Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Hi Lisa! Great update!! I have never been to Crystal Palace. I do plan on taking the kids there when we ever get back to visiting Disney! Unfortunately, we aren't able to go this year like we thought :sad1: I'm hoping maybe in 2 years. At least the kids will be older then! LOL!

I like CP too. I know a lot of people don't like buffets, but we do. We like the variety. And Skip loves to just totally pig out!!!

Great Crystal Palace pics! Lunchtime = the best time to look at food pics. :thumbsup2 That way, when I get hungry looking at them I can just leave for lunch!

We've eaten there once for lunch and it was good. Dinner looks like something to try as well! We don't really do buffets at home, but I think Disney offers a better buffet than they do here. We love going to Boma and we just tried out Cape May Cafe last year. (Haven't gotten that far on my trip report yet, though) :rolleyes1

I know you wanted to know when I spilled the beans about our next trip!

I started my PTR !!

I'm so glad that you posted the link. I can't wait to see how the second surprise goes!

Tell me about it. I always seem to read posts about food in the middle of the afternoon when I am craving some sort of snack.

Oh I'm glad that you mentioned Boma. That's on our list of ADRs for our upcoming trip.

Such cute pics of the Pooh gang! Piglet is my favorite! Yet another restaurant we have yet to try...maybe next time.

I like Piglet too and The Crystal Palace is the only place we have ever seen him.

I like CP too. I know a lot of people don't like buffets, but we do. We like the variety. And Skip loves to just totally pig out!!!

That sounds like John! I'm pretty picky about buffets but The Crystal Palace is always clean and the staff is good about replinishing the food items.

Well, with a little one, I can see why you would want to wait at while before going back. I'm betting that 2 years turns into 1. ;)

YAY! I'm caught up! :cool1:

- That dress is the SAME dress I wore in the wedding I was in last year right after our trip to Disney! Mine was red though! It's a super cute dress! :thumbsup2

- I don't like my food touching either! That's the hard thing about Buffets for me! :confused3

- CP looks good. I hadn't really ever thought about eating there, since I'm not a Pooh fan, but your pictures look good! :) At least those desserts like tasty!

The dresses they wore were cute and Lacey said it was even pretty comfortable for a dress.

I usually have a plate for my salad and a plate for my entrees because I don't want the salad dressing to get on my other food. I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only "don't want my food to touch" person out there. :rotfl:

Great updates!

I really enjoy the food at Crystal Palace for lunch. We've eaten breakfast there and it was okay, but the lunch food was great. And I love the desserts!!!!

The first time we ate lunch there, DD9 didn't realize that there were different desserts on each side, so she just went to one and sat down. I came back with stuff she hadn't seen and you would have thought her seat was on fire if you saw how fast she went back up.

We had it booked this trip for our arrival day late lunch, but we decided to cancel it since we are planning to head to DTD that evening. We'll just have a snack and then eat at the resort or DTD early.

Too funny about your daughter going to get the other desserts. That's what I love about buffets...there's all sorts of things to try.

Before I post the next "in order" installment, I wanted to post a few pictures that were missing from our Magic Kingdom day. As I said, I know we went back to the resort for a little relaxation but, I couldn't remember exactly what we did before going to the resort. This picks up from the time we were near the teacups. As everybody knows, Mickey's Toontown Fair was closed for a total redo and I was a little sad:

102_0681.jpg

and also a little mad:

Hunter and I are Haunted Mansion fans but John and Lacey aren't so he and I headed over while they did something....I'm not sure what. The walk over:

Look at that wait time! 15 minutes is a good wait time for mid-afternoon during the first week of June:

102_0689.jpg

Hunter and I were excited to check out the new queue so we went the long way around while many others took the short way. That was fine by us because we were able to take our time looking at the new additions:

We were also excited to see what the Imagineers had done with the hitch hiking ghosts at the end of the attractions. It was so funny to see them swirling all around us. One last picture before we went to find the rest of our gang.

From the Haunted Mansion, we switched back and went for another cruise on It's A Small World!

And, now that my memory has been refreshed by the pictures, that's about the time that Mama called and said she would be leaving the resort soon. We walked towards the castle and I popped in to see the giant peeking into the store:

102_0731.jpg

Next stop was to make a wish in Cinderella's Wishing Well:

I wanted to get a couple of pictures taken with the castle in the background but once I looked at the one of John and I, I realized I looked a hot mess! It was hot and I was a mess. :lmao:

And that's when we got stopped by the parade:

We wiggled our way down Main Street and John and Hunter decided to wait upstairs at the train station while Lacey and I went to wait on Mama. I gave the camera to Hunter and he took these:

Mamaw's here!

That's the point where we rode the train, went to back to Adventureland, bought a yummy to my tummy Dole Whip and I'll pick up from here in the next installment.

I only missed two posts!! :yay: I thought I would be way, way behind! The food pictures at Crystal Palace looks very good and puts my future plans in a quandry now! Really liked how the boiled shrimp looked...yummy!

I am so sad that they did not repurpose Mickey's Toontown houses and garage! The circus area is very cute but it is sad to walk to that area and not see Mickey and Minnie's houses!

Hunter did a good job getting those pictures of Main Street. You are training him well! :thumbsup2

Girl, you know I move this trip report along as slow as a snail. :lmao: Sorry to mess up your future plans but the Crystal Palace is someplace that you need to look into. The boiled shrimp are surprisingly good even for this Louisiana gal. I prefer to have my shrimp on the warm side and their's are served cold but it didn't take away from the flavor.

I had hoped that they would use the Toontown houses and garage somewhere too but I guess not. They should put at least part of them over in the Backlot Tour in Hollywood Studios.

Oh my goodness! I had NEVER noticed the giant peeking into the store before! SO cute! I had to take a double take at the picture to see what the caption meant. Silly me!

I love the new additions to the HM queue. Can't wait to see them myself!

I can't wait to see the new queue at the HM. I most likely will be a single rider, cuz John and Kadence are chicken butts!

Nice mad/sad faces! :rotfl2: Kadence is very upset that the just bulldozed Mickey & Minnies houses! They really could have saved them and put them somewhere!

Lisa, what a fun update. I love the photos of you in front of the no longer Mickey's Toontown. I was not happy about it either.

I love the "giant" in the store...I have never seen that before.

Lisa thank you for saying you would put me on your prayer list! Long story short is a new company was came in to buy ours. They fired most of us. In December I got a call saying that we got our old general manager back and she hired us all back and that the deal was off. Well the deal DID go through and would not take effect until March 1st and they just wanted warm bodies (us) in there to run the place until then. So now we are all out again:mad::sad2:

Now on to the FUN STUFF your sad and mad face are too funny:laughing:

I love the Haunted Mansion and can't wait to see all the new things.

I also love the wishing well. How would you like to have that for a bird bath?

Lacey is the same way about her food touching. My mother bought Lacey two divided Corelleware plates as one of her wedding presents.

Those are cool! My BIL/SIL have a whole set of them!

Love the HM queue pics and the ones in front of the former toontown.

I have seen lots of pics of Cinderella's wishing well but I don't actually think I have seen it in person, where exactly is it?

Isn't the new HM queue so fun?? I love all of the new details that were added!

I always forget to go up to the train station and check out the view from there! I love the Main Street picture from up above!

So Speaking of being sad & mad… Cortlyn looks at me a few days ago and very matteroffactly says "When we go back to Disney, I'm gonna take Catie to Minnie's House!" Take that people who say toddlers don't remember their Disney trip. ::yes:: I had to tell her that they took out Minnie's house and now she wants to know where Minnie lives. :confused3 She was equally sad and mad!

You need to peek into the store (I believe it's Mickey's Traders or something similarly named) to see the giant. Isn't he cute?

Chicken butts! There was a year or two that Lacey didn't want to ride it either. She rode it when she was 11 and then wouldn't go back until she was 13 or 14. Chickens, I say, chickens!

I didn't realize that they totally bulldozed the houses. I thought they had move them behind Main Street and then they magically disappeared.

Lisa, what a fun update. I love the photos of you in front of the no longer Mickey's Toontown. I was not happy about it either.

Mickey's Toontown wasn't anything spectacular but it holds a special place in our hearts since the kids always loved it so much.

The giant is super cute and you need to pop in and see him.

Well, that totally sucks about your job. I will definitely be keeping you on the prayer list. Jobs are hard to come by now-a-days but I will pray that something comes along very very soon. The big guy above hears those prayers and I am sure he's listening.

I thought the same thing....I wanna wishing well as a bird bath! My poor little concrete birdbath has nothing on that wishing well.

Those are cool! My BIL/SIL have a whole set of them!

Love the HM queue pics and the ones in front of the former toontown.

I have seen lots of pics of Cinderella's wishing well but I don't actually think I have seen it in person, where exactly is it?

I wish I had a set of the Correlle divided plates but they aren't cheap. I think they were about $10 a piece which I guess isn't that bad when you have a "food touching" phobia. :rotfl:

If you are standing in Fantasyland, facing the castle, and the carousel is at your back and Mickey's Philarmagic is on your right, take the path to the left of the castle (it comes out near Cosmic Ray's), the wishing well is on that path. It's not very far down the path at all.

Isn't the new HM queue so fun?? I love all of the new details that were added!

I always forget to go up to the train station and check out the view from there! I love the Main Street picture from up above!

Hunter and I loved it! I really appreciate the fact that Disney tries to change things up a bit for those of us who go every year.

The view from Main Street is great. We've watched the parade from there before and we the view was spectacular.

Oh, poor Cortlyn! I agree with you about our toddlers remembering their trips to Disney. Some of Hunter's first memories are of our Disney vacations. Even if they don't remember each and every detail, we parents remember seeing their faces light up and it's well worth every penny I spent to get there.

Now that I've inserted the "missing link" installments, let me pick up from where I started when we finished our yummy Dole Whips so that I can finish up the other missing sections. (You'll remember that I couldn't remember what we did after Mama got to the park and we had eaten our Dole Whips.)

It's kinda hard for Mama to get in and out of attractions that you must step down into or the moving platforms so we asked her if she minded going on the Jungle Cruise. She said that she'd be okay so I walked down the steps first to see how long the wait was. I think it was only about 15 minutes or so, so we got in line and waited our turn to board.

For all of you who have been on the Jungle Cruise, you know that the boats are tied to the dock but they do move back and forth from the dock a bit and, even when you step on the side of the boat, you have a pretty big step down. John got on the boat first and then helped Mama get on the boat which was a little tricky since the boat was moving a good bit. John and the castmember helped her on and once she was settled in, the rest of us boarded. We were the last on the boat so once we were all on board, we were off on our tour. Apparently, I took just two pictures but at least those are a cute little elephant:

102_0527.jpg

102_0528.jpg

When we docked, we were the first off the boat and we did the same thing....John got off first and I stood behind Mama to make sure she was steady climbing out. She handled getting off much better than getting on.

I don't think I mentioned before but Hunter was on a pressed penny mission this trip. At his age, it's hard to find souvenirs for him. He's too old for the toys and he doesn't really give two hoop-dee-doos for shirts or other clothes. So, before we left, I bought two tubes of mini M&Ms, (Hunter ate the contents.) and filled one with pennies and the other with quarters. This made it much easier to dig out the coins when we came upon a pressed penny machine.

102_0529.jpg

The Tiki Room was closed while we were there so we continued on through Adventureland:

102_0530.jpg

102_0531.jpg

And ended up at:

102_0532.jpg

where the wait was a very blurry 20 minutes but we didn't wait that long:

102_0533.jpg

Oh lordy, Mama said. Not another boat! At least the Pirates of the Caribbean boats don't really move when you get into them like the Jungle Cruise boats do.

I won't bore you with too many crappy pictures but just enough to prove we were there. ;)

Mama collects little glass figurines so we walked outside to the little carts just outside the Pirates store to have a look see:
