June 25, 2005 Mexican Riviera..anyone going with us?

This is our second time on the Magic. Last year we had yellow tags too. When sailing on the Wonder, the tags are blue. That's all. Just an identification tag I guess.

The only difference in tags are the departation tags. They will give you tags to put on your bag the last evening. I think that helps them put them in the place they need to go when you get off the ship and retrieve them.

I remember last year and the year before, I was so afraid of my those tags coming off my luggage. I can just picture someone at baggage claim not picking up MY luggage cuz my yellow tag fell off. So I lamanted them and cable tied them to my suitcases. I just cut off last year's yellow tags to put this year's tags on. I kidded with DH, last year we in a Cat3 and I kidded to him "do you think if I left these old tags on, they'd put is in our old room?" :rotfl2: Ah, yeah, right. :sad2:

My DS15 is reading over my shoulder right now and he is so excited! He only has 2 more days of finals and of course, can't wait to sail.

He was asking me about other teenagers sailing. We started to read back to page one, but I sent him to bed.

Any teenagers out there? He wants to start chatting... (what a shock :rolleyes1 )

Pizzieduster, Yes you can tell him that there are other teens out there. DD Laura has been done with school for almost two weeks now and is in full "summer Mode". She sleeps late, and hangs around all day watching tv, going to the pool, and "chatting on AIM". She just recently got her driver's licence. She is the first of her circle to get her licence and would love to be able to drive her friends around so they can go DO something. She is not allowed (for 6 months), by California law, to carry passengers under the age of 20 without an adult over 25. It's been kind of a bummer for her as we are usually the taxi service for her and her friends and now she wants to be the taxi, but can't!

Anyway, she is excited about the cruise as well and is hoping that Disney does the teen program better than Carnival or Royal Carribean. Either way I'm sure she will have fun. I'll ask her about chatting beforehand when she gets up today. She has so many screen names, I'm never sure which one she uses.

Hey! Just noticed that we are all now what the Army calls single digit midgets! Only nine more days. We're so short, that before long we're all going to need boosters to reach our keyboards! :cool1:

Have been working on my door sign this afternoon. After the little earth quake we had here this after noon I need to something to keep me busy. I would scan it everyone to see but scanner is not working so you will just have to come down to see it on my door

:earseek: Yes that was quite a shaker today, wasn't it?
Ok what are the door signs for...I guess I don't "get" it. I know they go on the outside of your cabin door but...??? Ok after all the shopping i have done the last 2 weeks...alittle here and a little there....I've come to realize...I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO AND STILL GET! uugghh!
I wonder if the weather is going to warm up....hope so, otherwise I'm going to have to get warm clothes together.

OK, I don't know how I missed it, but I didn't feel a thing this afternoon. :confused3 I hear it was sometime around 1:30 or 2pm, right. I was sitting in the mpr of Tom's school, waiting for graduation ceremonies to start. I guess no one else noticed it either as I never knew a thing till I saw Audrey's post about it. Sure felt the one earlier this week though.

Been looking for pirate garb for pirate night, but not much luck. Anyone got any hot tips on where to look?

Still working on that "mountain" in the garage. When I've scaled it maybe I can start packing. I'll be sure to include some jeans and sweatshirts, just in case.

PizzieDuster, Laura said she would be glad to chat. I'm sending you a pm with her AIM screen name and e-mail so she and your ds can talk. If he sends an e-mail just have him mention the Disney Magic in the subject line so she doesn't delete it. She is getting excited also and keeps asking me questions about the cruise.

I Went to the party store across the street from target I got myself a hat and eye patch for pirate night.I have a red and white shirt and am going to wear jeans. dd has to get the boys something yet. I will let you know where she gets them something cheryl.

Thanks Audrey, is that the one in the shopping center where Olive Garden is? Haven't been there yet, I started on this end of town and am working my way across. Went to Party City in Stevenson's Ranch last night, they had lots of tropical stuff, great if you are having a luau, no pirate stuff cept bandanas and we will be getting those onboard! How goes the cabin list? I'm really starting to think that if embarkation doesn't get smoother, we will most likely miss the meet at scoops. :sad2: Even is dh leaves work right on time, and we leave as soon as he gets home, (not a problem, kids and I will be :Pinkbounc and  ) we won't be at the port till 2pm or so. When we arrived this late once before we were able to walk right on with no wait, but it does not sound promising this time.

Thought I was done shopping cept for the pirate stuff, but I got a gift card for the mall as a thank you from the teachers I work for. So now I'm thinking a new dress for formal night, umm, yeah, maybe so.

Well got through my daughter's High School graduation - who says it doesn't rain in California in June! It drizzled the entire ceremony. Felt sorry for the graduates (it was on the football field) at least we could have umbrellas. Made grad night pretty much of a wash out because they went to a local goofy golf type place and you couldn't use any of the outdoor facilities so when the lazer tag arena broke down, fairly early on, they werre left with pinball for the rest of the night. My daughter said she put a bunch of chairs together and went to sleep :teeth:

Will wash clothes this weekend and get things packed this week. I am determined to use only one suitcase for my soon to be husband and I. We are driving our camper down so if it still looks like too much stuff I can easily store it until we get back.

My planning this week will be to finish getting the wedding stuff together. Bought a bunch of stuff to decorate tables with - but we still haven't gotten the license so I need to work on that...of course he will be out of town on business Monday and Tuesday of next week so we are running out of time! I finally found the dress I will wear (we are having a luau theme so wanted something comfortable - third time was the charm and when you are ordering from hawaii and having to send things back it gets crazy!) Still have to find something for my daughter to wear...but have the name of a great store in Cabo that does a lot of hand made linen clothes in all sizes so we will shop there.

Hopefully the next week will fly by ----but go slow -----because I am beginning to realize all that I need to get done!

See you all soon! :wave2:

My boys do not want to dress up for pirate night, so I guess we will just be doing tropical stuff. EVerytime I think I have most everything I need, I am starting another list! I will be the one with a mountain of luggage for just the three of us, and trying to talk strangers in line into taking some of our stuff on board! Today is their last day of school, so now the countdown begins in earnest.

Hey - does anyone know how many posts you have to have made before you can post a link to the board? I was thinking I would post a link to my album on snapfish after the cruise and maybe others who use such a service could do the same so we can see all the pictures. But as of now, I'm not allowed to do that. I may have to start posting to every thread on the board. You know - "great idea", "thanks for sharing" "pixie dust coming your way".... to bump up my total! :rotfl:

I was looking over the Sun navigator and how does 9:30am SUN OUTSIDE PROMENADE LOUNGE DECK 3 AFT.sound for our second meeting and for those who did not make the first one on Sat at SCOOPS 3PM. If there is any change once we get on the ship we have your cabin # and we can let you know you can always ask someone that you see with green mickey head what is going on. well a week from today is our big day. I am looking out my window here and the sun is out already and it is only 7AM so maybe the June morning weather Well going to shopping mall today to just walk around with dh don't need anything just something to do. Let me know if Sun idea is ok with everyone or any other sugggestions would be great. it is still time to send me your cabin # so we can stay in touch if you haven already either here or my email dbel6872@aol.com

Hi all,

I've finally caught up on the last two weeks of laundry! Now I just have this week's to do. Shouldn't be too dificult as I can now see the washer and dryer!

Lisa, sounds like wedding plans are coming together. There is always so much to do for a big event like that. Just don't forget that licence. :earseek:

Audrey, 9:30am on Sunday works for us, I think. The only thing that I can think of that might conflict, for us at least, is the character breakfast. That and getting the kids up and out before noon. :rotfl: But who says they have to come anyway. :rolleyes1

Cheryl

I forget about the breakfast I think I should rethink the time for what if we have character breakfast on SUN. well I will look at navigator again and give another time and place thanks cheryl

Audrey, I don't think we will ever find a "perfect" time that everyone can get together for a DIS meet. Maybe the best bet is to schedule 2 or 3 at different times over the first two days or so. i don't know, :confused3 maybe the Sat 3pm at scoops and 9:30am Sun like you suggested and one more maybe Sun or Mon afternoon? That way You've got a chance of making it to at least one. Another thought is to meet right after sail away, that way at least we know everyone is onboard. ;)

What do you all think?

Cheryl

Sunday works for me...I am pretty sure. We have brunch at 10:00 so we will head there after. If we have our character breakfast then I will just have to be in three places!

And sailed into the county clerks office at 3:55 yesterday (they close at four) and got the marriage license! The easiest part of this was the minister - my sister is officiating :)

Lisa, glad you got the licence, talk about calling it close. That's the one thing you can't forget!

We have brunch resies for 10:30 Sunday. I for one do not have a problem meeting at 9:30 even if our character breakfast is on Sunday. We have early seating so it would be early, I think around 8am. :earseek: We may end up skipping it anyway.

Cheryl

so if the character breakfast is at 8am we will be ok if we want to have any other meets we can talk about it once we get on the ship for now lets leave it at just the two I will post both again on Wed in case some are leaving earily and will bring post it notes for the ones we have room # for and also will pass room # list at meetingsat either the 3pm or Sun meeting.

Hi everyone. Got my pirate stuff, nothing too fancy just some hats, eypatches and some "bling bling" in the form of glow necklaces. I still may get a new dress, but it's not vital, just a maybe. Only 6 more days, guess I'll have to start packing soon.
