Okay, there has been some interest in getting together a fish extender for this cruise. I am happy to head this up, just let me know what you think. I figure that we should start by starting to compile a list of everyone so far and add to it as the thread hopefully grows. I did not start this thread, so I am not able to post all of this in the first post.

I thought that this would be a good starting point. Please feel free to put what you want and to add anything to it!! I will keep it compiled and post an updated list every so often. I thought that this info might inspire some of us to meet up to do stuff. As we get closer to cruise time we can set up a time and place to meet once on board to say HI! I am thinking of setting a deadline a for fish extender participation. Maybe after the 75 day mark?

If you have questions about Fish Extenders please post away and we will try to answer them. We can make our own set of guidelines for the cruise.

I think today (the 22nd) was the original cut off day. I'm sure we'll hear for sure soon. I agree.....time is getting short !!!! Yea !!!!

Hi All. Yesterday it hit me we leave for this cruise in a little over thirty days. Yikes. I still have not even made my packing list. For my Panama Cruise I made it over a year in advance because I knew how many things I would need to prepare in advance but for this one I thought well....since I did Panama I should be allright. I was wrong. It dawned on me that we have to buy a new point and shoot camera. We dropped ours and we are unsure we want to rely on it for a vacation since it is making funny noises. I cannot believe how quick it is coming up. YEAH!!!! I guess I better get busy

Okay!!! It is April 22nd and the Fish Extender is now officially closed! I will update the list and repost the link tomorrow. So excited!!

Oh, and do we want to have a meet and greet when we board? Time and place? Any other get togethers?

We can't believe it is coming up so soon. It almost does not seem real that we will be sailing away so soon!! Things have been so busy here at home that I haven't had time to let it sink in that we will go on another magical cruise. So busy that I can't participate in the FE. Therefore, a group meet would be fabulous! Just let me know where and when!

Yay! We are getting very excited. A meet would be great. Do we purchase enough gifts for everyone for one day or do we give gifts every day? If not everyday how do we know which day is ours? And any ideas for teens?

Here are some guidelines that I think could be useful with the FE exchange.

1. Each cabin is to provide AT LEAST one gift to each cabin participating in the fish extender. You can provide a gift to each person within that cabin, just the kids, or one gift for the whole cabin...that is up to you. Of course, you are welcome to give more than one gift...but the minimum is one.
2. All gifts are to be delivered between the cruise leaving port on Friday, June 3rd until 4 PM on Monday, June 6th. This gives people time to still be able to pack their bags on June 6th before we leave the ship the morning of June 7th.
3. Please include a tag with your DISboard’s user name on the gift. This way everyone knows who the gift is from.
4. Sign-ups for the FE will close 6 weeks before sail date. This gives everyone a chance to finish things up before the cruise. This date will be April 22, 2011.

I quoted some of the basic rules from our FE from our coordinator. As for gifts for teens, I think there are some threads out there on the main cruise board that have some discussions going. Paraphrasing: most people said candy and gum for teens. There are some really creative folks. I think you will also find it is up to an individual family whether they will deliver each day or only 1 day. I have seen it range from 1 drop off of many things to small things each day. It really depends on each individual’s family and how their time is allocated throughout the cruise. But I think if you follow the basic rules set forth by our FE coordinator, you should be golden. HTH....

Please double check your kids info when you look this over to make sure that your info is correct. I have their name and then their age and gender in (). Please make sure that the age and gender were input correctly......I am only human!! Some people may use this info to put their goodies together and you really would not want your son to end up with pink princess stuff!!

Once again..if you are not participating in the fish extender still look at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Your info should be there!!!
