Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Between the DIS and Photobucket, I'm not sure which one has been more annoying lately with all the problems. :headache:

Sorry you had such a long wait at Mama Melrose; we've eaten there several times and I know one time we had a very long wait. But we've always had a good meal and enjoy the atmosphere. I'm curious if you liked your entrees.

Good for Hunter trying something new. We did that to Mark's best friend when we first started dating (although we bet him a "shot"). He ate it, threatened to do us bodily harm and never touched it again. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I've read a lot of posts about the slowness of the Dis lately. I don't know what's up with it. But, the combination of slow Dis and freezing up Photobucket drives me crazy.

I liked the meal at Mama Melrose's and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

:rotfl2: I love to people watch too! It's the best thing to waste time. I just keep remembering the guy with the checked pants you guys saw though the Crystal Palace window. :lmao:

I can't wait to see your reveiw of Mama Melrose. I don't waiting for Fantasmic either, so maybe....

I thought of the checked pants too! I really enjoyed my meal at Mama Melrose's and would go back again....especially for the Fantasmic tickets!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: an update. But do not feel bad...I've been doing the same thing. I love the Hunter story. :thumbsup2

It seems like it takes me forever to get back to my own trip report.

Hi Lisa! Great update! Is this your first time at Mama Melrose? I've never been there before. Hope it was good! Can't wait to hear about it & what you all had to eat!!!

This was our first time at Mama Melrose's. In my opinion, it was really good!

Now you've gone and done it. I didn't have any breakfast this morning (forgot to bring my Fiber One Bar to work), and I am now drooling over your desserts...especially the gelatos.

I'm glad to read you all (mostly all of you) enjoyed Mama Melrose. :thumbsup2

I was thinking the same thing.....those peanut butter and crackers that I had for breakfast don't hold a candle to the yummy desserts we had.

glad to see you are back...I've been checking for anupdate on your TR. I love your pictures by Muppetvision. I do not remember that scrabble board hanging there or Buzz on the roof ...well I've only been there 14 times. Good thing we are going again in 6 weeks!!! yeah!!!!!:cool1:
Anyway hope you liked your dinner at MM we loved it there in Jan and yes we had to wait forever to get in also. That place is small and of course there are not many TS restaurants at DHS anyway.
Get going on the next part of the story will ya:rotfl2:

It was fun writing these last few installments. I needed a Disney pick-me-up and writing helped me out. I would love to be headed to Disney in just six weeks! Unfortunately, we have a little over 5 months before going back. :sad1:

I would definitely go back to Mama Melrose's again because I enjoyed everything that I ordered.

I had hoped to write a little more on the report this morning but the boss has just given me a project to work on. Maybe I can do a little writing this weekend.

Love the food pictures! I've never been to Mama Melrose but i think i will have to try them sometime.

I hate to hear that your trip fell through. I forgot to look and see if you have a new ticker.....did you get to reschedule?

Not yet, it maybe 2013 before we make it back. I'm still holding out hope we can spring a little last min 3 day trip this coming spring.

Hopefully, you can make the 3 day trip in the Spring. If not, then when you go back in 2013, all of Fantasyland should be reopened.

Once we settled our tab at Hollywood Studios, we were given our passes to the golden gate into the Fantasmic theater. I tucked them away in my wallet and off we went to see a few more things before making our way over to the theater.

When I look at my pictures, I see more pictures of Muppetvision 3D. I don't remember us doing it twice but we must have because I have picture proof.

I tried taking non-flash pictures but they didn't turn out very well:

After the show, John and Hunter wanted to go ride Star Tours so we headed in that direction:

100_1221.jpg

Hunter and John hopped in line and, I can't remember why, but there was a reason why I needed to tell them something, hand them something or something and I couldn't get to them. The castmember saw me looking for them and asked me if he could help. I told him that I needed my husband and son and he opened the chain and let me walk over to them. I wish I could remember what it was that I needed them for. Anyway, while I was there, I handed the camera off to Hunter and he took pictures so I could include them here:

While they were riding Star Tours, Mama, Lacey and I were sitting on a bench near Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and people watching. Apparently, though, at some point in time, I went to the restroom because I snapped a picture of the locks on the doors. The name of the company always makes me giggle:

Just in case you can't read it clearly it says Hiny Hiders! :rotfl2: How appropriate!

**Up next: It's a privilege to go this way?

Wow - mega update. More great pictures.

something funny - I never saw the choking picture in your other trip report. Must have missed it, so thanks for posting it. Priceless! :rotfl2:

Hey there, remember me? Just jumping in to say I'm back lurking around and trying to catch up with your whole thread. Lacy's wedding looked beautiful! Is it bad that I was looking at the lady trying to tell you how to do things to see if I knew her? Don't worry… I didn't! :rotfl:

Looks like you guys had a GREAT trip again, and I'm so glad you got one more big family trip before Lacy got married! :)

You are an updating machine today, Lisa.

Love the Muppet and Star Tour photos (LOVED the new Star Tours).

First of all Congrats to Hunter for getting the medal at school!

What a great memory of Hunter and the Green Army Man. I know River would have been so proud if it that was him.

I'm glad you had a good dinner after you finally got in. Looking at all the desserts made me hungary too:laughing:

I like the pictures of all the suitcases in Star Tours somehow I missed them. I'll have to be sure to look for them when we go.

I can't wait to hear what happens at Fantasmic!

I'm with you on the oil and bread....I guess it's an Italian thing....but I don't care for it. I want a big chunk of butter!

It looks like a fun day, but I can tell how hot it is. I know that heat...we had it in Aug too. It does really drain you too.

Call me crazy but I would have preferred having soft spreadable butter instead of the oil. I'm not saying it was bad, it's just a personal preference.

GREAT food porn once again!!!

When it comes to good bread I go further and skip the oil AND the butter. If the bread is really good then you shouldn't have to put anything on it to improve the taste. Like you say......it's a personal thing!

And major Congratz to Hunter!

Oh good grief! My life has been so crazy lately, I've missed a TON of updates! Well, I'm all caught up now and glad to be back.

It looks like you are having a fabulous time...as usual! The Pixar parade looks great....lots of new characters that I haven't seen in parades before. I'm glad Hunter got to meet his movie star!

Sorry about the PIN code fiasco and all the trouble with Disney customer service. It's a shame that a company with a reputation for having great customer service would not be more willing to make things right without so much hassle. Especially with the economy the way it is and with people less willing to just toss around their vacation dollars. :sad2: I hope you get a satisfactory resolution to all the issues.

Great news that John is coping well with all the medication changes. I know how worried you were about that process. Praying that it continues to go smoothly!

Great updates!!!

I love your bonus parade pictures. Especially this one. But when I first looked, I didn't recognize Lotso from the back and thought that was a famous purple dinosaur, but I couldn't figure out what he was doing at Disney.

Great pictures from your Mama Melrose dinner. We did the Fantasmic package there once and really enjoyed our meal. We should try the "bribe you to try something unusual" for our oldest son, who is picky. No problem with the younger one. One of my favorite moments from our trip to Mexico last year was when the 9 year old couldn't choose between the octopus or squid sushi. He wanted both. So my husband got one, he got the other and they split the orders.

Sounds like you guys enjoyed Muppets and some of you had fun on Star Tours.

Between push-ups, choking and rocking out to Mulch Sweat and Shears, you certainly have some great Hollywood Studios memories from your trips!

I'm trying my best to get more mega updates done but can't seem to find the time. Hey....guess what? You leave tomorrow for your trip! I'm so excited for you!

I need to go back and find the other choking pictures. There were quite a few of them and even Mama got in on it.

Of course I remember you! How's that new baby?

It is not bad that you were trying to figure out if you knew the bossy lady at the wedding. ;)

We were super happy to get back to Disney and have Lacey go with us. My dream is to take Lacey and Jesse with us one year so that we can all have fun together.

You are an updating machine today, Lisa.

Love the Muppet and Star Tour photos (LOVED the new Star Tours).

I'm trying! I hope to get another update posted today.

First of all Congrats to Hunter for getting the medal at school!

Thanks for the "congrats" to Hunter. He is very musically inclined and I'm really proud of his accomplishments.

Next time River sees a Green Army Man, see if they will stop for a picture taking opportunity and then let River show off some of his skills. Usually, they will play along.

The suitcases were in the waiting area of Muppetvision 3D and are stacked up on the left side of the room. The suitcases and crates have the cutests sayings on them.

I'm with you on the oil and bread....I guess it's an Italian thing....but I don't care for it. I want a big chunk of butter!

It looks like a fun day, but I can tell how hot it is. I know that heat...we had it in Aug too. It does really drain you too.

We tried the oil but, as you can see in one of the other pictures, we sat the dish off to the side for the waiter to take back with him. It just wasn't my cut of tea.

GREAT food porn once again!!!

When it comes to good bread I go further and skip the oil AND the butter. If the bread is really good then you shouldn't have to put anything on it to improve the taste. Like you say......it's a personal thing!

And major Congratz to Hunter!

Oh I am with you on really good bread. If it's nice and soft, then I'll skip the butter too.

Thanks for the congrats to Hunter. He has done really well in his orchestra class and we are super proud of him.

Missy, I understand being behind. If you'll notice my last update, I said something to the effect of "look at who is here...." and it was me. I hadn't even been on my own trip report.

The pin code fiasco was just that. I went round and round and round with them just trying to find out what the pin code was. They couldn't even explain to me why Mama received a code that wasn't her's. :confused3

I appreciate the continued prayers for John's medication changes. Please keep him in your prayers as we will, more than likely, have to go through more in the near future.

Great updates!!!

I looked at the picture and it DOES look like Barney! I totally missed that before.

I haven't tried octopus yet but I'm pretty open to anything now. In my younger years, I wouldn't have touched it with a ten foot pole.

We do have some great memories of Hollywood Studios. I need to see if I can find a picture of Hunter when he was chosen for Streetmosphere. He was so little and had so much fun.

Hey ya'll! I'm working on a trip report installment now. Keep your fingers crossed that the bossman runs late from lunch so I can get something posted.

As you will recall, Mama, Lacey and I were people watching on a bench near Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. John and Hunter were experiencing the new Star Tours. Ya'll know me and know that there's no way that I can sit still very long without snapping pictures:

Want to see what a Fantasmic Dinner Package ticket thingie looks like? Here you go:

SANY6143.jpg

SANY6145.jpg

For some reason I took this picture. At first, I looked at it thinking maybe I took it because John and Hunter were in it. But, they aren't. So, who knows what I was thinking. Maybe I was taking it to show what the crowds were like?

SANY6147.jpg

Hunter and John met us at the bench and we figured we better to get crackalacking and head towards the Hollywood Hills theater. Even though there was a little map on our ticket, I had no idea where the entranceway was. It's quite a hike from Star Tours to the theater and Mama was already a bit tired by the time we found it. We showed our ticket to the first castmember we saw and started the walk....the long walk.....the longest walk....the uphill walk....the Lord have mercy, this is a long walk walk. Did I mention that it was a long walk?

It was still quite warm out and Mama was getting more and more tired as were the rest of us. Periodically, we'd see a castmember who would ask to see our pass. At one point, we saw a couple of golf carts off to the side and I laughed and told the castmember that they should offer golf cart or trolley rides to the theater.

It was at this point that Mama said something like "we paid for the privilege of going this way?" She had a point. I don't think it was as much a hike from the regular entrance as it was from the golden "ah ah ah" (think Little Mermaid song when she's singing) entrance. By the time we made it to the theater, Mama was one tired 77 year old woman. :faint:

We were directed to the section that was reserved for the Fantasmic dining package. It was a fairly good seat but then again, any seat felt good right about then. As I said, it was still pretty hot so I pulled out a couple of the battery operated fans and gave one to Mama to help cool her off.

Then, we waited for the show to begin:

By this time of the evening, I was looking R-O-U-G-H (a/k/a no make-up, sticky out hair and droopy eyes)!

100_1260.jpg

And, then, we hear the announcement and music and Fantasmic began. I tried taking pictures but most didn't turn out well at all. These are the best of the bad bunch and they are totally out of order since I was using two camera but at least you get a glimpse of the show:

***Need to stop here, I have an attorney's office on the phone. Hopefully, I'll be back to post the last few pictures of our Hollywood Studios day.

Ok, I have a dirty WDW secret to admit. I've been 4 times, and have never seen Fantasmic! :scared1: I'm really hoping to be able to this trip, cause I've always wanted to, just something always came up that kept me from being able to.
