**June 2024 Check-in**

What is the bug situation at DL? Will we need bug spray when we are in the parks at night? We're coming from the Midwest where the mosquitos are already out!

I don't think I've ever used bug spray at Disneyland before. Maybe others will chime in as well.

Anaheim 75 than Charlotte 75 😅
75! Is that the high??? I'd better bring my coat!
The temp is 89 here at 7:00 pm with a heat index of 100. It has already reached mid 90s this month. I hope we have nice weather when we arrive in 20 days. Can't wait!!

I know! It's actually been cooler than normal here this year. 70s and 80's (not quite as warm as where you are) but it also gets really humid here too. We're normally at 80's and some 90's at this point. 75 is right on the line if I wear shorts or leggings/jeans. I don't want to overpack. I need to leave room for all of my souvenirs! :cool1: Maybe it can be a good excuse to buy a spirit jersey. :rotfl2:

Haha right now my week's high ranges from 75-82 and lows in the low 60s/high 50s. I hope it stays that way (or maybe drops a few degrees!)

I got my first bout of plantar fasciitis about a month ago. Still bothers me and the only thing that helps as rest so I’m doing that as much as possible 😬

I have three weeks for it to get better 🤞🏻
Hope it gets better for you! I did something to my foot last year right before I went to Disneyland, and it felt like a bad sprained ankle. It got bad enough that I rented a scooter for 2 days. After I got home, I found out I have a heel spur! I did a day at Cedar Point 2 weeks ago and my foot held up fine then, so that was a huge relief. I wanted a dry run before Disney!!!

I do have a foot ice pack I will be bringing with me. You can actually wear it, like a sock. Got that last year off Amazon when I was trying to find some heel cups that worked.

No need for bug spray. Make sure you bring sunscreen.

Oh, I feel you. Mine are much better now. I almost exclusively wear Bzees, which have arch support and memory foam footbed. I recently got a pair of Clifton Hokas, and they help. Oofos recovery slides and sandals also help me. If I don’t wear hoka sneakers, I wear Vionics.

We are less than 3 weeks to our trip and just switched to the Grand with the new summer sale! Saving a lot of money if we stayed at the Westin but with my foot and two teens it’s just much more convenient!
We are balcony people for morning coffee and evening drinks. So. I had booked a park view at the Westin in order to get a balcony. The Grand Californian woods view price with the discount was more money than the Westin price, but not a crazy amount. By the time I add some late night Uber fees had we stayed at the Westin, the gap gets even smaller. Disney math you know. . . I had to justify it some how.:rotfl2: We would have loved the Westin, though.

Thanks for the tip! I had heel spurs at one point and used a bag of frozen peas for releif. But no freezer in a hotel room.

I guess I'm the weird one because I get hot if it's over around 67 degrees. 🤣
You are not weird - or maybe we both are a little weird. 🤔 I keep my AC at 71 degrees or I get grumpy. I should probably move to a cooler place. But then again, I would freeze if it was much below 40 degrees. I will say though, we were in Breckenridge, CO in June one year. The low was something like 35ish. It did not feel that cold at all. That thin air made a difference I guess.

We were Disney mathing HARD but it all worked out 🤣

I leave Saturday. My plan is to try to put it in the ice bucket and maybe stick that in the fridge and see how that works. It doesn't completely freeze at home anyway so we'll see!

Erin C-H — June 25-29 at DLH. Solo if anyone also is and wants to meet for a beverage!

Do you want me to include check-out day so 17th-20th? Or just your nights of 17th-19th?

Off to see the Wizard (Dr. Strange, that is) on June 19-23. Gonna do WOC since I haven’t seen it in about a decade. Fantasmic, of course, and gonna check out SWGE fireworks.
