June 15, 2012 - 2 Night Getaway on the Disney Magic from NYC!

I just sent you a PM! :) Everything sounds great. Thanks for organizing it!

got it! I am just hoping that everyone does it the way I asked (You did!) it makes it very easy to keep the three lists seperated :rotfl:

Looking forward to seeing everyone in a year!!!

I don't know how to do it but on some threads someone starts a weekly countdown....

Just one question about the FE, are we going to have a cut off date? Should the 60 day mark be the cutoff date?

Well, June 15 is the one year mark, so that's 52 weeks. I'll post every week if I remember. Or does someone have a ticker or counter in the other threads?

Hello everyone....I am booked with my cruisin' buddy Michael on this cruise as the second of a B2B. I am so excited that DCL has FINALLY come to NYC. From very reliable sources...

2. The ship will be berthed in Manhattan...they looked at Brooklyn shipyards, but for these trips opted for Manhattan. They are looking at Brooklyn for future sailings because it is easier to get in and out of JFK and LGA from there. Personally I was very happy to hear they didn't look at Bayonne or Elizabeth (eeewww).

Cayla

When did cruise ships depart from Elizabeth?

How does everyone feel about a 60 day cutoff? Too early? A couple of other questions come to mind, maybe I should post the as a survey?

Not sure they ever have....I just cringe thinking about that port...Knew folks who worked there years ago and the stories were horrible...but it is a deep water port. Jersey City used to have a cruise ship terminal, many many years ago...and I think Hoboken might have also...I was very happy to hear Manhattan!

Ok...so one can only do a poll as a new thread, since I think we should keep this 'in the family' as it were...here are my questions!

1. How many days before embarkation should the FE list be closed?
a. 30days
b. 60days
c. 90days

2. Should the FE be broken into small groups?
If you answered yes to #2 then how many cabins/people should each group contain?

3. If you answered NO to #2, what would your thoughts be on two larger groups, if the number of people gets to be very large? (this comes from the Dream Maiden and the Hawaii cruise in 2012 - both FE lists were/are well over 100 cabins)

I think 60 days is a good cutoff mark. It gives people enough time to get everything together. I think 30 days is cutting it too close. Maybe 45 days would be a happy medium if others think 60 is too long.

As for breaking it into groups, I think we should wait and see how many people are interested in the FE. The last cruise I went on only had about 15 people in it so we didn't break it up. If it gets to be a large number, we can all decide then.

1. b. 60 days
2. Yes - 10 - 15 cabins per group. For example, at the 60 day mark if you have 25 cabins, then split it into the Mickey group (13 cabins) and the Minnie group (12 cabins).

Good morning everyone...I have updated the FE list on google docs. Here is the link if anyone needs it:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...x5a0lCb3doeHc&authkey=CL_tgpkM&hl=en_US#gid=0

I am keeping a tally of answers to my earlier post so far here are the results:

60 days = 2 votes
small groups = 2 votes

I personally don't mind either, and since the list is available to everyone, we can all see if it gets large. I will update the online document about twice a month, unless we get a large number of people contacting me, then I will update it earlier.

Since this is such a short cruise, I would not be suprised if we have only a few people...but it will be fun!!

Please check the spreadsheet to make sure I didn't make an entry error!!
PM me if I have not added you to the spreadsheet as of now...I need the following infomation:

Dis Name
RW Name
Cabin #
Who is sailing with you (ages and gender of kids please)
any allergies or special needs

I was asking for email addresses, but I don't think we are going to need them, since I am using an online spreadsheet. Feel free to include it if you like - I will NOT publish or spam in anyway

Thanks for taking care of everything Cayla! It's great that you're posting it as a google doc so we can all see it. :)

I have to honestly say my cruisin buddy Michael set this one up...however flying to MCO for a 3 day cruise is going to be painful!! sigh. I have NO vacation time left....

Cayla

I missed the weekly countdown so I will make up for it by saying....

356 days to go!

If we have the requisite number of people (12 -14?) we could reserve the private room for Palo Brunch. Well, we have a little less than a year to think about it!

:cool1:

Ellen

Do they have brunch on 2 night sailings? I was under the impression they only offered that on 7 night cruises. :confused3

Palo Brunch is offered on the sea day on the four night cruise I'm taking in November on the Dream. On the Wonder Cruise to Nowhere (1/11) the Palo Brunch was offered. I can't see why they wouldn't offer it again, though by the time we sail the price may have increased to $25/$30 per person. :confused3

Ah, ok. Well, if we get enough people, I'd be interested. I've never been to Palo. I guess we'll see as the cruise gets closer.

352 days :)
