June 2017 Disneyland Check In!!!

Getting excited! This week I made and payed for ART passes, DK Livery shuttle to Hojo and back to LAX, purchased the WOC dessert package, and bought two more Park Hoppers! Also made a table service reservation in CA one a day for lunches. We walk sometimes to the park but sometimes take the shuttle because DH has health problems and my youngest has severe Autism. Can't wait!

How old is your youngest? My son has autism as well. He's 3.5 years old.

Anyone by any chance know if there are any good ticket deals out there? Last time we went, I went through Orbitz or Expedia and got cash back. But I can't remember which. I went to ebates and can't seem to find it that exists again or not.

We got ours from LMTClub.com and saved over $100 (I also bought them before the last price increase so that helps). You can get a promo to join LMTClub for free, which I did a couple years ago and my membership is still valid, which I've never paid a penny for. Here are their prices for DL tickets right now (Adult is the first price, followed by child):

2 Days Ticket (1 Park per Day) $180.06 $169.20
2 Day Park Hopper Ticket $218.21 $207.48
3 Days Ticket (1 Park per Day) $244.30 $233.44
3 Day Park Hopper Ticket $281.70 $270.97
4 Days Ticket (1 Park per Day) $254.76 $241.60
4 Day Park Hopper Ticket $290.78 $277.75
5 Days Ticket (1 Park per Day) $259.92 $247.14
5 Day Park Hopper Ticket $294.59 $281.97

The kids & I made t-shirts for them yesterday. But I can't post pics of them because they're too large to upload here. ODD just finished her final draft of an essay due later this week about Walt Disney. Then next week, she has to do a short presentation on the same subject (they had to pick a notable person in history who's been dead for at least 50 years). She's had a lot of fun with this assignment. It's going to make going to Disneyland in just about a month all the more special!

For the presentation, she either has to dress up like Walt or have at least 1 prop or visual aid. I don't think we'll be able to come up with her dressing up like Walt Disney, but she's definitely going to bring some of the Disneyland attractions posters that we have from a calendar we bought a couple of years ago. Plus she's thinking of bringing her stuffed Mickey & Minnie and maybe Bambi, too.

*** edited to add ***
I just had a thought....I should download some of the older "Connecting with Walt" podcasts...the ones that talk about Disneyland history...because we could listen to them on our long travel day from AZ to CA.

We made our final dining reservation today, for the River Belle Terrace. Our general plan looks like this at this point:

Sunday (6/25): Vegas to DLR. Hope we can park at BWPPI when we arrive between 10am & 11am. Spend the rest of the day checking out the DLR resorts and Downtown Disney. Lunch at Trader Sam's, dinner at Tangaroa Terrace. If for some reason we can't park until later, we've got a plan B that involves heading to a mall about 20 minutes away for Dim Sum, then back to park. If that happens we'll have to choose between Trader Sam's and Tangoroa Terrace for dinner.

Monday (6/26): First day in the parks, starting at DL. We don't have an aggressive ride plan for this day, but we do have 4-6 rides we want to try to ride our first day. We're planning this day as more of a get the feel for the parks day. We have a lunch reservation at Blue Bayou and then will take a break sometime after. We'll plan to be in DL for the fireworks, assuming they're shown.

Tuesday (6/27): We'll use our DL MM and start our first touring plan-ish day with the idea of getting as many rides as we can in the morning, then we have a lunch reservation at Cafe Orleans. We'll take an afternoon break, then play the evening by ear until our WOC dessert party reservation.

Wednesday (6/28): We may rope drop DL then head over to CA this day or just rope drop CA, even though this should be an EMH day there. Our plan is to mostly do CA this day, with a plan to hit the Cove bar at opening for lunch. We'll most likely try to see the fireworks in DL on Wednesday, either for the first time if weather cancels Monday or for the 2nd time if the weather cooperates.

Thursday (6/29): We'll definitely rope drop CA this day and spend the majority of the morning in CA. Depending on how Sunday goes, we're thinking Trader Sam's or Tangaroa Terrace for lunch this day (if we miss out on either on Sunday). If we hit both on Sunday then we'll play this lunch by ear. If we've caught fireworks Monday and/or Tuesday and if we really love WOC, we may fastpass WOC this night.

Friday (6/30): We'll probably rope drop DL this morning, then spend the day either doubling up things we really liked or trying to do things we've missed up to this point. We've got our lunch reservation at River Belle Terrace. In a perfect world, we'll finish out the week seeing the DL fireworks that night.

Saturday (7/1): DLR back to Vegas. Pick up the pups from the vet where they're being boarded and spend most of the rest of the week visiting in Vegas.

We're 55 days out at this point. Between work and everyday life it'll be here before we know it! Woohoo!

I was looking into making reservations at Rainforest Cafe - the one in Orlando no longer has the pot roast on the menu, so I was hoping to enjoy it on this trip. I noticed through Disney's site, they only have breakfast and lunch.... are they really not open for dinner, or just not taking reservations for dinner?

Did anyone make reservations for the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience? We did for the night of the 7th - I've read some about it but wondering what other people have read.

Here's our itinerary for 6/11-6/15. We have 3 day, 1 park per day, tickets.

6/11 Drive from Az. Get there in the late afternoon. Check in (Homewood) and head to downtown Disney. Happy hour at Catal. Beignets at Jazz Kitchen Express. Shopping at World of Disney.

6/12 Rope drop DL- Hit as many of the big rides in the morning as we can. Lunch at Jolly Holiday or Rancho. Back to room for afternoon rest. Head back to park at 6:00

6/13- Rope drop DCA. Hit as many big rides as we can in the morning. Cove Bar for lunch. Back to room for rest. Return at 6:00

6/14- Rope drop DL- Hit our favorite rides or ones we missed on 6/11. Lunch at Cafe Orleans. Back to room for rest. Return at 6:00

6/15- Check out and head to San Diego for seafood lunch and beach time. Check into Embassy Suites downtown. Walk to Seaport Village for shopping, dinner and drinks.

6/16- Check out and head home.

I'm hoping to hear about this at the end of May after some people have gone. DH wasn't cool on the idea (hates heights!), so I chose to skip it this trip. Hoping they keep it going until I'm there in January!

They are open for dinner, but you have to contact the restaurant directly for dinner reservations.

We're 50 days away. I got a fancy new car for my birthday last year, and that's what we'll be driving from Salem, OR, to Anaheim. About 1200 miles each way, when you add in the side adventures each leg of the trip. Good thing that car is comfortable! We deleted the whole music hard drive in it the other day, and filled it all with Disney music. Lord knows we will all get tired of it after 20 hours or so in the car, but it sounds fun now! I may also look into some podcasts or such to play on the way as well.

DD13 and I were at Walmart, and they were clearancing some of their Disney shirts, so DD and I will get to be twinsies one day with Minnie and Mickey shirts. (She's thrilled! Yay! And it didn't take any convincing or bribery! Double yay!)

Still working on reservations. Blue Bayou for sure, probably Wednesday night.

QUESTIONS:

*When doing the BB MSEP Dining, do you have to pay ahead of time like a tour, or just at the time of the meal like any other dining reservation?

*Can we do take out from Cafe Orleans? (I want the pomme frites, no one else cares to eat there.)

*How do I make the time until the trip go faster? (Haha! Just had a new grandson last week, older 2 grandsons have their bday party this weekend, my birthday is Mother's Day weekend, we have the grandkids on Memorial Day weekend or the one after, and I think I have--so far--4 more doctor's appointments before the trip. 50 days seems so far away, but being this busy makes me think the time is going to FLY!)

1) You pay at the time of the meal if you book the MSEP package at BB. (You only prepay for the WoC Dessert Party as far as I'm aware)

2) The sit down restaurants don't do take away. You could make a reservation and order them then ask for them to go but you can't get take-out. They're not the same but the Beauty and the Beast menu that is currently at Pinnochio's has Pomme Fritte on the menu as well.

3) I wish I knew!

We're there the last week, too. So far we've got a Monday lunch reservation at Blue Bayou, a Tuesday lunch reservation at Cafe Orleans and we decided to bite the bullet on the World of Color dessert party on Tuesday night. We're waiting now to make a River Belle Terrace lunch reservation for Friday and that will be it for us, as far as reservations go. I'm with you, it feels more real to have confirmation numbers in hand.

We have early lunch at Cafe Orleans on same date! I have posted some pictures of myself and my family on various forums, say hi if you recognize us. Travelling with my 10 year old son and my husband.

we also moved to best western park place... I am not following you around, I promise!
