this is the thread about the signs... and I think the template for the ears is somewhere in here.

We were thinking of just making one simple one. I have heard it helps a lot in finding your room and since I am already directionally challenged (the left right thing still eludes me after 25 years) I think I would benefit from it. But I think I will put my Screenname for the DIS on it too if other DIS people will be doing it.

Hi! Thanks for your reply...may have been me who posted about the 5 yr old. I'm tring to catch up on everything in this thread. WOW! Door signs and green mickey ears...I had no idea all that could be done to make the cruise more fun for our daughter. Did I read somewhere that the group is making t-shirts, too?

Can we be added to the member list? We leave for Portugal in just 18 days! Will spend 4 days there and 3 in Barcelona before the cruise. It's our first time cruising so I want to make it as special as possible for the family.

Would be great to meet on the frist day at sea. Is this the plan?

We are CRAZY for boating...husband grew up in Miami, Florida - I grew up in Lake Havasu, Arizona. My husband would spend every moment deep sea fishing if time allowed. First time cruising with Disney....our daughter can't handle her own excitement!

Hi - I think Funnybunny will read through the messages and add you - she is very organised . You could try to pm her but your account may not let you yet ! We too are into boating . We live in the UK by the sea and have a motor boat . We have cruised DCL several times before and I KNOW you will all enjoy it !! There will be plenty of younger children in the clubs so don't worry - she will have so much fun . There seems to be a plan forming to meet on the first sea day which will be nice . We only leave home on the day of the cruise , makes a change for us as we are usually doing the long journey !

Thanks, Rachel. I've heard Lauren won't want to leave the kids club because it's so great. It'll be fun to catch up on boating stories with you all...the fish get bigger every time, right!?! I'm still getting used to boating on ocean waters since I grew up on the Colorado River. But at least I know I won't get seasick on the cruise! Ever been to Portugal? Recommendations? We'll be in Sintra, just outside of Lisbon.

I couldn't resist and bought a tuxedo on ebay for my 2 and 4 year old...per suggestions on DISboards. Very inexpensive ($15.99 for new) and so cute. Since they're small I don't think they'll take up too much room in the suitcase. Now I just have to convince the husband to wear one Anyone else going formal for formal night?

I'm sure the kids will be just adorable in their tuxes! I'm planning on going formal...my 5 yr old is wearing her sleeping beauty princess dress. Thinking of renting a tux for my husband through Cruiseline Formalwear. Any recommendations?

On the door signs...we will have 6 looking very much the same, and then ears, and hats!!!

On the meeting time up in the bar, we can do that at 1.

I was preparing mine yesterday. . . I was also going to cut some mickeys and minnies with my wishblade and/or cricut.

Let me see how difficult it will be and I'll can make some for all of us!

soooo. are you guys using the the magnatic sheets, or are you printing them out on like picture paper and laminating them, and then using double sided taped magnet strips to put them on the doors?? I think i saw it both ways on that one thread discussing these things, with the later being MUCH cheaper!! I went to wal mart and could not find the magnetic paper...if you are using that, where did you find it???

Meeting you all on that thursday, at the bar, at 1!!! Can not wait!!!!

jUST THOUGHT I WOULD TELL THOSE OF YOU WITH LITTLE ONES THAT THE DOLLAR TREE HAS ADORABLE VINAL DISNEY PLACE MATS THAT WOULD BE SO EASY TO TAKE WITH YOU ON THE CRUISE AND USE AS A LITTLE GIFT FOR YOUR KIDS AT DINNER. THEY COULD ALSO BE SIGNED WITH SHARPIES.
THEY ALSO HAVE A GOOD ASSORTMENT OF DISNEY STICKERS THAT MIGHTBE FUN TO USE FOR THE DOOR SIGNS THE KIDS MAKE.

Yippee!!! I just finished up my door tags. I'm pretty excited about it. They are a little different from the others that I am reading about....but I am really happy about them. If someone steals them off of my door, I'm gonna be hot!! Of course, they are both personalized....so, I'm hoping that won't happen. I did manage to get my green mickey on, with a red white and blue "DIS" !!

Can't wait....for me...only 11 more work days!!

I'm in the process of making our door sign and have been reading other threads on this topic. I have a question: Are we identifying ourselves with a "group name" or putting green mickey ears on the sign to show that we're part of this thread? Or something else entirely?

I bought the magnetic paper at CompUSA, but is available at Office Max.
