Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Lovely wedding pictures. Everyone looks so nice.

Is that a dole whip float then? It lloks like it has juice in it. I think if I try another one, I'll go wit hthat, though I am really leaning towards the orange one I've read about.

That is indeed one of the floats. It was scrumpdelicious!

Looks like it was a beauitful wedding!

Think if I walked around with clothespins on, someone would clip a $100 on me??;)

I swear I need to get on that Island! It looks so neat. I also need to try a dole whip. I love pineapple, so it should be good for me!

Ok, I want to know what the happy couple did to get people to pin greenbacks to their clothes? Was that the prize for getting married? If so, I think I need to renew my vows! :lmao:

Everyone looked so nice in all their fancy clothes. Nice family shot of all of you. And that was quite a spread you guys had. If there is one thing southern people know how to do, it's eat! ;)

I cannot believe you have been to Disney so many times and never had a Dole Whip! That's amazing! I'm so glad you finally got one, and loved it!

Loved the SFR treehouse pics. I know a lot of people don't like it, but I think it's kind of neat. I do wish it was more interactive though. I wish you could pull the rope and make the water buckets go up and down and stuff like that. But I still like it. I think it's every kid's dream to have a place like that to play in their backyard.

We rode the Liberty Belle for the first time on this last trip and we got burned too, not by the handrails but the steam pipes. I was standing underneath one of them and kept having scalding hot water drip on me. Like an idiot, I couldn't figure out where it was coming from until the ride was almost over. So I'm making a mental note here that if you can't get a seat in the shade on the boat, then you should find something else to do. ;)

L had my first dole whip this year, trip #15! Thanks to these boards as I never knew about them before. I had the orange float and it was delicious. Now I will get at least one each trip.

Hi Lisa,
Haven't posted in a while but I've been reading along.
I have to ask about the money clipped to the bride and groom - growing up in Vermont at weddings there was a tradition called the dollar dance where everyone would line up to dance with the bride and groom for just a few seconds and give them money (in the old days it was a dollar, now its usually more). The bride holds a basket to put money in and the groom just jams it in his pockets. It was a way to get them started in life with a little nest egg. Was the money clipped to the couple the same sort of idea?
True confession time - I have never had a Dole Whip either  :scared1: My son doesn't like pineapple and since, on our trips, its just the two of us I haven't taken the time to stop and get one for myself but next trip I'm going to make the time to do it!

The Dole whip float is one of my MUST HAVES in Disney!! They are just so refreshing, especially when it is hot! In Disneyland last fall the line was awful on the outside, but if you went in as though you were going to the Tiki Room, you could get one at the back of the stand. It was still a long line, but not quite as bad.

The wedding pictures were great. At least you got some pictures with you IN them this time!! You all looked smashing, especially Lacey. That is a bridesmaid's dress that might actually get worn again, especially with those cute aqua shoes! Mama looked especially nice too, and I love her in red.

The Dole Whip was super good and I can't believe I waited so long to try one. :confused3

The wedding was very pretty and the weather cooperated too. Lacey left the dress at our house and asked if I would sell it on ebay. The shoes were pretty but they were not comfortable at all. None of the girls liked them.

That's a neat tradition! This was a similar tradition. The grooms family started out pinning the money on them and then others follows. Here in the South, normally, there is a Money Tree in the reception area. It is decorated with little bows/flowers/etc. and there are small clips on it. Guests fold up the bills and clip them to the tree and then the bride and groom have money to start their life with.

Looks like it was a beauitful wedding!

Don't we wish! I'd have clothespins all over me if I thought somebody would clip some money on me. I've always said that John better be glad we don't have to rely on my body to make us money 'cause we'd all starve to death.:lmao:

Looks like it was a lovely wedding. :)

It was a very lovely wedding!

I'd renew my vows too if I thought I'd get a few bucks clipped to me. :thumbsup2

I can't believe that we have been to Disney 16 times and never tried a Dole Whip! They were the definition of "yum".

Ouch for being burned by the steam pipes! I don't know why we didn't think about the handrails being hot. They were exposed to the hot Summer sun.

Well, I don't feel so bad about waiting so long to try a Dole Whip since it took you a while too.

:rolleyes1 What building at CBR do you guys usually stay in? Do you do preferred or have special requests? I know I could go back and read but time at work is short this week--so plase forgive me!! :) :rolleyes1

We've stayed in both preferred and non-preferred. When we stayed preferred, we were in Martinique 25 and 26. Once we paid for the preferred location because that's all that was available and the second time we were upgraded free. Those walks to OPR (main pool, food court, store, etc.) were about 2 minutes. We have stayed in Jamaica 41 twice and Jamaica 42 once. The walks to OPR were about 5 minutes at a leisurely pace. When staying in Jamaica or Aruba, you take a short path through the island to get to OPR.

If Mama goes with us, we ask for a ground floor. If she is not with us, we like to change it up and ask for a second floor room.

The bus route varies depending on what entrance the buses use. If they use the side entrance (for buses only), then Jamaica is the first bus stop and Trinidad South (pirate rooms) is the last to be picked up. If they use the front entrance, then Martinique is first to pick up and Barbados is the last.

That dress might come in handy for her on your cruise

Lacey & Jesse aren't going on the cruise portion of the trip with us, just the WDW part. Jesse only has a week off work so we gave them the choice of either go on the cruise or to WDW. They chose WDW!:thumbsup2

Right now, I am as confused as can be. I am looking at my pictures and the next picture show us back at the resort. There's something missing and I am pretty sure it's a big part of our Magic Kingdom day. Uggggh! Why? Oh Why can't I ever just organize my pictures better? I do remember us going back to the resort for a little relaxation but it wasn't immediately after Mama got to the Magic Kingdom. Oh well.....let's pretend that we have had a lovely time flitting from here to there and having the most magical time before we headed back to the resort for a refreshing swim. :upsidedow

I remember that the Jamaica pool had quite a few people in it so the kids decided to walk over to Aruba and see if how many people were there. John and I relaxed on the beach for a while with us both lying in a big hammock and enjoying each other's company. I love that about the Caribbean Beach Resort. It can be booked to capacity and you can still find all sorts of places to relax and feel all alone. :lovestruc Mama decided that it was too hot and chose to stay in her room in the air conditioning and make a few phone calls to her sister to check in on her.

After a while, we walked over to the Aruba pool and found the kids still swimming around like two fish. They love the water! Lacey took two weeks of swimming lessons when she was in the second or third grade. Hunter has never had a lesson and can swim like crazy. I guess it's because we have always had a pool and he's just a natural swimmer. :confused3

We told Lacey and Hunter that they needed to get out so they would have time to shower and get dressed for our evening at the Magic Kingdom and dinner at The Crystal Palace. We went ahead of them and enjoyed the views.

This next picture is blurry but this furry little fellow was around every time we walked down the pathway to our room:

**Sorry this is a short update but I just had the Judge's office call about an adoption we just submitted. Gotta make a few notes but will try to get back and post more.

Don't feel bad, I have missing parts in my memories too. :lmao:

I think you double posted a pic of John....You said you took in the views and then you have a 2nd picture of John...he is a nice view, but I be that wasn't what you meant. :rotfl:

he is a nice view, but I be that wasn't what you meant. :rotfl:

:lmao: You are too much!

I have to agree about CBR. It is such a relaxing place. It feels just like a tropical paradise! Every time I think I have convinced myself to stay at POR, then I see more CBR pics and I want to go back there!!!

Thanks on the CBR info. I may be booking there soon! ;):goodvibes;) As in a day or so!! :yay::yay::yay::yay: Do you think extra time needs to be added for travel since the buses have several stops to make? We have always had only one stop at the resort so that wasn't an issue to consider.

I need to show Keith your resort pictures. It may excite him a little more!

Good short update!! :thumbsup2

I always have those missing periods of time between photos too. Like, I know we ended up in DHS somehow...

Afternoon pool time is the best! It's a great way to rejuvenate for the evening!

Great picture of the kids in the pool. I love the quiet pools at the mod resorts. They are so convenient. I love the pictures with all the pretty pastel buildings in the background! Such a great resort!

All I can see in the blurry picture is what looks like a snake. I'm guessing that's not what you would qualify as a furry friend.

I love hammocks in theory, but I can never slow down enough to actually enjoy one.
