Welcome Fatou, we cruise a lot too, usually in the Med, so will be great to do it on the Disney Ship, we are going more for the ship than the stops!! Definately bring anything Disney that your daughter has. We found the little ones love dressing up for dinner. Last time our dd was three and wore both Snow White and Belle, however, she is less into dresses now (6 in September), so it's High School Musical and her Mickey Mouse cape (bought in DLP)!

Packing done, think I probably have too much!! When I was working I would be away 7 days with one very very small bag. Now I seem to have got to 20kgs and a bit more. Hope it is warm, or I will be buying sweaters!

i only have the one outfit, tinkerbell and i think i am spoiling her enough, without buying her more outifits to wear!!!

i think i have packed 3 times already, it is all part of the fun!!! and to see the shock on my husbands face!

Hope i can get a magnet too?

We are flying Monarch too, a budget line, but hopefully will be on time! We will give you a wave, perhaps we should make a banner?!

Alex, you will be carrying a lot of magnets, I hope you get to hand them out, or you could be delivering all night. It is very kind of you to do them (you probably regret it now! )

We set off tomorrow morning, as some early o clock, so maybe will bump into Scott in the Tapas.

Do you only have 1 20kg bag?? That is light, we have so much stuff, I already hear myself asking why. Just added the 4'th suitcase. We will need our cat 11 just for the bags. Yikes!

Meant to ask, is there anyone travelling by train from Dover to London? We are booked to do this into St Pancras, booked in a hotel across from the station for 2 nights..

Only if Disney will not let us add the tour transport...not staying at a Dis hotel. We are near the Paddington Station

We always cruise out of Port Canaveral and either drive down or I fly us down. This time we fly to Barcelona on a commercial airline. Question is, do we lock our luggage? We have soft side luggage and my thought is if they want in the will cut anyway. Someone told me to just use garbage ties or zip ties but then we would have to find someone on the ship with scissors to cut them off. any suggestions are welcome.

We are trying zip ties for the first time. I'm carrying on nail clippers to open them. I also read to use the zip ties for your luggage out in the halls the night before you cruise.

I'm a little nervous about Monarch, as I have never flown them before. So when we arrive at London we are taking the shuttle to Luton and then flying over.


I couldn't find on their website, but I paid for 20kgs each for Jamie and I but couldn't find the luggage size for checked in bags. Is there any restriction that you know of?

Also, I read that we can both carry on one item, no more than 10 kgs each for free.

If I am misinformed about anything let me know. I also paid for our seats, 14A and 14B as I wanted Jamie to see "the rock" when we are landing in Gibraltar. Due to arrive in GIB at 6 p.m. or so on Sunday night, then will head over on a taxi to the Rock Hotel.

Can I use my euros in GIB to pay for stuff and for taxi?

A lot of places in Gibraltar accept euro, but it might be wise to have sterling for the taxi, though I'm sure the hotel would be able to exchange if there was a problem.

On monarch if you have a zb flight number you can take your 20kgs you have booked in the hold (checked in) and a carry on, which must be 'cabin' size of up to 10 kgs.

I have no idea what 'cabin size' is but think it is like a small trolley case or holdall. Usually in the airport there is a frame you can put your bag in to see of it the right size and you can buy 'cabin approved' bags.

As for size of case I think any average bag or case of about 90litrs should be fine. It has to fit on the conveyor and be thrown around a bit so you won't want it too big!

Gib do take euros but i think they would prefer pounds it depends if the rate is good.

Hi. We are also travelling into London by train but haven't booked it yet. Thought we'D just
Head to the station and go. My brother lives in London so staying with him for a few daus before we go back to States. We are meeting him at Kings cross which is basically the same station I gather..

We are already in Barcelona and having a blast... Kids are having so much fun. We've already met 2 fams at the hotel also going on DCL also. And one fam has kids same ages too. Suntransfer worked great. (Thanks for tip)

Can't wait for the meet N greet on Sat. C you all then..

Magnets are not a big deal, not that many disers on the cruise. One cruise I did Name tags and lanyards for everyone, there were alot of disers. That was a challenge. DCL now gives out lanyards and card holders for repeat guests so I don't volunteer for names tags and lanyards any more. Alex

Hi All - I am now on the Magic Med cruise and have just booked the relo cruise for this coming week. A rather silly plea for those of you on this cruise...

I was on the May 5th Med and bought a Med cruise pin, the silver ship's wheel one, that I lost this past weekend at Disney World. Stupid pin backs...I did buy some of those locking pin backs, but a tad too late...I was hoping that one of you from the US would be willing to get one for me. I will happily paypal you the cost of the pin plus shipping. PM me if you are able to help out a fellow DISer!

Hello everyone,
our train from Paris arrived this morning and today we went to the Sagrada Familia church, had lunch at 4 cats and then went up to park guell. And when I say UP I do mean up! My legs are killing me from the climb. So we are back in the room for a rest. I think we are going to use the hop on/off bus tomorrow.

So, I noticed the Novotel has not only a pool but also a pool bar listed on the roof!

well its 9.44pm, we need to be up at 5.30am tomorrow morning, and i still havent packed yet. managed to get everything else done i wanted to, but taking the car to dover and dropping the dog off at the kennels took way more time than i though it would, the traffic was hell, so i lost a lot more of the day than i thought i would.

right, going to go pack......
