June 15, 2012 - 2 Night Getaway on the Disney Magic from NYC!

Hey Beth(Tinkbelltwins)/Kristin(Kritter),

We are officially booked too! Although, I expect more family to be added later, but for the moment it is Missy (DW), Sarah (DD 8), and myself (DH) in a cat 7. We were kicking around different staterooms, thought maybe just a 9A, but decided on a verandah. Our 9 DCL cruises had us twice in a Royal, twice in a one bedroom suite, once in a cat 4, four times in a cat 6. A cat 7 Navigator verandah has always been a curiosity for us so I grabbed what appeared to be the last one. I was happy to see that early dining was still available. Can't wait to see you guys again.

Jeff

:cool1::yay::cool1::yay:Yay!!!

I got my Mom the sweatshirt with Minnie Mouse depicted as the Statue of Liberty. I bought it at the Disney store outlet in Paramus, NJ.
...hmm- now I have to get to Paramus Park I guess....didn't realize so many folks lived in the area!!!

I didn't realize the Paramus location sold the NYC stuff. My boyfriend lives about 5 minutes from Paramus. I'll have to check it out! :)
MORE northern NJ folks!!!! WOO HOO!!

We are doing our fish extender exchange in 2.5 weeks. If it goes well, we may be in for this cruise as well. The list for the cruise is over 40 cabins, 125 people.......that a lot of work and gifts....and money too.
I agree...when I did the Dream Maiden - I needed 225 gifts (ouch!) the biggest headache was getting them to Florida!!! Luckily I have friends who live there, and I shipped everything ahead. I agree about the cost. That is why I am keeping a running list of how many cabins folks are looking for in a group...once we get over the lowest number I will post that point, then the highest number we will make a joint decision. Folks who choose to give to more than one group will be listed on all the groups they join (if we divide!)

On one cruise i went on we had around 50 staterooms and it was expensive and really hard to do (but my kids loved all of the gifts!). On my last cruise we decided to break into two groups of around 25 cabins and that was much more manageable. The person who was in charge of the entire FE on that cruise was the best person for the job, though it caused her some heart-ache as some people were quite exacting and demanding as to their expectations. I'm not sure about participating in such a short cruise that will be only with my husband (not the kids) so will wait awhile to decide.
I understand...some of us are B2B which does make it easier!

That all being said - if we have to divide I guess fore/aft would be the best way....or by decks?

I have given out a variety of things - I always try for something Disney! But have gotten everything from home made port, to stickers! I received a couple of laundry bags (homemade and very cute!) that I use every cruise now!!! Door magnets are always a cute idea (one can buy mag sheets from any craft store and print them up), Christmas Tree Shoppe usually has small items that work well also. One person gave pens on string that said Australia - I love that pen....use it at work a lot (she was from Australia)...another location for ideas is Oriental Trading Company - large lots of things...

hope some of this helps

Hello All. I finally got a chance to look up this thread for a trip. My Husband and I will also be joining this time. We are leaving the kids behind for an adults time out. I will try and catch up on all the postings but for now

Hey Guys from the 8/16/11 Dream cruise!!

Janeanne

Kinda funny. Many of this group are not bringing their children, but we are. Oh well, I love swimming with Sarah, just ashame I can't go down the Mickey slide. :goodvibes At least the August cruise she'll have some friends to play with.

Though we aren't expecting our twins to join us, the way my life has gone these last few years with aging parents and medical issues, I did go ahead and put Skye and Hope on our reservation when I booked it. Just in case. It is far easier to drop them before the deadline than try to add them in later and find out that we can't because of the lifeboat issue or the number of kids maxing out the kids club. I'm really hoping we don't have to bring them, but who knows. I have stopped trying to predict what goes on with family and their desire/ability to watch my two kiddos.

I probally should have done that too. But I am hoping that my parents can still be healthy enough to still watch them!!

Yes, our seven-year-old princess:princess:princess: do have a great time together on Disney ships! :) Their moms and dads enjoy spending time together too!

And where did you find that pixie dust smilie in your message? Do tell....

I'm hoping that your mom and dad are in good health by then too! They are wonderful people and I so enjoyed meeting them in August! :)

What is most likely to happen is that we would be canceling this 2 nighter cruise by the time the final payment is due if a close relative can't watch the girls. Though the twins love mickey and minnie, they wouldn't want to miss their end of school party, plus we've got other family cruises lined up for next year -- like the Turkey Cruise! I'm definitely NOT telling them that they are on this reservation right now! I know better than to do that!! It would be a constant "Mommy can we go..." echo in my ear.:confused3

so today I went onto look at my reservation online (not sure why) and realized I'm on this trip! For some reason I had 7/15 stuck in my head. I think I looked at July and June was better pricing :)

Anyways, it's hubby and I without our 3 kids, they are staying home w/Gran!
