Greeitngs from Louisiana! My family will be on this cruise along with my sister's family! We've been to DW numerous times, but this is our first cruise ever, and we are EXCITED!!!! We want to be a part of the FE. Here's our info:

Hi Christine. I'm unsure so far. We are leaning towards renting a car, stopping at the Kennedy Space Center and then back to Orlando. However we are probably going to stay onsite at Universal, and they charge parking. I haven't worked out all the details if we use a transportation service but I haven't ruled it out. What are you guys planning ?

I love that we are getting some more chat going and more signed up for the fish extender. I will try to update the spreadsheet today sometime. I have had a nasty virus going thru my house....both kids and then me! It is a fever for several days and a cough. My son and I are still getting the fevers. So I have been out of it for the past week. It does seem to be easing up..the fever is not spiking as high! I did get a PM from one of you....I appreciate all the ideas and will definately write back! Just trying to get better.

Just did some checking. Disney wants $70.00 round trip per person to the port. We are thinking of taking the Disney shuttle to the port at $35.00 one way (don't want to miss the ship). Then rent a car at the port, just for the day,they have a Hertz nearby, go to Kennedy and then drive to Hard Rock in Orlando where we are staying and they have a Hertz counter there at the hotel. Then just take a shuttle to the airport. This seems like the least expensive option. So many things to decide !

I hear you. Thinking about Disney trans. to the port also. There are 5 of us (DW, DD15, DS11, and DD8(on June 1st ). It would be really convenient to use Disney, but with 5 I may rent a car for that leg also. We have similiar itineraries for sure. I didn't think about just renting the car to get to Kennedy and to Orlando, definitely an option to consider.

My family will also be on this cruise! Myself, my husband, and my three DD (15, 13, and 12 at the time of the cruise) will be there. We are experienced cruisers and cannot wait for the trip. Does anyone know if there be any special events or special celebrities on the June 3rd cruise?

Here are some guidelines that I think could be useful with the FE exchange.

1. Each cabin is to provide AT LEAST one gift to each cabin participating in the fish extender. You can provide a gift to each person within that cabin, just the kids, or one gift for the whole cabin...that is up to you. Of course, you are welcome to give more than one gift...but the minimum is one.
2. All gifts are to be delivered between the cruise leaving port on Friday, June 3rd until 4 PM on Monday, June 6th. This gives people time to still be able to pack their bags on June 6th before we leave the ship the morning of June 7th.
3. Please include a tag with your DISboard’s user name on the gift. This way everyone knows who the gift is from.
4. Sign-ups for the FE will close 6 weeks before sail date. This gives everyone a chance to finish things up before the cruise. This date will be April 22, 2011.


Please let me know if this sounds okay with everyone. I have listed some cabins as "Friends of" on the fish extender list. Please look this over and make sure that it is okay. If they are listed as a separate cabin, then they should plan on participating in the fish extender with a separate gift. If they are included in what you are doing, then they should not be getting separate gifts from everyone? I am just trying to make this fair.

It's mid May and we finally booked TODAY...but the categories we wanted are gone! So, we ended up with a veranda which will cost us more than we wanted to spend but I am looking forward to that splurge! The June 7th cruise is completely sold out and the June 12th is also close to being sold out.

This will be our third Dis cruise and yes, we are DRIVING, ALL the way from California to Florida. Wish me luck. I will be with my DH, my DD8 and my DS6. I will be celebrating my 36th bday on the ship.

I look forward to being on the new ship with all of you!! Perhaps we can plan a trip meet after embarkation. Can't wait!!!

Now to talk cruise!! This is our first cruise and we are sooo excited!! I booked in December 09 and have been obsessing over the planning the last few months. We are driving down from Maryland and will be visiting WDW (also a first) prior to the cruise. This will be an early birthday celebration for our DD who will be turning 7 June 24th. My parents will be joining us as well and will be staying in the cabin next to us. Excited to meet you all and to participate in the FE!
