June 27 2010 5 Night Bahamas - Double Dip

Hello everyone, we have finally decided on a date for our next cruise and it falls on our 23rd anniversary:woohoo:. We have two DDs (12 and 15) who are looking forward to the cruise, hopefully they can make some new friends here before we sail. This will be our 4th Disney cruise and we love coming back. We did the fish extenders on our last cruise and it was great, so looking forward to that again. Can't wait to chat more.

Hi Susan,

We're going to miss you guys! We are not cruising this summer. We're trying to go to Hawaii instead. We are going on the new ship July 19, 2011. Any chance you guys can sail then too?

Hey, the DDs were asking if you all would be on this cruise and I told them not this time. They are wondering who they are going to hang with if your DDs aren't there :sad2:. Every other year we do a family vacation/reunion so 2011 is a family reunion date (but I know my DH would rather go on the cruise:confused3). So we can't do a cruise that year. We will probably shoot for something in 2012 (high school graduation trip). Are you in the Roy O suite again? I can't image how it will look on the new ships. Where is your cruise heading, what islands? We are bummed that we are only doing a 5 day cruise but there are no 7 day cruises next summer in Florida. Going to CA is just too far although we loved touring around CA before the cruise. I just got back from Hawaii on business. I took some personal days so I could see the islands. I visited Oahu in August and Maui in February. I loved them both. The girls have been wanting to go so badly but the cost for flying over was just too high and it would have required us to take them out of school for a long period of time (just can't do that with high school classes). Maybe Disney will do a tour over there some day and we can just book that :thumbsup2.

We will miss you on this cruise,
Susan

I participated in the fish extenders exchange on my last cruise and we didn't really set it up until we got closer to the cruise date. Someone will have to be a keeper of the list of families participating. This list should include: cabin number, names of all cabin members, ages of all cabin members, and any food allergies. As we get closer to the cruise date the list is emailed out to the participants and everyone buys gifts (candy, stickers, pens, pins, etc...) for the various cabins. All participants need to purchase or create a "fish extender" that hangs off the fish outside of your cabin door (google on line fish extenders to see what they look like). During the cruise you pick a day to deliver your gifts to the other cabins. You can deliver them all on the same day or on different days, it doesn't matter but we try and spread it out so that people get surprises through out the trip. The gifts are placed into the fish extender pockets. You can put your name on your gifts or not, either way is fine. It is a lot of fun and the kids love getting little surprises throughout the cruise.

:wave2: Count us in! We made the down payment on this cruise. We're hoping to make it. We will be at WDW 4 days prior to the cruise.

OK it has been freezing here since the weekend and it is not going to get an warmer :scared:. I can't wait till the summer and sitting on Castaway Cay :beach:.

Just wanted to say Happy Holidays to all our fellow cruisers. Just wanted to give you a heads up - if you fly Southwest their summer schedule will open up on Dec. 16th! Finishing up plans for our Christmas vacation in two weeks to Vero Beach and WDW - sure hope it is warmer there than here in Illinois!

We'll have a large family group as well, celebrating 1 college graduation, and three high school graduations... should be 17 of us ranging in age from 1 year all the way up to retirees. Twelve of us are DCL veterans, and the rest will be on their first cruise. Can't wait for them to experience the fun!

It looks like we'll not be able to join in after all.... instead of cruising, this large family group will be attending my grandaughter's wedding this date. (Yes, we tried to talk them into marrying on the ship....to no avail)... wishing you all a great cruise!

Does anyone else feel like this is a small group of Dis'ers going on this cruise? There seems to be a small number of chats on this thread for a cruise that is departing in 6 months. Is it just me or are more Dis'ers trying to go on the new boats and not taking the trips in 2010?

Susan

Might be the extra cost on the 5 days during the summer.. or might be people are going to Europe...

*shrug*

We are a group of 4 adults and 4 kids: DD 13 and 3 nephews - 1 is 13 and twins are 10. We are excited to be going is will be the first cruise for some.

Hi Everyone:

My Family and I are joining you on the June 27th cruise. For most of us, this will be our 7th Disney cruise. We haven't all gone together in several years though since the kids are getting older and busy with a ton of activities. We are so excited! Castaway Cay is our favorite stop. There are 12 people in our group, 3 who have never been on a cruise before.

What shore excursion is everyone thinking about doing?

I think for Nassau we might just relax at the pool, at Castaway the 2 - 13s want to do the teen excusion on Castaway on one of the stops. Me relax and not think.:rotfl2:

Hi Everyone! My name is Ellen and this is my very first post on Disboards. I am a single mom and my traveling companion is a five going on fifty year old princess! I just booked the June 27th Five Day Bahamian and we will be in celebration mode! I am turning 35 and my daughter Makayla will be turning 6 and will also be newly graduated from kindergarten. This will be our second cruise, also second Wonder cruise. We did the 4 Day Jan 09 and we both loved it! When people ask Makayla what she loves about it she says, Well, It's just wonderful!! I am just dying to get the inside scoop on the differences and perks on the Five Day! Tell all if you know! We love, love, love Castaway Cay. One of the prettiest places ever. Well, if anyone is looking for dinner companions we are a family of two and we love to eat good food! Look forward to chatting with all our fellow travelers!!!!!
See ya real soon!!!! Ellen & Makayla

What I want to know is which night they will have Pirate Night. Want to figure out which night to take our 18 DD to Palo for dinner for the first time.

Well, it is windy and getting cold here on the East coast :scared1: so I thought I would think about summer and check in on the cruise board. I can't wait for it to get warm :beach: and to start planning hard for the trip. We have never been on a 5 day cruise before. We have done one 4-day cruise and the rest have been 7-day. I like the longer cruises but there weren't any offered for this summer. Hopefully we will be able to squeeze everything in to 5 days. Any hints on how to get everything in?

Susan

Just got an email from Disney, looks like the excursions are about the same. Except there is a seal encounter in Nassau and a Blue Lagoon Beach Day you can do along with the Dolphin Encounter!
I hope someone will hop on the thread and let us know more about their five day experience!!!!!
