June 2017 Disneyland Check In!!!

We have early lunch at Cafe Orleans on same date! I have posted some pictures of myself and my family on various forums, say hi if you recognize us. Travelling with my 10 year old son and my husband.

we also moved to best western park place... I am not following you around, I promise!

Hahaha! Stalker! Just kidding. Cool, I'll look around. If you check out our pre-trip report, you'll see some pictures of us as well. It'll just be my wife and I with my daughter and her boyfriend.

I'm hoping to hear about this at the end of May after some people have gone. DH wasn't cool on the idea (hates heights!), so I chose to skip it this trip. Hoping they keep it going until I'm there in January!

I'm in the same boat...we made reservations for June 7th but I'm still on the fence. I want to see where it is and find out what others experience before I'm completely sold on it. I'll keep watching for more information.

Just checking in now, but we will be there June 27- June 29 at the parks. We're bringing extended family with us (well, they are flying into LA and meeting us) to the parks for their first trip, so that's exciting! I have been very busy making careful plans to help them see and do everything they want. We're staying at a VRBO house a little ways from the park, but still walking or ART, which will be different from us as we always stay at a hotel on Harbor that is close walking distance.

I received a call last night that my June 19 reservation for the Carthay Circle Frozen Package was cancelled due to the fact that Frozen would not be showing that day. When I checked, you cannot make a Frozen package reservation for any date between June 12 and June 25. Has anyone heard if Frozen will not be performed during these dates? My girls won't care about missing the package, but if Frozen will be out of commission for our entire trip, they will be heartbroken.

Just popping in to say hello. We are at 53 days (6/26-7/2)... got our dining reservations made this week. We have resrvations at Carnation Cafe on 6/27 and Naples in DTD on 6/29. Not sure if we will do any other sit downs at this point. My parents will be joining us for 3 days for their 1st trip to DL (We are all WDW vets); they are taking a 2+ week train trip from Ohio out to the west coast and then eventually back for their 50th wedding anniversary. We still have to make our transportation reservations, but aside from that, we are just counting down until we leave. :)

Did you call the reservation line? If not, I'd be curious to hear what they said about it. I don't see dates past the 15th on the Disneyland website, but if you hover over the show info on the map I don't see a refurbishment announcement either.

No, I haven't called yet as I am on EST. The caller who said she was from Carthay Circle left me a voice mail message saying that since Frozen would not be showing on June 19, my Frozen dining package has been changed to a regular lunch reservation. I hopped on the website to try to change the package to another date, but there are no dates showing between June 12 and June 25. You can make a package reservation for June 27. I am really keeping my fingers crossed that Frozen will be showing at some point during our June 15-June 20 stay!!

Guess what....we are all going to Disneyland NEXT MONTH! Woohoo!

Does anyone here plan to post photos on Instagram or Twitter while in the parks?

I realized yesterday that it's MAY and that means NEXT MONTH we are going!

I an post on Twitter... should we come up with a hashtag and we can all follow each other's pictures on Twitter? That would be so fun!

Here's my plan for the week:

Jun 4 - Arrive, hang out in DTD, swim etc. Try to catch the fireworks from our hotel

Jun 5 - Mainly a DCA day - lunch res at Ariel's Grotto for DD's birthday. Plan on watching WOC

Jun 6 & 7 - Non Disney days - LA, Beach, Shopping

Jun 8 - Magic Morning rope drop, res at Anna & Elsa's boutique @ noon, watch Soundsational

Jun 9 - DD's actual Bday - May watch Frozen show (if it's a thing during that time, from what I'm reading it may not be?), surprise BB res for lunch. :)

I am starting to get nervous about Fast Pass Max. We don't want to use it. But I am still hoping it is released well before our trip so I can figure out if it will have an impact on us at all. But as time keeps ticking on and they haven't introduced it...I'm worried it will start right when we arrive.

Yeah, that's been my concern all along. I can't say for sure if I'd pay to use it, but no matter what I'd really like to see some time between when it's implemented and when we arrive. That or it not happen until after we leave, which means July for us.

When we went last year, the new PhotoPass+ was just introduced and it ended up screwing us a bit. Most CMs weren't 100% sure about it, and we ended up buying ride & dining photos that would have been included. :( I hope the same thing doesn't happen with Max Pass. It's $40/day for my family, so $120 for our trip. Considering PhotoPass+ One Week is $78... $40 for electronic Fast Passes is not worth it to us. We'll stick to paper.

The interesting thing for us is we have one of the old Photopass+ packages that we purchased back on November 30, 2015. We were originally supposed to be going in June of 2016, but had to push out to this year. I've already confirmed they'll honor that purchase, so the PhotoPass part of MaxiPass isn't a draw for us. I'm still crossing my fingers that they give some sort of multi-day discount for MaxiPass. If they do, I may still try it out. If it's a straight up $10 per day, per person for 5 days, I'm not so sure. Again, *if* it's implemented by the time we're there.

A multi day discount would definitely make it a contender!

We will be arriving June 25 and staying 6 nights at DLH. Monday and Tuesday at DLR and then Wednesday at Knotts and back to DLR for the next 2.5 days. After reading about it on these forums I booked a cabana at the pool for Thursday afternoon, price wasn't bad considering how crazy expensive the hotel is this year.
Then going to stay in LA at Venice Beach for 8 nights. Planning on doing one day at Universal during the LA week, hopefully the VIP package there. We have brought our kids to Disneyland many times but this is the first time we are going to spend time in LA with them.

We are checking in at the hotel Monday and I don't think we can park the car before 1 pm. We need to park the car for the morning at the day guests for the park. What do I need to know about parking at DLR, apart from the 20 usd fee?

Parking at the DLR lots allows for all day in and out privileges, so hang on to your parking stub. If you decide to drive back to the parks after you drop off your luggage at the hotel, you will be able to park for free if you show your same day stub. M&F has the tram, which drops off in DTD just west of the esplanade. You will go through security before boarding the trams. TS has buses, which drop off on the east side of the esplanade. You will go through security after you exit the bus, before entering the esplanade.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure you're staying at the same hotel we are. We plan to arrive relatively early on Sunday, so I researched our options. I saw different posts regarding parking at BWPII, so I called the hotel. They explained that they could not guarantee early parking, but that it might be worth stopping by when we arrive to see if parking is available. If our room happens to be ready or they have extra space, they indicated we might be able to park, there's just no guarantee. With that in mind, our plan is to stop by the hotel when we arrive. If we can park, great, we get more time wandering DTD and the DLR resorts. If we can't park right then, we're going to head down to a Dim Sum restaurant at a mall that's not far from where we're staying. We'll grab lunch there and head back when we can park around 1pm.

We just finalized our plans and made all our reservations for our end-of-June trip to SoCal! :yay:
We will be going to Disneyland on the 26th and 27th, staying at the Quality Inn. We decided to do just 2 days, with park hopper. I know we won't get to do everything, and that's fine. I'm just very excited that we are going at all! :mickeyjum

I booked my parade and meal at Blue Bayou and it looks like the parks close at midnight this year. Last year was 11pm and losing that extra hour really made a difference. Now I can maybe plan an afternoon nap on my second day to stay to park close.

Six weeks out from our big trip. We bought the 13 month passes and since hearing that Hyperspace is closing we've been toying with the idea of going as part of our memorial day camping trip. Decided today we're going to go that Sunday just for the one day. Our only plans right now are use FP to ride hyperspace early in day, buy kids their ears, and enjoy our time together. It's a little different as we've previously started our AP years with a 5 day + trip. But in the end we're going this June and next, so it doesn't matter if we get our extra time this May or next July.

I can finally see park hours for the first day of our trip 6/18 open until midnight. YAY! I like to print out the hours once they all show up. I really wish we knew if Max pass was going to be an issue or not. I'm hoping not, I'd like one last trip with things the way they are.
