Thanks for the quick response. I still can't get in. Maybe there is just a lot of traffic right now. I was so hopeful that it wasn't just me.

You know that I should have said that I did have to refresh the page at first. Then once I refreshed I was able to log right in.
I am :rotfl2: because I got a disney insider email titled"for the whole family" I was thinking woohoo.... but it was some lame cell phone thing.

I just called to schedule my flight times with Disney for the ME I plan on using. While I was giving them the info on my flights I asked about any AP discounts and the person said that they don't know ahead of time. They get the info when Disney decides to give out the codes. She couldn't tell me when or if AP codes were coming out but she didn't think there would be any for the general public for the month of July.

I don't have an AP and I tried to figure everything out for myself and it wouldn't be worth spending over S500 for a Premium Pass to save $25 a day if it turns out to be that much. I am going for 16 days to Pop.

I also asked her if she had any idea of why the free dining for August came out so early this year. She said she didn't know. It seems strange that they came out with that kind of discount for August in April. Could it be that July was overbooked and they needed people to change their reservations to August and the free dining was a great way to do it? Could it also be that the weather is supposed to be really bad in August?

Why would Disney make that kind of discount so early for August and nothing for July.

I also noticed when I went on the Disney website today that the mods are only available for the month of July at the rate of $175 a night. A few nights ago the standard room at the mods was $155.00. I don't think there are any more standard rooms available at the mods for the time that I am going in July. I was thinking about switching to a moderate if they a frig without the extra charge and a coffee pot, but when I saw $175 a night it's too much for me, even with a frig without cost and coffee pot.

The general public got the free dining and that's it I guess. This is my first time staying on Disney property and I was hoping for some sort of discount.

What kind of discount does an AP holder get during the month of July at the value resorts? Is it usually a discount of $25 a night or is it more? If it's more than $25 it might be worth it for me to invest in an AP. How much is it to renew an AP? Is it cheaper than the price of the first time purchase?

Any info will help me decide.

I think Disney knows that people will think twice about going to WDW during the peak of hurricane season without something to pull them there and it would seem that free dining has done that in some cases. Who knows. I still have my fingers crossed for AP for June/July/August pixiedust:

I know this if OT, but given the events that have happened in a co-worker's life on Sunday, I'm going to Disney, perhaps paying rack rates which are huge at AKL, paying too much for pop, food and shirts and I'll be dog-gone happy that my family is alive and well. Life can change all too fast in a matter of only seconds... :sad2:

:guilty: Good thoughts to your co-worker.

2disneycrazy,

Last july / aug 2005 discount was 80 or 100.00 off (for deluxe), for the ap discount. Not sure what the other categories where. I think mods may of been 50.00?

I agree 175 is a lot for a mod. I really love pors, thou. At a good discount it is worth it. But otherwise I would look into wl or akl, at the low 200's? Remember when mods where 89.00?

As for the "discount" on renewing, it was about 40.00 this year. However; used to be that your renewed pass start date started with first use, NOW that is NOT true. It starts immediately. So this year I did not renew, but bought new passes because we would not be able to use for 5months. So I changed my start date. You have to decide if this is a saving, or not.

I would not get an ap unless I really needed that many days tix. We have 2 trips planned this year for them and both are over 18 day time span. So I will use my tix's. You do not need ap at time of purchase, you just need one before check in. You can buy online, etc.. if there is time. If no time get one at mco, or dtd. before going to your resort.

Remember prior to 9/11 it was common to get ap rates at the last minute, or only up to 1 to 2 months before the time. And yes, they did occassionally skip a month. I remember being skipped in July once and October once. So you never know.

Eeyorelover22, hang in there. sounds like a rough weekend. princess: Maybe we will finally get good news this week. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

i called today and applied the AAA discount to our WL stay too, just incase the AP disct doesn't come through.
I asked the CM if she was getting tired of AP holders calling and asking about any upcoming discount and she said no not at all! She said they have been swamped taking calls for the free dining package and that's what is preoccupying them lately.
She said the same thing, call back and check and they'll adjust my Res.
I'm glad I got the AAA disct, that's some extra mad money!!! :Pinkbounc

Btw, logged into AP site just fine.

Goodnight y'all until tomorrow!

Morning all,

just checked the web: mousesavers, ap site, intercot, & wdwinfo. = nothing so far.

mky :smickey:

:badpc: :badpc: :badpc: Ahhh! I was sure today was going to be the day! Good thing I'm in sales and not a psychic, no esp at all apparently. :confused3 Well, thank you all for calling! Let's hope for tomorrow!!!

You never know.....it still could happen today. They do not always necessarily release them first thing in the morning. :goodvibes

Now, the passholder site has gone belly up...at least for me.
