benice for a Deluxe for that trip? thanks ;)

There seem to be a lot of conventions booked in June and July. As we get closer rooms should start to open up (or at least I am hoping). I would think that because New Orleans is out of commission this year, a lot of companies had to rebook and chose Orlando because they have similar size convention space as New Orleans.

You can book a package thru AAA with the dining plan and still get the AAA discount on the room part of the package. I just booked 2 weeks ago for Aug., got the dining plan and saved $200 off Disney's rate for CSR.

Pluto's Honey, yes, the gap between the Mods and the "cheaper" Deluxes (AKL and Wilderness Lodge) DOES get a lot smaller after July 4th because the Mods are still in regular season and the Deluxes go to value. This is why my family will always do our Deluxe stays in summertime as opposed to on our spring break trip (when everything is high!). Whether or not the Lodge would actually cost LESS than a Moderate, I don't know. The AP discount is sometimes a percentage off the regular price of the room, and other times it is a flat rate -- $100 off Deluxe, $40 off Moderate, something like that. You just have to ask what is available and at what price when the AP rates are released.

If you get Wilderness Lodge for less than $150 in the summer, that does actually beat the regular rate for a Moderate in the higher seasons. That is what I am hoping for. When the cost for the Mods gets pretty close to the cost of the Lodge, I am always tempted to "splurge," especially in the hot and rainy summer when we hang out at the resort a lot. :)

Good luck to us all!

We're probably going late August, but before the rates go down. Any discount I can get is great as this is a budget trip.
First time back since 1999. Heat, humidity, rain-I don't care-we're finally going back!!!

Talked a Darnia: "None so far should be out sometime between the 24th of April to the 1st of May". That seems rather late to me, but then again two or three years ago it was April 21st!

Quick question for anyone that has AP....
Is there a minimum stay required to get AP discount?

And.....
Can you make the reservation before actually purchasing the voucher?
