June 16, 2007 MedHead Cruisers

Hey Eveyone - Hope you are having a good day.

I can't believe the hotels in Barcelona are booking up so early. I just called Hilton to check in that one, and even though I can't book it on the internet the gentleman said his computer was showing rates, but there were no rooms available. I guess I need to keep looking around.

And what do you know --

I got a T.O.P!!!!! pirate:

I guess we'll just plan to arrive on the 16th and deal with the jet lag. Finding room for a party of 6 isn't easy even when it's stateside, not to mention overseas.... certainly isn't worth all the hastle and stress now.

Good Morning Everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.
I also called Hilton yesterday. The person I spoke with told me to basically call back in June because you cannot book this far in advance. She was not very helpful. DCL must not have blocked very many rooms for them to sell out so quickly. Oh well. Time to get the kids up for school.

Have a great day!

If you go to the Hilton.co.uk site and check on Spain they do have available and you are able to book for the night of the 15th June but for some strange reason no availability on the 14th if anyone wants to go a day earlier.

Have sent a fax to Grand Marina today as do not seem to be getting any reply from emails to them. They must be selling rooms as Disney have reserved some. Will post if I get any luck.

Sorry - just as an afterthought - anyone on this board managed to get a hotel room through Disney if not where have they all gone I wonder.

Hi all
We're sitting here in Hawaii scrolling through the messages for the past few days and came across the thread for changing the thread title to Med heads...

Elizabeth (my DD) will update it soon.

In the meantime, lots of talk about hotels in Europe. Doesn't sound like DCL is prepared to be in the hotel room business.

Maybe my travel agent will have different insight.

Aloha

All updated... we are now the MedHead Cruisers!

Let me know if you want any other changes :)

Hey dad, Bruce is too SHINY :goodvibes

I may have to take care of that for you.

Why does the Hilton UK website let you book through 2008 but not the US website. My DH told me just to book through the UK webiste but I am a little nervous to do that.

Ray and Elizabeth - thanks so much for changing the title while you are on vacation. Hawaii looks great.

Carol - I was a little concerned about booking on the UK web site also so I called Hilton direct at 1-800-Hiltons. You might get the standard you can only book a year out, but I just explained to the girl on the phone that apparently hotels in Europe you can book further out. The 14th was booked solid but the 15th was open. I was able to book the 15th on the phone.

Hi everyone! I got an email back from the Grand Marina. (I wrote to see what they would have available.) The woman with whom I exchanged emails was very sweet and helpful but said they would not begin offering rooms for that time period until SEPTEMBER!!! So, go figure. She asked if I wanted to be contacted at that time, and I told her yes. I think we will probably try to go with Casa Camper, though.

LeiLani-I called the Hilton Honors number earlier this evening and was told that even though they show dates through April 2008 you can only book one year in advance. So the room and rate you book may or may not be available when the time comes to travel. I hope that makes sense. I will try the 1-800-hiltons # tomorrow. Maybe it just depends on who you get on the phone. Are you booking more than 1 room? My kids will be 6 and 8. It seems silly that the rooms will only accomadate 2 adults and 1 child. I was told that the Hilton Barcelona (which is not the nicer one) has a Jr. suite that will hold 4 people. Of course I want to stay at the nice one on the beach.
Have a great night. :cool1:

Good morning everyone from ~England.

Wonder why everyone seems rather afraid of booking through the UK website we have booked things on the US site many times and as long as you get the print off receipt and keep that what really can go wrong. I dont know why the British site is showing availability that far ahead you really would think it would be all the same but I did check also and it is quite right in what you say.

Julie any chance you would p.m. or let me have the email contact for the Grand Marina - inspite of many emails and even a fax have received nothing.
Many thanks and happy hotel hunting.

Understand that some who have booked cruises have been allocated hotels without even asking for them. This is very strange.

Prices also have been quoted on another board they are:-
Hilton $295
AC Barcelona $270
Grand Marina $310
Hesperia Presidente $235
Atenea Mar $230.

It also states that if you have not booked with dVC for flights then ground transportation will increase by $9. Anyone else heard this one.

We booked the cruise through DU. I was wondering if anyone has used them before and how long does it take after you pay your deposit and give them all of your information to get your reservation # with DCL and your assigned stateroom. Can I write a run on sentence or what! LOL! Thanks.

Have a great day!!!!!

I got my first T.O.P. pirate:

Carol, I also booked through DU and the Disney confirmation number is listed on your cruise info page at the DU site (look at your confirmation email from DU and it will tell you how to get there, if you haven't done this already). I can already view our reservations at the DCL website. My cabin numbers are also listed on my DU reservation page.

Karen - Thanks! I went to DCL and was able to retrive my reservation. No stateroom as of yet though.

We transferred our booking from Disney to DU and was so pleased to see the Disney booking reference there also as you say you can then look it up on the Disney site. We could not do this when we booked last time through a travel agent in England and never received half of the information others did.

So far am very pleased.

to be a nuisance just going to try and get my countdown to work.
