I am loving all the reception pictures. Looks like a fun time and I think your cake looked fabulous!

Skip and Claire did the behind the seeds tour back in 2009. They really enjoyed it. It's right up Skips alley. And Claire loved doing something special with only Dad.

Let me know how the bugs work out. I ordered some lady bugs once but they all flew away after a day. I was very dissapointed.

An entomologist is a zoologist who focuses specifically on the study of insects. OK, so much for the science lesson............

It looks like the tour is a lot of fun. We have never taken any of the tours on our trips, but I may look into one that my crew would enjoy. I don't know about that particular tour because I don't like bugs .

It is hard to believe that you trip was almost 4 months ago . I just don't know where the time goes. It is not too long before I get my Christmas stuff out. I only have 8 more weekends off before Christmas and that includes the weekend of the wedding and Christmas Eve

I said I wasn't going to do the Disney Mom's Panel again this year, but it is just too hard not too....... I can't wait to see what they are looking for this year as it seems to change up a little each year. I too thought the application was a little short, but maybe they are trying to see if we can get our point across without being too wordy.

Lisa, I loved the pictures of the wedding and LA reception! What a beautiful wedding, they just make the sweetest couple.

Also enjoying the Land pictures, I love that ride (even if some people in my family think its boring.). I would love to do that Behind the Seeds tour.

They gave us handouts that gave step-by-step instructions. It was really neat and, of course, the nerdy/scientificy type people in the group were bombarding the tour guide with questions about this and then about that. In the meantime, I was taking pictures:

I'm guessing that those "nerdy/scientificy" type people thought you were a nerd for taking all the pictures. BTW, my wife and I plan on taking this tour next month....mainly because I read about it here! Thanks!!!

The behind the seeds tour looks interesting. I think the kiddo would be bored and scared of all the bugs, but I like seeing that kind of stuff.

My favorite thing to see when riding Living with the Land.....the Nine Pound Lemon! I bet you can get a lot of lemonade with one of those!

You know...you're probably right. I take pictures of everything! I hope that you two do take the tour. It's definitely worth the money to me.

Lacey is usually creeped out by any type of bug but the ones on the tour didn't bother her at all....surprisingly. On previous tours, they gave the kids (we didn't have any in our group this time) little containers of ladybugs that they let them release later in the tour.

I would love to cut into one of the 9 pound lemons. I love lemons!

Thanks for the compliment on the cake. I was happy that Lacey wanted a cake that wasn't all smooth and neat or I'd have been in deep trouble!

I bet Skip did enjoy the tour given the type of farm you guys have.

Thank you so much! We are going to wait until next Spring before we order the bugs. When I spoke with the tour guide about whether or not I'd be wasting my money, she said that so long as there are lots of bad bugs around for the good bugs to combat, they should stick around.

An entomologist! That's the word I was looking for! And, thanks to you, I'll be using it again later in the trip instead of saying "those people who like to study bugs/insects".

It seems like forever since we've been to Disney. But, as you know, I've certainly been kept busy here lately.

You could down the days like I do....weekends. That's the only time I have to get my things together for the next holiday, birthday, trip, etc.

I wasn't sure what to think about the Mom's Panel application. It seemed short but, then again, maybe that will even the playing field during the first round. I am in deep poo-poo if they are looking for somebody who isn't wordy. Ya'll know how I love to talk and talk and talk.

Thank you! We talk with Lacey and Jesse just about every day. They are the sweetest things and know that we probably wonder what they are doing since we can't just pop over and say hi to them.

I love the Living with the Land attraction too. I could go on it over and over again.

I sure hope that I make it past round 1 at least. That'll be better than my previous tries.

Picking back up where I left off on the tour. Our tour guide pointing out the bananas growing in the gardens.

We took a walkway behind the banana trees:

...and I was able to get some close up pictures of the bananas and the blooms:

I asked the guide if they still gave the trees to the elephants at the Animal Kingdom and she said they do. Once the bananas are ripe, they cut the tree down and give them to the elephants. Then they start the process all over again.

This pretty flower was growing underneath one of the trees:

I didn't know it either until we took the tour several years ago. If I am not mistaken, the melons that I spoke about were given to the animals at the Animal Kingdom too.

You really should do the tour. It was very interesting and just the right length to keep everybody interested.

Hey, I learned something from your tour! I never knew avocados grew on trees! (I mean, it makes sense, I just never thought about it that much...but I would have thought they would have came from an avocado shrub or in the ground like a potato )
