Where are you guys from?

Andrea, I didn't see myself (Joi) and DS on that list, and we've private messaged each other .....what do i have to do to get noticed around here ZUMBA!!!!

Hi neighbor...we're from PA also only in between Reading and Harrisburg! I see you're going on the Mediterranean cruise next summer--I think you booked it for the week after we'll be on.

I finally got serious about the cruise this weekend, something I desperately needed to do since we bumped it up by 2 months thanks to the DVC offer last week. This morning both DH and I went through our summer stuff and took inventory of what we needed and spent the afternoon shopping.

This morning both DH and I went through our summer stuff and took inventory of what we needed and spent the afternoon shopping.

Now that's what I call 'getting serious' about the cruise!

Amazing how much money we all spend to get ready for our vacations, isn't it? After the cruise we'll be home for 4 days and then are headed to DL and Aulani for 15 days. You'd think I'd be trying to save as much money as possible and make what I already have work, right???

We are home for the summer. We travel quite a bit from Dec to April for my DD's gymnastics. Luckily one meet is usually in FL, last 2 years have been at ESPN or the Orange Co convention center, so I get a small Disney "fix" then. Unfortunately we can never stay that long because she can't miss training during competition season Three years ago we came down to Tampa and they competed in the stadium the Tampa Bay Rays play in and it was 40 degrees. That is a bit cold for leotards!!

NO Shady Maple NOW! ....need to leave calorie room for the cruise!!!!!

DS plays soccer in the fall and tennis in the spring for school, but mostly for fun, he is also a Boy Scout (who just complted his Eagle Scout Project) , and loves his computer .....so he keeps busy

As I said on FB, he is friendly but thinks my DIS stuff is crazy....he likes to "meet people on the ship spontaneously" .... His name is Evan and he has sideburns like Elvis ....so if she is at the teen club, she is welcome to say hi "spontaneoulsly" of course

Looking forward to meeting both PA families onboard!

Only 19 days until we sail!!!!!

We've been holding off on seeing the Avengers, knowing that we can watch it on the cruise. Every weekend we've been watching one of the 'prequel/leadup' films for the Avengers and we just finished watching the Hulk (the last leadup movie). Now the kids are extra excited both for Universal (riding the Hulk Coaster) and seeing the Avengers movie onboard Fantasy, in addition to the regular cool cruise and WDW stuff!

We are still torn about who to use for the ruins. Obviously there's the time factor, but we've heard such great things about Native Choice and they've been very responsive to my emails and questions, so pretty sure they're not fly-by-night. People rave about them. Probably I better decide soon or all the other DCLers will take the spots, lol.

I've heard some good things about the beach trips, too, probably a good choice for taking it easy. We live at the beach, so we don't do too much of that on vacation. I hope you don't write the Stingray City thing off as a just a family excursion though... DH and I first went there on our honeymoon and loved it.

Really can't believe the trip is coming up so fast!

I saw your note on the main DIS page about Native Choice in Costa Maya. I, too, was considering booking on our own with them but am scared about the time factor (this, BTW, is our FIRST CRUISE). I really prefer to deal directly with the excursion operator rather than just pay more $$ to do a "Disney excursion". Let us know what you decide to do on this one.....we may "jump ship" if we KNOW we won't be the only ones on the Native Choice tour!

I really prefer to deal directly with the excursion operator rather than just pay more $$ to do a "Disney excursion". Let us know what you decide to do on this one.....we may "jump ship" if we KNOW we won't be the only ones on the Native Choice tour!

We went with the Native Choice with our Carnival Cruise a couple of years ago, and they were FANTASTIC! I cannot say enough good things about them.

That said, I really wanted to do both the ruins and the mayan home visit with my kids this time around (it was just me and my husband last time) and Native Choice told me I could do one or the other with the shortened time. So, I chose to go with the Disney Mayan Experience instead.

Still, if you're looking to book on your own - rest assured that if you communicate your time constraints ahead of time, your excursion leaders will make sure you get back on the ship. Its in their business best interest to do so. Make sure you're choosing an agent thats well reviewed on Trip Advisor and you really cant go wrong, IMO.

Amy, I'm fairly sure we are going with Native Choice. I was just over on Cruise Critic looking for more info again and people just seem to think they are so great (along with Tauwillow's nice recommendation). I've emailed them with the time question directly and they addressed it quite well, saying they haven't had a problem with the tour within that time window, that they do it regularly and that they do a lot of the info on the ride over for the smaller time window so you can have more time checking out the ruins. If you guys were to "jump ship" that would put me right over the edge!

I think I might just go for it. DH is going to FREAK OUT if we get stuck in Costa Maya but I've looked at all the reviews and even googled "missed the boat in Costa Maya" and none of them mention native Choice or going to the ruins as the cause of their problems (most were drunk & lost).

We always find ourselves shopping for clothes and shoes,its part of the package,the trip starts even before we do financially.lol
