June 2024 WISH Thread- Jumping into SUMMER ☀️🍉🕶️

@newski_mom I am so sorry this happened to you!!! I hope you are feeling better!!!!

I am so sorry I have been MIA but VBS is kicking my butt!!!! @Summer2018 I have no idea how teach kiddos day after day!!! You are amazing!!

We have about 90 kids ages 4-8 come through our craft room in a 2 hour period and they are broken into 4 groups, by grade. The kids are great honestly and I am absolutely delighted to see some of my awana kids again. But I think it’s the set up/clean up every night in addition to all the talking and repeating myself with instructions that is taking it out of me. 2 more nights!!!!

Also I talk to my friends too much so I know I am also part of the problem 🤣 but we don’t have Bible study in the summer so we wall want to catch up lol!!

I am modivated this week to close out the month by closing all my watch rings each day. If I make it to Sunday I will have done all my rings everyday this month!!

I also do everything in moderation! Sometime my moderation is not the best but for instance I bought these 60 calorie mini mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches at Aldi about 3 weeks ago-15 in the pack. Since I bought them I have not went out for ice cream or gotten Crumbl one time and that was becoming a 1 time a week trip for both places…not good at all! I tell myself-you can have 1 sandwich then if you still want sweet frog/crumbl you can walk down the street (this is dangerous to have both in walking distance) and get it! I have not went once after eating the little 60 calorie sandwhich! So yes I have ice cream but not a 500 calorie cup worth!!!
90 children broken down into 4 groups is still a lot of kids. That’s the size of a public school class, and a very large group for Art. I teach Art in small groups during Center Time which is how I am able to control them. It’s difficult to get them to focus and truly listen to instructions in a large group, so yes, I agree that the repetition of instructions really is frustrating and exhausting.

I must be a crazy person, but my church just posted a part time position for a Children’s Ministry Director, and I felt compelled to update my resume and apply for it. There’s a lot of competition, and I may not get the job. But there’s a chance that I could be running VBS as well as Sunday School, and every other aspect of Christian education next year.

OMG. What did I sign up for?!!!!!!

Am I nuts?!!!!!!

I'm thankful for another classically PNW damp grey fall day, bringing on thoughts of cozying up in front of the fire with a bowl of hot soup... oh wait, it's JUNE!

I am thankful that yesterday I learned I have a pedicure appointment this afternoon, because I thought my next one wasn't until late July.

I am thankful that I found a place in a neighboring town to get my ears re-pierced. The guy here has ghosted me twice, so I am finally getting them done elsewhere Saturday.

And I am thankful that earlier in the week I was able to shift how I was thinking and let something go that I was forcing and clinging on to. The shift was profound as things immediately started to expand and bloom.

I LOVE this 😍 keep us posted!!!!

Whooooohooooo I was forced to take a hour of leave with my lunch break yesterday because I had a migraine (I know this doesn’t start off like a positive thing but stick with me) and I took my meds and laid down. That 1.5 hour nap did wonders both for my migraine and my exhaustion! I felt completely normal yesterday for the first time since last Saturday (before VBS started)!

Whoooohoooo last night was a great night with the kids!!!

Thankful that today is the last night of VBS but also thankful to have had this experience. I will do it next year, maybe in a different role but maybe not. I may try out a leader role for one of my nephew/niece groups so I can spend the week with them…we will see what next summer brings!

I am thankful that it’s summer.
I am thankful for the weather…I just love the sunshine and the heat. I am thankful for the time to get my head together…time to get organized…time to see friends…time to think…time to come up with crazy ideas like applying for a second job when I am already so overwhelmed during the school year…time to ponder my faith knowing that if God is pushing me towards something then there must be a reason…

Saturday morning, I have Nia then it's off to the neighboring town to get my ears re-pierced. The place is in the old downtown area, so I'll also take time to walk around... and look for some new earrings. Sunday maybe a movie... I still haven't seen Inside Out 2.

I signed up for the gym at my new office and took a Zumba class on Wednesday, hoping for at least one class a week depending on my workload.
Tomorrow DH and I are supposed to be going to a fundraiser at the zoo. May get some pool time in Sunday if the weather is nice.

Tomorrow is the first day of July!!! That was fast! I will get us started after church. For now let’s line up our volunteer hosts.
