We are also still awaiting our cabin number. I believe we should probably have a cabin assigned at the end of the month.
Thanks! I will keep checking.

Hi will you be sending out the final list?
Welcome!!Hello! We booked this cruise a few months ago, but about a month and a half later things came up that caused us to reconsider whether or not we would be able to take such a long vacation. Well, I'm glad to say we have decided to go forward with our trip and we will be joining you all! This thread has been very helpful in our planning, so thank you to everyone who's contributed.
We are a family of four, Lily, Gary, Drew (turns 16 the day we set sail!) and Luke (13) coming from California.
Unfortunately, as our planning was put on hold for so long, there are still a couple of things I need to reserve. Is anyone else taking a private vehicle to Dover from London (besides Coastal Cars, they're all booked up)? We have so much luggage I'm worried about taking the train.
We've never been on a "cold" weather cruise and one so long. Any advice on clothes and shoes? Thanks so much!
Welcome!!
Have you tried Blackberry Cars? We are using them from the airport to London. I'm pretty sure they can go to Dover
It will be a challenge to pack for this! In the first post of this thread there is a link to another thread about packing for an Alaskan cruise - you might be able to get some ideas from there.
We bought waterproof hiking shoes to keep our feet dry. We'll try to layer sweatshirts/fleeces/rain jackets. Definitely bring gloves!
Yes, I highly doubt the shoes we bought will ever get worn again, however, everything I have read says we won't regret it.Thank you. I will look into Blackberry Cars. We also need a ride from Heathrow to our lodging in London so I'll see if they can help us for both.
Thanks for the thoughts on clothes. I wondered about the hiking boots and hadn't even thought about gloves. Coming from sunny California, we don't have much need for waterproof shoes or gloves so it's something I don't really want to buy, but may need to invest in for a comfortable trip! I just wish my kids feet would stop growing!
I looked at the 10 forecasts yesterday and it does seem to be warmer in London and Norway than I was expecting. Now I'm rethinking my packing plan a little.I have been checking 10 day forecasts for the cities we will be visitting, and the past couple of weeks have been pretty mild. Most in the 60's. We are bringing pants, mostly long sleeved shirts, and just a couple of short sleeved shirts (just in case), as well as warm coats and a lightweight jacket. Layers will be the key. Some may need to take their port adventures into consideration as far as gloves or boots. Any excursions on boats will have an extra chill due to wind. The ships seem to be the same temp whether it is Alaska or Caribbean.
Happy packing!
Been through Houston twice, once after a cruise and once to take a trip to San Antonio, loved it there! My cousin from NE England married a Texan girl and now lives near DFW, in Hurst I think. See you in less than three weeks!!!I am originally from Houston but now live in the Dallas, Fort Worth area.
Have you checked with Disney about the granddaughter coming on board? Sometimes they will do it at the embarkation port (Dover) but I'm not sure if they will do it at the other ports or not. It would be worth a call to them.

Just in case our cabin has not been assigned before anyone leaves, the cabin will be under the last name Dowson. Also, my husband goes by Mark but his first name is Jonathan, in case they say we are not there! We have been working on our gifts this weeken and are getting excited

Thanks so much. We ended up booking last week with a service called Totally Driven. They have good reviews on Tripadvisor and the price was reasonable so (fingers crossed) hopefully all goes well! We leave in two weeks. Feel like I have a million things still left to do. Excited and panicked at the same time!!We are using Unicorn transfer... they are picking us up at our hotel.
