Is anyone else getting worried or upset because they haven't extended June hrs, fireworks, or spectro yet?

I am concerned. I can't imagen being there in June and leaving the MK because it closes at 7!!!

I've been trying to plan our week around the two days that they are having the fireworks and night parade. We arrive on Saturday the 31st, so guessing we'll try to do one that night but probably not both since the kids will be exhausted. Guess that leaves Wednesday to do the other one since we're leaving the next Saturday, 6/7, in the a.m.

Upset? Wellll, C'mon in. Welcome to the party. :)

Not so much concerned as PO'd.

And, If you can't imagine the MK closing at 7PM in June, you're really going to enjoy this party because you've got lots of
like-minded friends here.

Has anyone on here written or complained to Disney yet?
I haven't but was thinking about it.

Extensively. Once for not putting the hours out earlier, and once for lack of more late closes at MK and for closing Epcot FW at 6. Personally, I kicked, yelled, screamed, then planned my vacation around what they gave me. If they extend hours, I'll be a happy camper. But I'd done being PO'd. If Disney chooses to give me lemons, I'll squeeze them into more time at Pleasure Island.

Count me in. I wrote on the community board but I'll say it here, Closing so early bites a big one. This will be my last trip to DW, my excitment has gone down the drain. I remember when they were open to midnight or maybe it was 1, now I am going to have to find something else to do. I went down to use my AP, last yr was the first yr I bought them, never ever again. big deal, I got ap rate on WL, well I am going over to US after 4 days and got a better price on the hardroack hotel with my entertainment card. I wished I had just stayed there the whole time. :(

Me too. I'm not too happy. We like to go back to MK at night - but there is no night:mad: . And that's why I pay to stay at a monorail resort - so I can hop, skip and jump to MK.

I haven't complained to Disney because I already sent two emails on another complaint and received no response at all.

The Spectro thing is another bummer. We'll be there both Sat, 31st and Wed, 4th. I've decided to do Spectro on the Sat. And with the parks being open later on those nights, it'll be so jammed packed that it may not be worth it.

The only light I see is that someone I know was there TWO weeks after Easter and she said the hours were extended. Wishful thinking.

I sent an e-mail and received a call this week. The CM basically stated that those are the hours as they stand:( It really does make it hard to plan since we made a PS for 'Ohana months ago and it is on the same night as Spectro and FITS. Then I thought we could hop over one other night-we arrive June 7th-probably going to be a little crowded at MK so I guess we will have to hop over on June 14th-I really did not want to go to MK on a Saturday but Disney hasn't given us much of a choice. I just don't understand their logic--who ever heard of a closing a MAJOR theme park at 7:00 pm during the summer:confused: I am hopeful that the hours will change and maybe a couple of nights will be added for Spectro and FITS. Let's all keep our fingers crossed:D

We also arrive on the 31st and depart the 7th.

We have to be at Houston Inter-galactic airport at 5:30 am on the 31st, so that night's spectro is OUT of the question with two youngsters!

Sooo, I booked a PS at 'Ohanas for the 4th at 5:50 pm. We plan to eat dinner and monorail over just for Spectro and fireworks.

We might do an E-nite, but not sure. Our kids are 4 and 7, so late nights aren't their thing anyway. Besides, they love Illuminations and Fantasmic, and those play every night right next to our hotel at the Boardwalk.

Forget the lemonade......Give me lemons, I'll make lemon-meringue pie!!

I hope that Disney people read these boards, which I think they do and realize what a horrible mistake they have made. I have made my feelings known on this board but I also will try to make the best of it but this may be my last trip to Disney for a while. I am hoping that they change the hours after I get there and I get to keep some of my orginal ps's and other plans. Right now I have two sets of plans.

Weve all picked a good week. lol. I was wondering, would anyone else care to share a brief outline of theri May 31-June 7th trip? I am going crosseyed trying to plan our days around the fireworks, spectro, the EE days, and one day off for a water park. Looking at the options, it would only leave Monday because every other day has something special, but I hat to take Mon off when we just got there. Any advice? Thanks!

I plan...but I also legislate flexibility in my plans. I will plan certain "events" during the trip (like parades, dinners, etc.) and will also plan what park/location we start the day. The rest is meant to be "open" to what we want to do at the time:

5/31 - arrive about noon- towncar to BWV-checkin afternoon at MGM and see Stars & Motorcars...early turn-in

6/1 - EE at MK (very effective for fantasyland with little kids) we will take a break in the afternoon and either hit WS or MGM in the late afternoon/evening

6/2 - Princess storybook breakfast early at Epcot. Will probably stay at Epcot most of this day and probably hit Illuminations late. As always a pool break in the afternoon.

6/3 Will probably do MGM for EE (not sure though) and play it by ear (this is one of two semi-open days) maybe DD in the pm or possibly E-ride nite...depends on the kids

6/4 Blizzard Beach 10am til ??? Then a 5:50 PS at 'Ohana and Spectro after dinner

6/5 Unplanned at this time except for 5:30 pm Chef Mickey

6/6 AK for early entry and see how the crowds go...maybe MK in the evening before closing (depends on hours)

6/7 MGM EE for a couple last rides and more star wars stuff. We're avoiding MK on this day for two reasons...crowds from Gay Day...and towncar picks us up at noon so we need to be close to BWV.

See what I mean about "flexible times" ???

Shawn,
You will have a blast going to WDW on your honeymoon! I went there on my honeymoon almost 16 years ago when it only had MK & EPCOT. It was a magical time!!! Enjoy and congratulations on your marriage. :)

Hey Shawn,

First off, congrats! And you made a wise choice. We went on a cruise for our honeymoon 10 years ago. As we were planning a late tenth celebration in early June, we kept asking ourselves "why did we blow all that cash on a cruise?"

Second: I've been a consistent *****er about the lack of hours. But all complaining aside, don't worry if the hours aren't cut back. Just end every night at Epcot, which is where people on their honeymoon should be anyway. And get yourself a five day pass to PI and just hit the pavement from 9 AM until 2 AM every blasted day. Somebody's got to do it...

Pat

Thanks guys,

Its not that lack of hours will ruin our trip. We will have a blast no matter what.

Only real drawback is on our first night we had planned to arrive then cindy's for a 5:05 ps then fireworks.
Now we just have to go to EPCOT after dinner.

No problem

Thanks all

Errrrr... Shawn, its your honeymoon. You might consider turning in early no matter what the hours.;) Have a great trip, and congratulations!!!

Seriously though, I've got all the complaining out of my system for now. I'm sure we'll have a great time in June, but good luck to Disney in trying to convince me to go back in the present environment. Shoot, I'm so hot I'm considering boycotting "Finding Nemo"

Has anyone else had a lack of response from WDW regarding this matter? They must have my name of "the list" now.

Zippa D Doodah,

We plan plenty of alone time believe me.:p

But come on closing at 7:00 is way to early

Shawn :jester:

I'm starting to get nervous that all my plans are going to be ruined because the park will be so crowded on the only two late nights that I'll be there. Who can we complain to? I usually have this problem when I go in May and it is just the reason why I pushed my vacation back to June this year. If I would have known the hours were going to be the same I would be there right now.

Also you have a lot of EE's planned for your Honeymoon - when my wife and I went on our Honey moon (8 years ago - same week as you guys) we never got up early for those EEs ;) - we weren't commando Disney though - but it was our BEST trip to Disney ever! And we saw alot.
