June 5, 2016 - Magic Goes to England, Ireland, Scotland and France

Been a loooooong time since I've been here. Trying to figure out what I need to do and where to go!!! Kent & Marianne Dutrieux will be on this cruise. Just paid it off yesterday and booked the airline tickets today. Gotta arrange transportation between airport and Dover pre-cruise and Dover and London post cruise. Cindy i'm trying to figure out where to sign up for the FE exchange and roll call!

Welcome Marianne and Kent! I'll add you to the Who's Sailing list! Also, PM me your cabin number, favorite characters, any allergies or special occasions, and how many cabins you want for FE participation (If you want to gift to all, then say all, but if you prefer a smaller group, let me know how many - for example, if you want a group of no more than 15 cabins, that means you are gifting to 14 and will receive from 14).

My family is definitely still going! I got a rush of excitement after seeing that Dublin and Liverpool excursions were up and can't wait to see what the rest are.

My family has never done FE on a cruise before even though we always see them around. Has anyone participated in FE without having any kids in the family? I have considered participating several times before and usually love anything that makes a trip that much more special, but talked myself out of it because we didn't have any young ones!

My kids have been teenagers mostly when we have participated in the past; they are both adults now (well, as adult as an 18 and 19 yr old can be) but we are still participating. We know several others who are planning to participate who are adult only cabins. If you decide you want to participate, please PM me your info and I'll add you to the list!

Just 18 weeks until we sail away!!!

I think sometime this week the port adventures for the rest of the ports will be posted.

We have been participating since 2010 and do not have any kids with us. We enjoy it!

My DH got a call from Delta Airlines Saturday. Our flight home after the cruise has been canceled and we were changed to an 11:40am flight. He told them to email him the info, but as we were coming off a cruise ship he would have to make sure we would be able to make the flight. I'm thinking we will be looking for another flight time.

When an airline changes your flights, and they contact you to ask if you accept the change, you just say "no" if it doesn't work for you. They have to get you on a flight that works. Been there, done that. The important thing is to say "no, that flight won't work for us".

yeah looking forward to this cruise. It is my husband and I and our two kids (21 and 13). We are headed over early to explore London and Paris before our cruise. This is our 11 Disney Cruise, it's so easy from Tampa! We have also done a transatlantic but never Europe so we can't wait. This planning stuff is all so new to me. We usually just hop in the car and drive to the port. Looking for help with Normandy is this is the main thing my husband and son are dying to see. I can't wait to see the port excursions Disney has planned as well.

Hi Keri,

For Normandy, if you are interested, I have a private tour booked with Overlord Tours for Normandy, which will be an all day excursion. The van will hold 8 people and so far there are 4 of us confirmed for it. If you would like more info on it, please just pm me and let me know.

We officially paid off the cruise this weekend so we are going!! Please add me to the list of possible...

Anyhow its me, my DH and my mom going...super excited especially about Scotland.

Does anyone know if there will be an excursion to Mont St. Michel from Le Harve?

We plan to go early to spend time in London. For anyone staying in London there is a direct train from St. Pancras that takes ~1 hr to Dover. Super easy... lots of cabs waiting in Dover. We sailed from there to Norway a few years ago.

DH worked on the return flight schedule today since Delta canceled the return flight we had originally booked. Something good came out of it at least, we are now spending the night after we debark the ship and leaving the next morning at 11:40am. out of Gatwick.

Welcome Kwork11 and Suzysharp and families! I'll add you to the who's sailing list in the second post of the thread.

Hygienist999, we are also spending the night at Gatwick after debarking the ship. We are using Coastal Cars to get from Dover to Gatwick by way of Canterbury. We are staying at the Hilton at the south terminal at Gatwick based on another DCLer's recommendation. Here's the link: http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/united-kingdom/hilton-london-gatwick-airport-GATHITW/index.html

We're flying Gatwick to Orlando.

the crumps

Welcome Crumps! As the PIF date is closing in, I expect we'll have several more families signing on - looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next few months.

Has anyone looked at doing a private tour from Le Havre for Normandy? From what I am seeing it is roughly 980 Euro for a group of 1-8 people? Just trying to see if anyone else was interested in possible discussing this or sharing?

I'd be interested in discussing this further!

Hi
We will be joining this cruise. Booked on the first day but life has been hectic since then. We are extended family in one room Donna, Joan, and Sandy (room 7536) and in the other Sarah and Jeremy (room 7504). Jeremy married Sarah and joined the family. This will be his fifth Disney cruise and the rest of us this is our thirteenth Disney cruise. Looking so forward to theses ports of call as we are all of Scottish descent. We live in Lexington, Kentucky.

I added you to the who's sailing post on the first page (post #2). You'll find other links and information there as well.

More of our ports have been added. Not a lot of excursions yet but at least the ports are up for Disney to add to!!!
