:cool1: I checked our account on DCL and we were upgraded from a Cat 11 to a Cat 7. :Pinkbounc We are getting so excited.

:goodvibes

woohoo!! that is awesome!

Is there still a DIS meet on embarkation day?

It's so hard to believe how quickly the cruise is coming. I've made out my list for packing and hope it will help me be less stressed out on the morning of departure. My family and I are so looking forward to a break.

Has anyone gotten their cruise tickets yet? :confused3

Tam-Pa - I think there is a DIS meet scheduled for embarkation day at 2:30/3:00 pm on the "secret" balcony on deck 7 Aft. I am planning on being there with my DH and DS to meet everybody. I made pins from the Home Depot paint chips to identify ourselves as DIS people. :thumbsup2

Imok - Congratulations on your upgrade!

No I have not received my cruise documents yet, but I'll be looking for them in about a week or so.

DWeaver - Thanks for letting me know about the DIS meeting. I hope my family & I can make it. It is our first cruise, so I am not sure what to expect.

Imok - I'll 2nd the Congratulations! on our upgrade.

Did everyone register on-line for our cruise? I did and just hope that I've done everything that I had too. Excursions are booked, I registered my credit card and who is authorized to use it (kids are not), and I believe I did register them in the clubs with the decision of letting them sign themselves out, as long as they stayed together. They are 10 and 12 and we've already had a few talks on how important it is to stay together on the ship. I'm a lecturer (not professionally) so I'm sure they will get another lecture on the way there. It's getting closer and closer :hourglass

Imok - Correction "your upgrade"

No upgrade for us, but it's nice to hear about others'. :cheer2:

Tam-Pa - I registered for everything online too. :)

Now I don't have to run around the ship like a mad woman to get Palo ressies and my DS registered at the Club, etc... We went on our first Disney cruise last June and that first day was a bit crazy with all that we needed to do. It was dinner time by the time I was able to sit down and relax. I am feeling a lot better about this embarkation day since we were able to register online for almost everything. We plan on getting to the port early so we can get a good boarding number and I believe the Kid's Club/Lab should be in the port so we can go ahead and get the pager for DS. Then after we board we will be going to the Mickey Pool, where DS will get to play and we can have lunch while we wait for the room to be ready. This time I plan to start relaxing a lot sooner! :goodvibes

Any other cruisers on this cruise from the Tampa Bay area? We can share stories about how we only have to drive a couple of hours to either be at Port Canaveral or less to Walt Disney World. :rotfl2: :moped:

yeah sure.... rub it in!

;)

We are driving from Dallas to just north of Dayton Ohio.. THEN down to Cape Canaveral for the cruise.. then back to Dallas (after 5 nights at Vero).

It will be just over a 3000 mile trip when all is said and done. :crazy2:

..I am hoping our docs come tomorrow. Did you have to sign for them? I am going to be in and out all day. Our youngest DD turned 13 on Tuesday. Tomorrow (Friday) is her party. 14 teenagers will invade my house.. 12 are spending the night. I am going to need this cruise and something frozen, tropical and yummy to drink to recoup from this party.

I contacted DCL yesterday and they told me that ours had been sent out by UPS and that it should arrive by Monday. :woohoo:

:Pinkbounc We booked our Magic Kingdom through AAA since it was a last minute decision. We got those yesterday. Our TA said we should have our cruise docs on Monday!!! We are so excited....Between the end of school and getting ready for a cruise our house is way to crazy!!! But the good part is I can get my girls to do anything right now :smooth:

We booked through Dana at ******. I asked her if she would get the docs and then send them to us and she said that Disney should send them directly to us.

What is everyone elses experiences using a TA? Did the docs come right to you or go through your TA first? We leave in less than 2 weeks and I would be really bummed if we missed our docs.

I came home today from DS's karate practice and the Cruise docs were on my front porch! DCL had said they would be in on Monday but they came in today. :)

DVC Jen - No signature required for the delivery of cruise docs. I think that a signature wasn't needed because the doc's weren't actual tickets. Since DCL started the online check-in, the only things that were contained in the package were the Bahama Immigration forms, the luggage tags and the information about purchasing transportation vouchers. (We didn't buy them since we are driving our own car down to FL.)

DVC Jen - I booked directly with DCL this year, but last year I used a TA and the docs were sent to her first. She called me when she received them and offered to mail them to me, but I went and picked them up at her office instead of waiting 2 more days. I didn't want to chance them getting lost in the mail.

I guess if I don't get mine by Monday I will go ahead and call Dana at Mic Dan and see if she does have them. Hopefully she can send them to me fast if she does.

To all the Disney Moms - have a GREAT day!!!

My DS7 had his 1st Communion yesterday so my focus is back on the cruise!!! I've been reading the trip reports and going over my packing list and I have a few questoins maybe the repeat cruisers can help me with:
1-Do the character breakfasts require a reservation?
2-How much cash should I plan on taking and in what form (traverlers checks, USDs,etc??) I'm not a "carry cash" person and rely mostly on my Disney VISA ordinarily. We have excursions booked at all stops so I really don't anticipate doing much shopping while in port. I guess tipping needs to be done in cash, right?

Hope I get our docs tomorrow!!!!

Baloo10 I remember 1st communion :goodvibes What a special time. We have kind of been in the same boat with dance competitions, recitals and Friday a big birthday/slumber party for our now (officially) 13 yr old DD. We hosted our first "boy/girl" party. We had about 10 girls and 3 boys here. (13 and 14 yr olds). I was pretty nervous about the whole thing, but it went GREAT! What a terrific group of friends our daughter has. I was very proud of all of them. The only downside was one boy was not all the respectful of the girls. But the other two boys quickly put him in his place, much to our amazement. Then that boys girlfriend broke up with him during the party and somehow our DDs cell phone ended up in the pool. So she is without a cell for a good while. :confused3

OK enough boring you with the details of our life. :teeth:

We won't be bringing much cash with us at all. Pretty much just for tipping. We aren't big carry cash people either. We use our check card for just about everything.

Happy Mother's Day Ladies ... just under 3 weeks to go! :cool1: :cheer2: :cloud9:

:) Happy Mother's Day! :)

Baloo10 - We will bring some cash (tips, small stuff, misc...) but will mostly rely on our credit cards. Only plan on using one card but am bringing another for back-up. Have heard about some credit card companies freezing accounts due to unusual or large charges. My brother had it happen to him on his honeymoon cruise. Thankfully it was cleared up with a phone call since they didn't bring a back-up card. The company had told him that they had suspected it was stolen and froze the account and had left him a message at home. Of course he was on a cruise ship and didn't know about it till he tried to charge something at one of the ports.

:rotfl: We also had a first Communion for my DD7 last week and went to college graduation for my DD22 yesterday!! Now we are really ready to cruise. We hunted for our snorkle equipment and extra suitcases today!! We are so looking forward to a relaxing time on the ship. Happy Mother's Day to all the mom"s
