June 15, 2012 - 2 Night Getaway on the Disney Magic from NYC!

Actually, for this cruise the question to ask, "Is anyone cruising with kids?" :confused3 So far only a few families with kids going on the cruise have posted on this cruise meet group.

I cannot believe I will not have to spend my days by the Mickey pool or Goofy pool. The wife and I can actually do something together. WOW:cool1:

Thanks Kristin!

This gonna be soooo much fun. Plus another Disney trip to plan, OMG... we have so much on our plate over the next year.....
I must admit I have a little guilt of not booking the kids, but I'm sure I will get over it.
Anyone else cruising without kids????

I know that Mary, Michele (who has not yet posted on this thead), Janeanne & Keith, and myself & Bruce all who cruised together in Aug. all are not bringing children.

I feel a bit guilty but it is only two nights. I think we will plan to spend the night before in the city!!

No my two kids are coming along! My son will be 7 and it will be a week after my daughter turns 9

That's good to know. My little girl will be 8 in February. I guess we'll have lots of fun on the Mickey slide and the family pools. :thumbsup2

You know whats gonna happen eh! All you folk bringing kids are gonna have a great time as a family bonding and palying, making the rest of us adults that left our kids at home staring out the window looking for mom and dad feel extremely home sick and guilty........ BUT for a 2 night cruise I (and the rest of you kidless parents) will just have to get over it and suck it up and have lots of FUN:thumbsup2FUN:thumbsup2FUN:thumbsup2
And remember when you return home to tell your kids it just wasn't the same without them:lmao:

Soo very true. I think the guilt will only last a few minutes!!:rotfl2::lmao:

The guilt will last to the end of the first bahamarita!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

and if we stay in NYC the night before, it maybe gone before we board the ship!!:cool1::cool1:

:rotfl2::lmao:Guess, we will just have to pack extra bahamarita's then!!:cool1:

OK OK everyone......Do you think its possible for us to have as much fun without our kids on the Disney Magic:confused3

No worries about not having kids with you. I'm 25 years old and travel with my mom on all Disney Cruises. While I am technically a "kid" to her, we have a blast on the ship without the younger kids. :thumbsup2:

I'm 23 and cruise with my dad(mom doesn't like vacations and will never go on a cruise so she stays home) and I have had a blast each time:goodvibes

A part of me is sad that there won't be so many kids, but the other side means that the Goofy and Mickey pool won't be packed. :thumbsup2 My wife and I are the odd ones out, we prefer kid fun to adult fun. This will be our 10th Disney cruise and there are many adult activities we have never done.

Although I have had a beer at Diversions we have never gone to any of the night clubs, no beer, wine, tequila tastings, and no real interest in fine dining. We have been to Palo Brunch on the Magic and Dream, both are nice because they are casual, but the Dream's Palo dining room is more formal and has less of a selection of food so I prefer the Magic. Never been to Serenity Bay or the adult pool area on the ship (only walk by).

Speaking for myself and not my wife, my fun is derived from my daughter. If she is having fun then I am happy. As a matter of fact, the fun I have as a Dad is exponentially better than when I wasn't a Dad so leaving my daughter for any reason is not something I would consider, especially a Disney Cruise.

But that's just me...

We just booked!!! We will be doing the June 10th cruise to Canada and then this one B2B. It's me, DH and DS (who will be 11). Cannot wait!!!! The B2Bs will be our six and seventh cruises on DCL.

Just getting back to this "meet" - big bunch, and lots of "sans kids"! Same here, but kids are grown, so no guilt whatsoever for us:laughing:

realfam, I see you were on the E/B TransAtlantic last year, were you part of the FE or any of the Dis "meets" onboard? Your board name is not ringing a bell for me:confused3, but I blame myself:rotfl: Anyway, apologies for that. That cruise was absolutely super - and we've done two other cruises as well as numerous other trips and vacations with our tablemates from then! Still trying to talk them into doing this one as well, but we're collectively waiting to see what the MAGIC and WONDER are doing in 2013.

Please take us off all cruise lists, we've cancelled this cruise, Alex

ok - I really need to read all the boards before I comment -you will be missed on all three cruises..

How is everyone? I've been neglecting DIS. I moved into a new house at the beginning of Oct & have been busy getting settled. I'm slowly getting things together & easing back into my routine. Plus, hockey season has started and that keeps me busy yelling at the tv :goodvibes

Just shy of 8 months til we're cruising. :)
