June 25, 2005 Mexican Riviera..anyone going with us?

I started doing some packing today just putting things in the suitcase when I really pack I will take everything out and put things in right. I found my over the door shoe bag I have never used one before but with both dd and myself we can sure use it. I was hopeing that someone would post from June 18 cruise by now but nothing. Well we have gotten a lot of good information so if no one posts from this cruise so be it.

I just emailed a co-worker that was on the June 11th. I will post any new details I may find out!!!! My DD(4) broke her arm the last week of school on the monkey bars (imagine my dismay - a broken arm :earseek: for the cruise no less :guilty: ) well I just talked to the doc and we get to have an early x-ray with a possible early removal of the cast. If it is healed enough, they will remove the cast and let us bring her in a removable splint thing. :confused3 I am hoping. She is fine with the cast - either way will be fine but I would like her to be able to swim (not a waterproof cast).
My family is counting down the days!!! We leave for CA in 4 days!!!
See you all soon, :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

So sorry to hear of your dd breaking her arm Shirley. My own ds had broken his arm, twice, before the age of 8! Both times in the summer. The saving grace is that kids tend to heal quickly, so hopefully she will be able to swim.

I can tell that we are getting close to vacation time. My own kids have a way of getting sick or hurt just before a big trip or event. Just took dd, 16 to the doctor yesterday with an ear ache, and sure enough, she's got an ear infection!

Well I found a dress for formal night. With the gift card I had it cost me just $13! Such a deal! Now all I have to do is clean the house, pay bills, do laundry, make arrangements for the dogs, mail, and newspaper, go to the bank, get dd and I in for pedicures ect and oh yeah, pack! But at least the shopping is done. :rotfl2: Sometimes it seems that getting ready to go on vacation is more work than going to work!

well I am on my way all I have to do is get my nails done, pack and magic here I COME. well I am sorry about your dd arm Shirley. Kids seem to just go with the flo. Me when I broke my arm in JAN i could not do anything for a month. 4 days and counting.

Has anyone considered taking a tour with Mazatlan Frank for our stop in Mazatlan? I was wondering if he has some space (or one of his partners does). I only have a small family of 3 so would need to get more people together if we want to take a tour.

He emailed me yeaterday and stated he still had space for my 4 on an all day tour he was doing but we decided not to go so I waould guess that space is still open!
Have fun,
Shilrey

My two boys and I are booked with him. He told me today that a few others are also booked. Is that you? I had posted awhile back that we were looking for others to join us but it was looking like we were going to have to pay a higher rate and be all alone. I'm so glad you decided to go as well!

Yep, that was me. Couldn't decide what else to do at the Mazatlan stop so I thought about giving Frank a try. Trying to get my sister-in-law and her family to come along too and fill up the van.

Are your boys keen on going to the beach? My 11 year old daughter wasn't sure. Maybe Frank can drop us off at one of the hotels instead.

Looking forward to meeting you on the trip.

Did anyone else hear about the fire at San Pedro? :earseek: On the bridge besides the dock where the Magic docks. I was there two weeks ago and I stopped breathing for 10 seconds! It was the same view, the Magic, then the bridge in the back ground! I heard "San Pedro" - "dock" "bridge" "a fire" and I was like 'whaaaaaa the h?" Not now! ;) :faint:  :crazy2:

Gotta love this weather though! I've been looking at the weather at each port and am soooo happy to see it hot! Looks like some wonderful weather for all of us!

I actually am packing! Yippee! :Pinkbounc

Wish I was packed. In a little over two days we are heading south :cool1:
I look forward to meeting everyone on board!

Got the suitcases out at least. Of course they've BEEN out since our last cruise, :rotfl2: so that's not saying much. Actually it's not as bad as all that, just got a couple loads of laundry to do today and with any luck I'll be packing, at least partially, later today. Of course I am a cronic procrastinator so I know at least some of it won't get done till the last minute.

Hadn't heard of a fire in San Pedro. :earseek: Hope there wasn't much damage.

From what I have heard about the beaches in Mazatlan, I'm sure my boys will be fine with a hotel. Either thing is probably fine with us.

we are going to el cid in mazatlan from what I see from pictures and what everyone has said on line it looks like a great hotel.

Well, we are back from the doctor and my DD is in a new cast - a waterproof cast for the trip. Only problem is that he did not leave the under layer long enough and it is rubbing a blister on her hand already. I guess we will be going again today to have it fixed.
Shirley

Hey guys,

Just 2 more days!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Things are shaping uparound here. Still got some errands to run and of course (drumroll please) PACKING, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We've been having some wonderful weather and I just hope that it holds out for another week. I'm so over June gloom.

Glad that your dd got a waterproof cast, Shirley. That will make things so much easier.

Wishing everyone who's traveling today a safe trip. See you soon.

Cheryl

Frank said he could drop us off at the hotel if we wanted. From what I understand from his posts, the beach, El Cid, and Toni's are all close to each other.

I think we'll let the kids decide what they want to do. I know sometimes they're in a sand castle mood, sometimes in a "I don't like the salty water" mood. Anything will feel good to me if the weather is hot.

Daughter is getting really excited now. Was up early this morning. We make the drive to LA today. Will bring my laptop so will be back on here later tonight or tomorrow.

Got my green Mickeys,
Cliff

Everyone that will traveling today and tomorrow have a good trip. It is a little cooler today.

Grandkids are back from their dads and will be with me till we leave we leave dd got a new job about a month ago and has till work till we leave.

Am going to start packing today so I won't have to do much tomorrow.

Well, I just got home from picking up the boys' tuxedos. OMG they look handsome!!! (If I do say so myself!) Anyway, my plan is to finish packing tonight, get their haircut tomorrow and then I am ready to head out tomoroow afternoon. I booked this cruise last May 6 - I can't believe it is finally here! See you all soon.....:jumping1:
