Anyone on this cruise that also cruised the Med. 7/7/07? or
Northern Europe Baltic Cruise 7/18/10?
Just wondering if we'll recognize anyone, it is fun when that happens.
We are also booked on this cruise! It will be our 7th Disney cruise, but the first time ever going over to Europe. We are super excited, and a bit nervous! We are also booked for the Adventures by Disney pre-cruise 3 night Barcelona trip. (We had to close our eyes at the price, and pull the trigger - LOL!) Anyone else planning on going on it?
It will be myself, DH, and DS (20)-we will be celebrating his birthday on the ship, and DS (16)
By the way, we are leaving next week to try out the Fantasy!![]()
Any Passporter fans out there? Amazon has the 2011 deluxe (binder version) for less than $9.00
Anyone know where they are staying in Barcelona?
We stayed both times (2007 +2010) in a Disney hotel in Barcelona and they are always first class and a good location. Not cheap but very nice.
Do you remember the name? Thanks!
Janet, here's a link to the Passporter.com web page cruise book listing It's a generic DCL book for the year, and it's updated pretty much every year. The nice thing about the Deluxe one that's listed on Amazon is that not only is it CHEAP, it's a binder, and you can order just the updated pages from Passporter.com. The 2012 update is not yet printed, but there's great information in the 2011 version.
Here's the amazon link for the 2011 version $9.49 today,
On the Passporter website, the Deluxe version is $47.95
I am booked on the cruise! Looking into rebooking when I get on the Wonder to Alaska on Monday.
Thanks Lynda for the information. I'll look into it.
When do you find it best to book the flight? Have you found it better to wait or to book the flight as soon as they are available? I have never flown out of the US. Is there a particular airline that you find is the best?
Hope I'm not asking too many questions.
Janet...
p.s. I had to take out the urls as I can't have urls in my post yet.
Janet, get a number in your head that you are comfortable with and if the Or is at or below buy it. For the med in 2010 my number was 1000 per ticket. I end up paying just under that in Oct, we sailed in Aug. I'll start looking for air in July, when it's released. My number this year is 1250. Air to Europe is up significantly fom 2010. We will be flynging out of JFK, and that is usually the cheapest US airport for flights to Europe. We have one free ticket on delta, so that's who we are flying. If I can get one ticket free and pay 1250 or less for the other three, I'll buy it and not look back.
What day are you looking at to leave? We are thinking that we might leave from NY. Should have 3 free tickets on Delta.
We are flying out the night of the 25th. My kids are in school until that day, so we can't fly out prior to that...... DD will be in HS and have finals until the last day........
Anyone know where they are staying in Barcelona?
HI GYDELL!! Welcome home from Hawaii! Are you unpacked?
We are interested in a day or two in Barcelona and have no clue how to even find a place to stay. Any suggestions?
Jan
Still unpacking! Have at trip in 10 days to the beach and then when I get home from there I have 9 days until a cruise on the Fantasy. Don't know if I'll ever get unpacked!
I have been looking at Tripadvisor for a hotel. Last time we stayed near the airport but this time want to stay on Los Ramblas(sp?). Looking at the Montecarlo. Don't know if we can have 3 in a room since we have Brent with us. Figure I will get to work when I get home July 1st. Let me know when you know where you're staying.
We know no Spanish! We stayed 2 days after the cruise last time but are planning on staying 2 days before this time. Just make sure and have the hotel write down where you are going so you can show the cab driver. Most of them spoke some English too. We want to stay in the middle of everything this time so we can walk every where since DH hasn't been and may want to do more than Brent. You could unpack to wash clothes and fold them right back into the suitcase! FANTASY!! Wow--I look forward to that but have not got one booked.
Having never been to Spain and knowing only enough Spanish to count to 10, name colors, order in a Mexican restaurant and ask for the bathroom, we were not secure making our own arrangements to take the TransAtlantic 2010 so let DCL fly us to Orlando and home from Barcelona directly after the cruise.
Our Barcelona excursion was to Sagrada Familia as I am FASCINATED with it and we want to see what is new since then. That is our reason for wanting to go early or stay late.
Our Spanish is still not good so being there on our own is spooky.
What are your pre- or post- cruise plans?
