We got word the other day that we were upgraded from our Cat. 4 to a Cat. 3, so for all you who are waitlisted, there's hope!

I seriously doubt that anyone will give up their Cat. 2 for us... but I won't stop hoping.

Have just been playing around with computer sites and found this one which gives some good ideas on some of the places on the cruise. Hope it is of help as they do give personal tours also so could be of help when comparing with what Disney come up with.

Good morning(afternoon) everyone! After 4 days of clouds and rain, we are finally going to see sunshine today. Yeah!! It started raining on Friday and it didn't stop until sometime yesterday. I thought I was going to have to build a boat to get around.

Brenda - we need to get your weather warmed up and sunny so it is nice when I come over to the UK. Knowing my luck though, it will be cold and rainy the whole time we are there. Oh well, just like WDW, I will go with the flow and not complain because I am in a beautiful place.

well, they are promising us record high temperatures by Thursday this week but never can believe them. What with draught and water restrictions in this part of the country still ongoing we could do with a bit of that rain. It is only down here in the South of England we have this problem - such a small country and such different problems. Up north they have had plenty of rain, here we have been on hosepipe ban for nearly 2 years and now they are saying you cannot even fill up childrens paddling pools.

Well there is not much we can do about it really plenty of places worse off than us I feel.

BUMPING

Hi All!

We are back from Atlanta and it was fun! One of the Google Boys (Sergey?) was one of the main speakers, and they are going to do something fun with google earth and robots! Something about a relay race on the map of the US with the robots.

The Secretary of Commerce was there also.

In other news. . .

I am asking each time I talk to DCL about our hotel situation, and the cm is always shocked that there are no rooms available. I hope more are released!

We are getting way down on the list. Been doing some more DisneyWorld vacation planning. Got our plane tickets for December tonight -- flying down because we are only staying 4 days. We will be driving for our June visit since we are staying weekend to weekend. Will be staying at the Boardwalk and waitlisted for the Beach Club. Tomorrow is the 30 day mark so DVC members will need to cancel tomorrow or forfeit points. On Monday, I can call and make 11 month reservations for OKW for April 2007 spring break.

Then I can move on to booking flights for the cruise. Need to wait 331 days if you are using Delta Sky miles. You can have different arrival and departure cities --- Hooray -- we can fly into Barcelona for the cruise and leave from Paris after the cruise.

Good day everyone. Just trying to give us a bump up as we had fallen to page 2 again. I have been spending a lot of time planning all the trips I have going on this summer. Hopefully once those are done, I can spend a little more time on this cruise.

I leave for Scotland in less than 2 weeks so I will try to keep posting, but I know things are going to get busy. A trip to Scotland and the end of school year are porbably not a good choice as things are going to get crazy around here but I guess that's life.

I hope the weather is kind to everyone. Here in England we have had two days of really nice warm sunny weather. However, up north they have had torrential rain and thunderstorms and they are promising us here rain over the weekend. Well, we do need it but only at night.

Looks like summer is over again for this part of England unfortunately.

Regarding a poll - just wonder if we could incorporate something to find out when others are planning on arriving in Barcelona and perhaps what their other plans are.

Just a thought but expect others will have much better ideas.

Just thought I would let fellow MedHeads know that I have just telephoned Grand Marina hotel and they say the only people we can book with at present are Disney. They will not have prices nor availability for independant bookings until October 2006.

As I do not have a toll free number for Disney can anyone make enquiries again of Disney and find out exactly what is going on here with regard to hotel bookings. It does seem totally out of order if you can only book through them and they Grand Marina have confirmed they are not taking names and there will be no wait list for bookings. Think it will be first come first served unless we can get Disney to do something about this situation.

Hey Brenda - I can check again with DCL again but the last time I talked to them(and I was talking to Roy who is a supervisor or in charge of the hotel situation) said that they were working with all the hotels to see if they could get more rooms. He said that about the only thing we can do at the moment is put our name on a waitlist with DCL and see what happens. I will keep checking the website for GM and also expedia or orbitz just to see if something comes open.

Brenda - I just got off the phone with DCL and they basically said the same thing. Hotels still sold out but we are also still on a waitlist. So my suggestion would be to get on the waitlist if you haven't done so and see what happens. I will try to remember to call them every so often just to check. I have some other issues with DCL at the moment so am thinking about sending a email off to them and if I do, I will include a complaint about how the hotels and transportation were handled. I will let you know if I hear anything back.

LeiLani, Thank you for making contact with DCL they are certainly not being very forthcoming about the hotels and I wonder how many people have actually got a booking.

WE originally booked with Disney on line and then changed the booking to DU because of the much better price. DU have been unable to find out anything either. Was wondering if we have not had any success as our booking is now not with Disney. However, saying that this option was never on the web site only flights and they do not offer us those obviously.

Hey Y'all!

I wondered what everyone had planned for the rest of the year? I have three trips to WDW planned--One for DS's graduation in a few weeks, One for work in October (cannot wait--getting to see MNSSHP and the Haunted Hayride for the first time--and Hoop de Doo then too!) Then we are using our points and going back for Thanksgiving (ok we are cheap--had points we needed to use and wanted to use our AP's ONE MORE TIME before they expired )

What is everyone else got on tap for this year?

I wondered what everyone had planned for the rest of the year?

Well, now that we are on the left coast, no plans for WDW for quite a while. Airline tickets are just too pricey. We have to buy 6 tickets later this summer just to get back to the midwest and visit our families (haven't been in a couple of years). I'm not sure what we'll do. I'd like to see about using points to see this part of the country, maybe the San Diego area.... the kids want to see Sea World, Legoland, the zoo, or north of there a bit, Universal Hollywood... I need to see what accommodations are available that will hold 6.

We did use points at the Grand Californian earlier this year for our first ever trip to Disneyland. 4 nights in a 2BR suite cost more than a week in any 2BR villa in a DVC resort.... it was slightly more than our 350 annual points. At this point, for our family, using points at DL isn't a great choice. (Beats cash, of course.)

So... I'm guessing no Disney Magic (pun not intended) for us until the cruise next summer.

Good Morning everyone silver 7 - my niece and nephew will be so jealous - Hoopty Doo Review is their favorite!

Will be going to Hawaii with Adventures by Disney in June with a quick stop at DL on the way. Does anyone know anyone who went on a ABD trip last year? gou08 - how did your girls do on the flight to Hawaii? My niece and nephew are 7 & 9. I guess this will be a training flight for the long flight next June.

If all is well we are planning on a Land/Sea during Thanksgiving.

I do have some points I need to use by Sept. Hmmmmmm
