Where are you guys staying Sat night before the cruise? We're thinking the Hilton at Universal. It's not that close but we enjoy that hotel.

I see so many ppl saying they are getting there early but what time do you board? I thought it was around 1PM so if I am there for 11Am how will I be for boarding? What is the protocol?

Is there a DIS party? Where are they usually held?

The sooner you get to the terminal the better boarding number you receive. Disney usually starts boarding around 11:45-12:00 but it is up to the Captain. When you check in you get a boarding card with a number on it...starting with 1 till like 12. The later you get there the higer number you get. 1's go to suites and a few other lucky people. My goal will be to get a 2. So if I get a 1 I will be very happy. They also pick one family to be the 1st family. It is kind of like a year of a million dreams thing. They chose a family to be the 1st ones to board and they make a bug deal of it. I have no idea how they pick this family but it would be cool to start your vacation off that way! Maybe one of us will get it! ''

So the sooner you get one board the better chance of reserving Palo or anything else you need. Also it is the best time to go eat lunch and swim in the pools. Not sure if we are going to do the pool thing or not. Weather in SoCal is not always the greatest in June (June Gloom) so I do not want my girls to get sick on day 1!

I also want to get into my room as soon as they drop the ropes. I have a TON of door decroating to do and banners to hang in our stateroom. I want to make it so special for my girls!!!

I had to go back out to the terminal a few times after boarding the ship last year. After the initial rush (10-1) it is empty out there. You just check in and then board. The only problem with that is that the ship is pretty full at that point. So the lunch lines are long and the pool is pretty full. I want to make the most of this vacation...so I am ready to start it off with a party in the parking lot!!!

We love the Universal Hilton. One time when we stayed there the pool was not working so we got to use the Sheraton's. While we were at the pool we got to meet the finalists from America's Got Talent. My DD LOVED it!

It is about 30 miles from the port but atleast you can take the 110 the whole way. It should be empty too on a Sunday.

Hi Everyone.... I know this is but I just wanted to share some good news..

DD booked 2 jobs for today! We are soooo excited. One is for Disney Pool Toys or something and another is for a PSA. It has been a few months since she has worked so she is super excited. The strike really slowed things down and since then she has been losing faith. It is finally nice that her hard work is once again paying off!

The funny thing is that when I was buying my new computer she was asking me to buy her this $2,000 pink laptop. I told her when you book a job you can buy it yourself! Well a few days later she books 2 jobs...now guess what she is asking for!?!?!? Too bad these 2 jobs will not pay enough to buy the computer and what would a 6 year old do with a $2,000 laptop anyway!!! Now I have to figure out a way out of this one!!! Silly me was thinking that by the time she booked a job she would have forgotten about the laptop.

That leaves open 2 spots. AirTita I was just going through all of the old posts and I noticed that you asked for 4 spots. Sorry I did not respond sooner. I must have missed it when I did not have my computer. It was so hard reading everything on my phone. I am just not sure how I missed it. Sorry.

AirTita - Let me know if you want the 2 spots or not. I will hold them for you until I here from you.

Thats good to know they will start boarding before 1pm. My other half wasn't too keen on waiting in the terminal for 3 or 4 hours.

That also reminds me...the little guy and I will be off to somewhere to get decorations for the door, etc. Maybe DL or the outlet in Fulerton. If we get a late star we will have to goto the Disney Store.

We arrived at the port on Sunday at 6:30, but our beautiful ship was already in port! We had just missed her docking. However, we were able to get the "waving hands" from the Disney folks. We donned our golden ears and took some pictures. We hung out there for about an hour and then tried to sneak into the terminal. It didn't work, though. They would not let us in without the parking pass. We went home, attended a previously scheduled luncheon, and then headed back to San Pedro! How crazy can we be?? We got a table on the water at the Ports O' Call Restaurant, and waved her by. Personally, I said good-bye with a couple glasses of wine!.

What a beautiful site! Of course, my DS wants to return this weekend and do it again, but he needs to study for finals.

I have digital pictures on my camera, and I'll try to post some here.

For what it's worth, the people leaving the ship looked packed in like sardines on the walkway into the building. We plan to be the last people off the ship (or the first stow-aways for the next cruise)

Since we are now less then 3 weeks away I want to send out a last call for the gift exchange.

For the new people on the boards we are planning a gift exchange. If you have been on a Disney Cruise before you may have seen "organizer" type items hanging outside people's staterooms. We use those to do a gift exchange. The gifts range from all different things, you can either do person or per stateroom. It is totally up to you. It is so fun though coming back everyday and finding a gift outside your room.

Please let me know ASAP if you want to participate. We want to make sure that we give everyone enough time to buy/make everything that they will need. Either post here or send me a PM letting me know that you want to participate.

Sorry I have not posted since March. I would like to be included in the gift exchange and any meet and greets you have organized. I see I missed out on the Palo brunch but can you let me know what other things you have planned.
On our last cruise we got together right after the life boat drill and exchanged little gifts from our part of the country(magnets, postcards, etc). It was pretty nice since there were a lot of International cruisers. Do you have a list of cabins yet that will have fish extenders?
