I just called and spoke with a really nice CM. He actually checked the system and then was surprised and said no not yet but REALLY soon. He said I should call every other DAY at this point as they should be released any minute. I asked for my travel dates with checkin July 5. He said that there will definately be a discount for my travel period. Here is to wishing everyone some

I've been hoping everyday, like all of you, and reading your posts and was starting to get frustrated because we leave in 58 days. So, I thought I'd share what I learned this weekend, for those who may be as unaware of this great savings as I was. I was booked at Pop through AAA, so I did get a discount, but decided I wanted to at least stay at a mod because we will be at Disney for 10 days and this is our 4th trip in the last 2 years, so we plan to be relaxing more and enjoying the little things about Disney this time. So, finally I broke down and booked POR at rack rate, which has been driving me nuts, since I've never had to pay rack before. On Saturday, I just happened to read something about renting DVC points and how much you could save, so I started checking into it. Well, long story short, I am now booked at SSR. When I checked the Disney site, my total for my stay was $3000.06. I'm paying $1492!! Basically, nothing else is different than if we booked through Disney. We'll be staying in a studio that has a small kitchette. We still get the dining plan (without having to purchase park tickets), and we get a pool that my dd7 is salavating over and constantly asking to see the pics of. I'm so giddy, I just can't stand it!! I could never even have hoped to stay at a deluxe before!
I was hoping to get a studio at BW, but it is too close to our travel time and only SSR was left. Hopefully, all will go well, and I will start to plan next year's trip early enough to stay at BW or BC.

Renting points can definitely save you money from Sunday-Thursday, not necessarily on the weekends. And there are some differences in renting and booking with Disney. The main one is the cancellation policy is much more lenient with Disney than with renting. Also you do not get daily housekeeping, renting, unless you pay extra.

Certainly the savings can offset the differences but anyone renting really needs to be aware that while the savings is great, that one is not going to be able to cancel this trip as you would booking with Disney.

I just made a reservation through CRO with a AAA rate. When I asked about AP rates (we are going July 23-Aug. 4) the CM said to call back daily. She said it isn't guaranteed of course but she would be surprised if AP rates weren't extended through August "any day now." Hope she's right!

That is very promising because now 2 different CMs said pretty much the same thing. Now I am going to have trouble sleeping tonight thinking today is the day!!!

I can't tell you how many times we check this thread DAILY praying someone has scooped it for us & posted. I have faith that one of you awesome DISers will post that code pronto when you get it!

DH goes to bed & wakes up every morning checking the AP site for any changes .....

I called just a little while ago to add my ME flight information to my reservation. I also decided to apply the AAA discount for my August dates (figuring a little discount is better than none!), and asked the CM if I could revise my reservation if and when an AP discount comes out. She told me that I can modify my reservation to cancel the AAA discount and apply the AP discount when they are released. I asked her if she had any idea about when that would be and she told me that they don't find out until that day, but she didn't think it would be too much longer.

I have to admit I'm getting kind of bummed. We budgeted for rack rate, but there's nothing like the thrill of getting an AP rate and feeling like you hit the jackpot (plus planning where to spend the extra money you saved)!

Maybe we just need to get superstitious like last time and hit 1000 posts or something.

I also spoke with a very nice CM today (Alisa). I went ahead and reserved at POR for our 7/14 - 7/21 trip knowing I'm okay with paying rack there. We really want to stay at AKL, but not at rack rates. Alisa said that she thought that there would be AP rates out for my time period and that we'd need to jump on it as soon as we learned of them because they go fast. She said she really had no idea if or when they'd come out but she said she was really hoping for them because she knew a lot of us really want them. She said call back as often as we wanted to check.

I called today too...for just "regular people" codes for my time (June 10-13th). She looked, but no luck just yet. She was very nice though and told me not to hesitate to call daily if I wanted to, to see if anything pops up.
