I wanted to touch base and see if we wanted to organize a few meets?

1. In the parking lot...Since I will be there first it will be easy for me to orgainze! :lmao: No seriously though, who is planning on being there say before 10am when we think the terminal will be opening???

We could help pass the time together. Let's hope the weather is better then it has been in SoCal! DD's will probably SCREAM really loud when we pull up so be prepared. We think that our DD - 6 already knows but it trying to play it off so we shall see! :)

2. Lunch - We did topsiders last time but it seemed like most people want to do Parrot Cay this time. I am up for either. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will also be eating dinner there that first night if I get the rotation I want!!! We plan on heading there right away. The lines got sooooo long last time at topsiders. We were in the first boarding group (a fluke that we got #1 as we were not anywhere close to being the 1st ones in the terminal). We went straight to lunch and it was great. By the time we were done the line was wrapped outside the restaurant and the ship was only half full for that cruise!

3. DIS Meet before the Sail Away Party - A lot of DIS groups have some sort of meeting before the sail away party. It is a good way to get to know everyone's faces etc that you have been spending coutless hours talking to on the internet! :rotfl2:

I am up for anything...let me know if anyone is interested!

Since we are now less then 3 weeks away I want to send out a last call for the gift exchange.

For the new people on the boards we are planning a gift exchange. If you have been on a Disney Cruise before you may have seen "organizer" type items hanging outside people's staterooms. We use those to do a gift exchange. The gifts range from all different things, you can either do person or per stateroom. It is totally up to you. It is so fun though coming back everyday and finding a gift outside your room.

Please let me know ASAP if you want to participate. We want to make sure that we give everyone enough time to buy/make everything that they will need. Either post here or send me a PM letting me know that you want to participate.

Thanks!!!

Half our group is planning to get there by 10/10:30 am and the other half will get there whenever they get around to it haha. So we're good for lunch. I'd love to know about the Sail Away Part meet and greet but I'll leave it up to the other people in our group to decide what they want to do for that. They may be too excited about being on the ship and want to run around looking at everyting :) (or get lunch if they are really late...good possibility) :rotfl2:

As soon as we get on the ship Darlene and I will be heading to Rockin Bar D and sending the DH's to Parrot Cay. We can organize something in the parking lot to make sure we all sit next to each other for lunch .

Since the ship takes off an hour earlier I think it tight to get in the meet before sailaway. I say we meeting up on deck 10 after sailway since we will have extra time before dinner.

Can't wait...less than 3 weeks:cool1:

I"M Baaaack!!! Woke up at 5a this morning to tackle the drive home from Palo Alto and did it in under 6 hours, door to door! Wanted to miss the holiday traffic and we did!
Great surprise to check my mail and my DOCS are Here!!!! :yay:  :yay:  :yay: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

We're AP Disney members and taking DS this Friday for a pre cruise treat. We've lived in SoCal for the last 12 years or so but originally from Hawaii. Looking forward to meeting everyone!!!

Hi Everyone,
Am I too late to join the party? I'm sorry to be jumping in here so late, but it has been a crazy-busy spring for me. Now I am ready to just obsess my little heart out about the cruise! Our cruise docs showed up today, so happy dance at our house! :cool1:  :cool1:

Just to introduce myself, I'm Cari and I live in Cincinnati. (Well, in Fairfield, a northwestern suburb, to be exact.) I will be traveling with DH, DD 12, DS 8, and DD 5. We will be cruising with our good friends who have kids similar ages. This will be our 3rd cruise, and our first 7 day and first veranda. And we are absolutely spazzed! We also went on the Big Red Boat for our honeymoon, so it's our 4th cruise overall. We're also thrilled to be heading to Disneyland for three days pre-cruise.

One interesting thing about our travel plans is that we are among those who were dumped by Skybus. We had the $10 tickets before they went under. All's well, though...we were able to book on another airline for a reasonable fare. Not $10, mind you, but reasonable.

I would live on DCL if I could, and I feel like I can't wait another minute.

I've read the last several pages of your thread, and you all seem like a very nice bunch. I hope it's OK to jump in at this late date. I look forward to chatting with all of you. :)

Cheers,
Cari

Welcome~~~

My first post was so boring!!! I need to learn all the cute tricks here!

My DH & I honeymooned on the Big Red Boat, also -- in December, 1987 -- after our wedding at the Disneyland Hotel. :lovestruc

This is our first "official" cruise. We are Disneyland Annual Passholders, and have a 14-year-old son. We are VERY EXCITED to be on this cruise!

Oh yeah -- GO DODGERS!!!

Thanks for the welcome, and I look forward to chatting!

:wizard:

Another big WELCOME!!!

Hello All...Newbie here getting ready for our first Disney Cruise. Long time DL fans with AP's for years now. We cant wait for the 15th!

Any tips for a first time DCL cruiser with a 2 year old?

** Still trying to catch up ont this thread...its a long one!

And WELCOME Again! Where in the South Bay do you live? We're about the same distance away~ in Manhattan Beach.

We're planning to leave EARLY. DH can't make it on this cruise so it will be moi, DS, DM, DN, DS, DBiL & DN. DH is dropping us off so we'll be there early as well. We're thinking 10ish time wise as well if not a tad earlier!

Lunch could be great ~ let me know and I'll check with the rest of the group.

A pre sail away meet may be a little hard with the earlier departure but let us know what everyone else wants to do and we'll try our darndest!

So....glad to read up on what I've missed. Have to unload the car, laundry etc....but 20 more days!!!
TTYL!

WORLD CRUISE CENTER
425 S.Palos Verdes St., Bearth 93
San Pedro, CA 90731

I used this address in my GPS and it said to turn right after exiting on Harbor Blvd.

Skip the right turn and go straight off the exit. It will lead to berth 93. Just following the LARGE sign with a 93 on it.

We are going to watch the Magic come in to port tomorrow. We live in Monrovia (Pasadena area, for non-locals), so we are going to leave here around 6:00 a.m. We'll check out the terminal, and I'll post any info I get.:surfweb: We are hoping to see the whole fire boat spouting water escort.:yay:
We are soooooooooo excited!!:wizard:

Did you make it in time to see the ship come in? My family woke up too late so we missed it. I did take a few pics of the Magic docked though.

**Click on the link below for a pic of the Magic docked at 9am.

Okay - I'm intrigued....there's not too many people who would know what the above is so.....
...wea yu from? My family is from Haleiwa. I'm assuming you're in ES?

Glad to know there may be someone else who will start craving a musubi after 7 days!

Ah...Matsumoto's, Miura Store (Think they can make a disney aloha shirt?), Giovanni's Shrimp Truck and malasada's? Oh yes, spam musubi!

Never heard of Hale'iwa, although I almost got hit in the head sitting near a coconut tree eating Matsumoto's.

Yes, we are in ES.

THANKS!

Since a lot of people are going to be at Berth 93 at least by 10am, does anyone know what time we can enter the terminal and and what time they start boarding?

On the cruise docs we just received it states, "Onboard, 4:00pm."

I think I just answered one of y questions..On the cruise info page it says, "Embarkation time: 1:00pm."

This probably doesn't include everything but this is what I'm working off of. Let me know if you think of something I've missed.

Travel Documents, Wallet Items, and Paperwork
ð Airline tickets – 3 copies (1 in carry on, 1 in checked luggage, and 1 with someone at home)
ð Cruise documents – 3 copies (1 in carry on, 1 in checked luggage, and 1 with someone at home)
ð Passports – 2 photocopies (1 in carry on, 1 in checked luggage, and 1 with someone at home)
ð Driver's license and auto insurance card
ð Medical insurance cards
ð Credit Cards
ð ATM card
ð Cash
ð Itinerary – 3 copies (1 in carry on, 1 in checked luggage, and 1 with someone at home)
ð Currency conversion chart
ð Wallet
ð Watch
ð Hotel Confirmations– 3 copies (1 in carry on, 1 in checked luggage, and 1 with someone at home)
ð Rental Car Information– 3 copies (1 in carry on, 1 in checked luggage, and 1 with someone at home)

ð Ear plugs or "ear planes"
ð Small first aid kit (band aids, Q-tips, Vaseline, Dramamine, antibiotic cream, bandages, anti-diarrhea medication, cortisone cream, Tylenol/Advil, Allergy Medicine, Sea Sickness Medicine, Sleeping Medicine)

Sorry for the late response (still catching up)...I scan all my tickets, passport and drivers license and e-mail it to myself. This way if my copies are UTL, I can always have access to it where ever I go.

I see so many ppl saying they are getting there early but what time do you board? I thought it was around 1PM so if I am there for 11Am how will I be for boarding? What is the protocol?

Is there a DIS party? Where are they usually held?
