June 27 2010 5 Night Bahamas - Double Dip

We'll be coming on this cruise as well...me, hubby and 16yr son. This will be crusie #8 for hubby and I and #4 for DS. Disney cruise #4 for all 3 of us. In the past we've done the 4 day Disney cruise and a 7 day Disney cruise. Wanted to do another 7 day this summer, but did not want to pay to fly to Europe so we settled for the 5 day cruise, followed by 3 days at DW.

This evening we book several exercisions- Dolphin swim for DS and I while hubby scubas in Nassau, then parasailing for all 3 of us the 2nd Castaway Cay day.

I've been looking at the fish extender thing and while I think it sounds fun I am 100% certain that DS and DH will think it is a bit lame, but who knows I can still do it on my own!

BTW, we are also DVC members. Does anyone know if they still have any of the special gifts and special cocktail party for DVC on board? In the past I know we got some nice extra swag as DVC members.

So just wondering if there are any FE planned for this cruise, or is it too early to plan? BTW, it doesn't look like there are many from this board on this cruise as compared to some others. I'm kinda hoping that this means that the cruise won't be too full :)

It would be great if we are the only ones on the boat...haaa..yes somebody was planning to do the FE's

Hi,

I have a DD13 who would love to email before the cruise. PM, me. I also have a 3 nephews comine 1 is 13 and twins 10.

Just thought that I would share...

Just got off the phone with DCL to find out about the special dining nights because I wanted to make sure that we aren't booked for Palos on Dressy Night or Pirates IN the Carrabean night. Anyway, the Pirate night will be the third night- our Nassua day and the Dressy night is the 4th night, our day at sea.

Hope this info helps your planning as well.

I am renting a car from Budget for a couple of days before the cruise from Budget - dropping it off in Cape Canaveral and again for getting back to the airport. Got a email from Budget today for 50% of weekend rentals though the end of June so I saved about $35 on that one and then I checked the return rental which wasn't 1/2 off but I saved another $15 on it. Just wanted to give my fellow cruisers a heads up----love to save $$$.

Is everyone getting excited about the upcoming cruise? We are almost into May which means only 2 months away.:banana::banana:

Has anyone done FE where they upgraded their cabin at port? How do the other participates know your new cabin number? When I did FE last time an email was sent out with everyone's name, kid's name and ages, and cabin number. Has anyone done this differently? Just curious as we might be looking for an upgrade when we check in at port.

I am hoping for this as well, but I am not sure the kids will like it. From the posts I have seen the ages of the kids going so far are younger than my DDs. I have a 12DD and 15DD and last cruise they made lots of friends. We will just have to wait and see what happens. If the ship is too empty will they start selling rooms at a greater discount just to fill it up?

3rd Cruise, 4 days on the Wonder in 2007, and the 7 night Western last year. Myself, DW, DD, and DS. Love that Mouse. 60 days and counting, should probably book airfare

Hi All,
My DH, DD 12 years, DN 10 years and I will be on board. We have been on one 7 day cruise, and two 3 days cruises. We love it! I heard about the DIS board through passporters. I have been reading the thread and just learned about Fish Extenders/Gifts. I would love to be a part of it. Please let me know when the plan is set.

I think I am going to officially book today or tomorrow for this cruise! :cool1: The June Florida resident rates came out and they are too good to pass up!

Good Evening from beautiful Vero Beach, FL. We just booked our cruise today and LOVE to do the whole Fish Extender thing! Count us in! We are happy to coordinate since we organized it once before with great success! We have a DS who is 5 and a DD who is 9. This is our 6th Disney cruise - we are always shopping for the Florida Resident rates!

Again, let us know if you want us to coordinate and we will get right on it!

The Carlons of Vero Beach:cool1:

^^^Ooooooh FE gifts. I would imagine the coordinator would have to gather info. on how many people are willing to participate in the exchange before proceeding any further. Let us know what we have to do. Btw, your kids and mine are very close in age. My DD is 9 and my DS is 4.

Since there doesn't seem to be anybody coordinating and it appears that we might have some takers. Then we will let the coordination commence!

So, here is what we need to know:

Disboards Name
Children (ages and sex)
Cabin Number

We will then post to this thread.

For example:

CarlonsofVeroBeach
DD 9 and DS 5
Cabin: - 6512 (this isn't actually our cabin, it has not been assigned to us yet - but you all get the idea).

Please let us know if you have any questions.

We are on this cruise (our first) and looking forward to it! When I tucked DD in last night, she checked the guest room to see if we are packed yet, lol! My kids will be 8 two days after the cruise ends.

We are in!!! (again!) Booked on board last summer to celebrate my DD 13 birthday, then cancelled when we booked the maiden voyage on the DREAM, as the purse couldn't swing both. Found an great FL resident discount today, so we are back!!! Very excited! My husband is staying home to take care of his mother, so it will be a girls only trip (DD12 - will be 13 July 1 and DD6) to celebrate DD's birthday.

It will be our 6th Disney cruise! :cool1:
