June 30 2012 NYC Anyone?

We did not get anything in the mail yet. Have you already paid off your cruise? What information was in the packet?

It is so exciting to get mail on an upcoming vacation...

So guess what, I did get the planning guide from DCL. After I reposted, I asked my family and it was stuck in with some Christmas items that came in. I just love reading and anticipating for this up coming cruise.

Hi, Everyone! I just booked this cruise this morning for our family of 4, my parents, and sis. I can't wait!! We have cruised before, but never on Disney. I haven't told the kids yet. I thought hopping on this board would be a great way to share my excitement with some others :-)

Welcome aboard 911! Are you also from NY? How old are your kids?

I am trying to decide between a SPH room and a Cat 9C - 2504, both good choices and the 9C is only about $100 more...decisions, decisions.

Thank you!! We are in Virginia, actually. We find it easy to take the bus to NYC....it's quick and no stress. My DS is 10 and my DD is 5! (ok - this is the first time I have used those acronyms, so I hope I used them correctly - lol!) We booked a 9C GTY room, so I hope that will work out ok :-)

Oh, I am sure it will be great. We may even wind up near you (or you may get an upgrade as GTYs sometimes do)! I was looking at the forward 9Cs and then they disappeared and all I saw was the GTY, now I see them back...still undecided. DH and DS don't care. They would be happy sleeping in the dinghy!

Keep in touch!

Do you think they would get room service in the dinghy? LOL! Let us know what you decide on. It seems like the cruise is pretty booked as there is only Second Dining available. My parents and sis are mid ship on DECK 2 - 9C.

Does anyone know if there are formal nights / semi-formal nights etc?

Been spending all afternoon at work (cough, cough) looking at pics of the two locations and trying to decide. Now that January is here, I am REALLY excited. There will probably (although won't be certain until early June when the first 8 night goes out) be at least one formal and two semi-formal nights. Below is from the DCL website for 7 nights, so I expect it to be similar:

On 7-night cruises:

First night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Three additional "cruise casual" nights—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One formal and one semi-formal night—formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress; semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit. pirate:

Welcome disney911!!!

It's -16F here this morning.. I am dreaming of the cruise today!:goodvibes

Did anyone else get their info packet from DCL recently? Got mine in the mail last week and started to really get excited about this cruise.

Based on the info in the packet I changed my departure flight time since it said to not book the flight for before 1:30 if using DCL transfers. I originally booked my flight using the time frame they usually use for Orlando. Oh well! At least I've got airfare and transfers booked! Really looking forward to relaxing on this cruise!

Got ours too not sure when it was delivered, it was thrown into the "bill" pile, dd is home from college saw it was from Disney Cruise thought it was a payment notice.

Departing at 5 I thought it was 4, I know it is only an hour plan on being on board ASAP, just a little excited

Closing in on 180 days to make DDR

I was wondering on the Disney day what time do you think we leave the park to go back to the boat? I checked and it take 1 hour and 15 minutes to drive to the cruise port from Magic Kingdom. With leaving at 11:30 I think we may miss any kind of fireworks at the parks.

What is everyone doing in Nassau? Has anyone heard anything about Blue Lagoon?

According to the Disney site last bus leaves MK at 11:00 PM, and the park closes at 10. It is probably way to early to hold Disney to any concrete schedule.

Nassau we will probably just do a horse and buggy tour, the pirate: museum, Junkaroo beach, and hit up Senior Frogs. It is pirate: night so we will back on the ship early to get ready.

Thank you! We are all so excited...except the kids who don't know!

That is so awesome that the kids don't know. We surprised my daughter with a long weekend Disney trip for her Birthday in Sept. She thought she was going on a business trip with me until we got to the airport and told her. The look on her face was priceless!!!!

My son and I did the Blue Lagoon tour on our cruise in '04. We really enjoyed it. It was a pretty low key day, kayaked in the lagoon, ate at the beach BBQ, nice boat ride to and from the Lagoon. (Saw Atlantis from the water). I'm not sure how much it has changed since then. We didn't do the Dolphin Encounter since we had already been to Discovery Cove,

Do you have any websites about the horse and buggy tour and museum? What is Junkaroo Beach?

Nothing from the actual horse and buggy people but read some info on http://family.go.com/travel/things-...horse-drawn-carriage-tour-of-historic-nassau/ and cruisecritic.com. Same for Junkaroo beach. We are just going to "wing" it, heard different reviews about Nassau some people like it others won't leave the ship.

Love surprise trips did that for dd a few years ago for Christmas planned a long New Years Day weekend in Disney World, wrapped a small suitcase with the trip details inside. It took a few minutes for it to sink in but then the facial expression was priceless. Between the excitement of the trip and the surprise I was afraid to talk to her for a month which I am sure she loved.
