DW just got home and she thought that was a great idea! We could meet you for lunch on a Saturday or Sunday (we're running out of weekends, but that's a good thing). Are you planning on getting to Orlando early? :ears boy:

Nope, we're getting to Orlando late. The kids actually have school until June 8, but they'll be missing the last day so we can fly down to Florida. Fortunately that's just Field Day, so they're more than happy to give it up to goo on a Disney cruise!

After the cruise we'll be going to Universal and WDW.

Let me make a few posting today so we can PM. We're in the same boat with school, the 6th is our last day but we decided to leave Monday night after school lets out. The last 2 days are just 1/2 days, yearbook signing and water park visit, DW sounded better. Let me double check our schedules for next Saturday.

Consider yourselves lucky - We don't get out of school until June 12th! I teach and am going to miss the last few days of school. My district changed our work calendar long after we booked our cruise and it would have cost us too much to change it. I feel bad but not bad enough to spend thousands of dollars more to change it...LOL!

Just wanted to drop in and say hello. As my DH Johnny Quest posted a few pages back we also booked less than a week ago thanks to the DVC.

I've been reading through this thread to try to catch up as I almost feel like we crashed the party over here.

We've cruised only once - last May on the Disney Dream so this will be a great new experience. We aren't bringing our son along on this trip (he's 23 anyway) so it's just us!

We too are researching excursions and could use all the advise from anyone here on whether the Fury Catamaran in Cozumel and the 7-mile beach break in Grand Cayman are worthwhile excursions. Also if you were to do a tour of the ruins which one offers the most?

P.S. I am sorry to be missing out on the facebook group but I refuse to join that organization. No offense to those of you who have - but I cannot defend the brokering/trading on the stock exchange of a person's private online account - complete with photos; personal details; and links to their entire life/ family/friends. BEWARE: The company is going public this Friday.

Jodijo, that's a weird situation! Here the only thing that occasionally happens is they shorten the school year if there are mid-year budgest cuts (an unfortunate occurrence). What was the reasoning behind extending the school year?

Poison Ivy, I agree with you about Facebook - I refuse to join because of privacy issues: both because I don't actually want people to find me (the people from high school that I've been avoiding have been avoided for a reason) and because of the information sharing. That's why I was so disappointed to come here and discover that DisBoards had been abandoned for Facebook.

Fortunately I was able to start up a little chatter, and others joined in!

The district thought that we would have furlough days and we would be out on the 8th. Well, that didn't happen. So, we are out on the 12th. I think I was the only one in my district wanting the furlough days...LOL!

I'm about ready to jump out of my skin. These last few weeks of anticipation are torture! I find myself watching youtube videos about DCL. I try not to think about June 16. I'll be the one the CM's are going to be carrying out kicking and screaming!

Looks like there are quite a few Californians on our cruise. I visited Napa last year. That's some beautiful country!

Hello again to the new families! So glad to see our group growing. We are a family of 3 and have a DD who is 13/turning 14. Just called DCL tonight to get her birthday celebrated on the second to last night (check one more thing off the list). Also called Disney Visa Rewards to request $$ on a rewards card so we have it to pay for our tips, etc.

Can't wait to see everyone on the 9th. It can't come fast enough

I wish we were a little closer to Disneyland! Still, we get there about once a year or so, and I've fallen in love with this park!

We haven't been to WDW for 2.5 years, so it will be interesting to see how it compares in my mind...
