Jumping in Feet First! VWL Resale Purchase

Hubby and I just signed a contract for 150 VWL points, August use year, and paid the earnest money. Doing this sight unseen -- made our first Disney trip last September and took the tour (stayed at the Contemporary, as hubby wasn't too keen on the trip but is a scifi freak-- only took 2 days to make him a convert to WDW addiction! [the Morocco pavilion did it -- beautiful!]), but I'm from upstate New York and SSR didn't appeal to me. (And the location didn't do it for us either -- we're not Epcot or Downtown Disney area types -- too many people and too much noise for us!). Doing this deal through Jaki at A Timeshare Broker, due to the raves about her on this board. Took a while to find a contract we could do, after someone else here snapped up the 180 and 181 point deals last month with October use years before our personal loan was approved!

Just wanted to thank everyone here for the great info -- I don't post much, but I read this board every day and have learned a great deal from you all. Now I look forward to enjoying (at least-- gotta get some mileage out of those APs we plan to buy!) annual trips to The World for the next 38 years!!!

Congratulations! VWL is our home resort, too, and we waited until we could buy there. Have been very happy we chose to wait and have loved every stay there (but have come to really enjoy OKW, too).

We also purchased VWL contract site unseen and from what I can gather from this board, it will only get harder and harder to get into VWL and BCV during peek seasons so I don't think we'll regret our purchases.
I hear it's beautiful there during Christmas.

Thanks for the welcomes, kda and tamu 91! Unfortunately, it'll be the very end of our contract before I'll ever get to see the VWL at holiday time, unless my hubby changes careers, as he works for Wal*Mart (no vacations allowed from about mid-October 'til mid-January!)! I can't wait for retirement!!!

Your faith in VWL was greater than ours and we waited 2 years for it to be built (but we stayed there when they were completed in Dec 2000 to be sure before we bought!)

Congratulations!

We snapped up the 181 point contract at VWL you mentioned (sight unseen!), passed ROFR and closed this week. We're hoping to be in Disney's system next week so we can book our first trip home!

Jaki helped us along the way and the whole process was easier than we imagined. From here on out you should have smooth sailing.
