Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

^ :thumbsup2 Definitely call DCL and ask them about the options. Heather and Jimmy are taking a cruise for their honeymoon, and they talked to the cruise line for a while due to her physical limitations and needs. The cruise line was able to explain to them everything, and if even providing them with several things she needs to make things easier on her, for free. I'm sure DCL will have options that will make John (and you) feel better about it.

What an exciting possibility! I really hope it works out for you! We're heading on our first Disney cruise next summer (to Alaska) and I can't wait.

That sounds like so much fun! We are leaving out of Port Canaveral the Sunday before Thanksgiving (on Carnival not Disney)! I am so excited!! We have a Disney trip booked for the end of May!:dance3:

Your pictures of the glass ceiling on the Behind the Seed greenhouse tour are really pretty!

Looks like an interesting tour, though it doesn't sound like much when you just read the description on a website.

Oooh, doing a Disney Cruise would be fun and a good first for you since you've been going to Disney for so many years. Years ago I had an interest in doing a cruise, but always thought they were so darn expensive. Then I forgot all about that for many years, until I started reading TR about Disney cruises. Man that sounds fun!

My DW is wanting to do a cruise but I'm not sold on it yet. I have the same reservation about not having enough time in the parks. Hopefully you will be able to "show me the way":). You and your car troubles at least it was just a broken battery cable this time.:thumbsup2

I'm getting a little excited at the thought but I hate that we'd have to limit our time at WDW. That's the part that kills me. I want as many days at Disney as I can get.

That's the only issue I have with taking a cruise, too. Or any other vacation. :rotfl:

I guess I need to get a bit of work done before my boss comes in. For some odd reason, he feels like I should work for my paycheck. What's up with that? :confused3

Seriously....It's so annoying, isn't it???? :rotfl:

Very excited about the cruise! That is so super cool!

I'm sure there is probably a reason, but is there anyway you could stay in Disney a day longer?

I really wanted to do a cruise in June, but since we bought more DVC points we basically spent the cruise money and then some. Oh well. Maybe next year!

Lisa, if you give me your address, I'll send you a 2012 DCL book. I just got them the other day.
And don't do the land sea combo. Book them separately. If a discount comes out for you WDW dates you usually can't use them in the land sea combo option.

I'll email you my address because I'd love to have a book. I was wondering if I could apply WDW special offers to a land/sea package.

Well, Emma cried for a little bit lastnight at bed time and again today at nap time. But not as long as yesterdays nap time! That was insane!!! :sad2: She did finally fall asleep yesterday but only for a half hour. She just needs to get use to it. It's just weird how she went almost a whole week without shedding a tear over losing the paci & then all of a sudden it just hit her! :confused3

Yea, I can see where John is coming from about not being able to get to a hospital. Maybe that is something you can look into. Maybe if something like that were to happen & someone needed to get to a hospital they would send a helicopter. I would definitely call the cruise line & ask about it. I bet it's a pretty common concern! Good Luck!!!

Poor Emma. I sure hope she gets over the paci withdrawals soon. I was lucky in that my kids never took a pacifier so I didn't have to go through that.

I think I may send an email to the Disney cruiseline and see what would happen should John need medical attention during the cruise.

I think I'm going to send an email to Disney cruiseline and tell them our situation. I am sure that we aren't the only travelers who have those type of questions.

oooohhhh! Disney Cruise! I hope that works out for you, sounds like heaven!

Maybe too many exclaimations?

Heck no!!!!!!! You can never have too many exclamations! :lmao:

What an exciting possibility! I really hope it works out for you! We're heading on our first Disney cruise next summer (to Alaska) and I can't wait.

Now that's a cruise I want to take. My daddy had a chance to go to work in Alaksa when I was a little girl and he didn't do it because he'd have to uproot our family. He always regretted not going and wanted to go on a trip to Alaska before he died. His health started to deteriorate when he was a young man, well young to me...about 50, and he never got to go. It's my dream to fulfill my daddy's dream of going to Alaska.

That sounds like so much fun! We are leaving out of Port Canaveral the Sunday before Thanksgiving (on Carnival not Disney)! I am so excited!! We have a Disney trip booked for the end of May!:dance3:

I am anxious to hear how your Carnival cruise goes. I've also looked into a Carnival cruise but think the only way I could talk John into a cruise if we go with Disney.

The cruise sounds like it would be so much fun!! :goodvibes

I know! I'm anxious to see whether or not the cruise pans out for us.

The tour is much more interesting than the "official" description. It's something I'd do again in a couple of years.

The cruises don't seem to be super expensive considering it's pretty much all inclusive. If we go with what I have been looking, we could go on the cruise and then stay at Pop with the dining plan for what we would pay to stay the entire time at the Caribbean Beach Resort.

I'm not totally sold yet either. We really really enjoy a laid back style of Disney vacationing...parks a day or two...rest a day....park a day or two more....rest a day. I am not sure I could do nothing on a cruise ship and shows are not up John's alley.

I swear you'd think I drove a raggedy run down pile of poo for a car with all the troubles we have had lately. Thankfully, it was just a battery cable.

That's the only issue I have with taking a cruise, too. Or any other vacation. :rotfl:

I know! All I can think of when I look at the cruise information is....if we didn't do the cruise, we could be in the Magic Kingdom (or Epcot, etc.)

Seriously....It's so annoying, isn't it???? :rotfl:

I don't know what my boss is thinking? Work for paycheck? :confused3

I'm still on the fence about the cruise. I'm playing around with dates and seeing what I might could adjust travel date wise.

You can go go go on those cruise ships....believe me I know. :cool1:
And if you are doing the 3 night one, time is very limited anyways. You will have pirates night, 2 ports, (where you can do an excursion or 2) and besides the big shows, they have other activities going on at the same time. Games and things like that. I think you will be wishing you had more time.

If you do decide to do the cruise, plan your route to Port Canaveral carefully or make sure to bring about $20 dollars in ones and quarters because the toll roads between Orlando and PC are ridiculous!!! We decided to go to Cocoa Beach, which is past PC before we went to Disney this summer and it seemed like we had to stop for a toll booth about every mile. They were even building more booths!!! We were glad those weren't in operation yet, but I bet they are now. :sad2:

And POP is a great resort to stay at. :thumbsup2

How are the plans coming? What is the verdict on the Cruise?

I hope you are having a well deserved relaxing weekend. You have been super busy for the past few months and I know you are ready for some down time. We are starting to ramp up all the wedding stuff around here; we had a shower yesterday and another one in 4 weeks. The guys all got fitted for their tuxes yesterday and it was hilarious.

Hey....wait a minute....I think I missed replying to a previous post of your's. Didn't you tell me that Madison said to tell Hunter "hi"? If so, I'll pass along the "hi" and I'm sure he'll tell me to tell her "hi" back. It's funny how those two hit it off immediately. He was all goo-goo eyed over her. :lovestruc

Yes, she sure did! It still makes me giggle about the impressions that were made in 15 minutes!

What a great update about the Behind the Seeds tour! Super pictures and a lot of great information. Even a vocabulary lesson!

Love the banana tree photos. They are such beautiful plants. I did not know about the record breaking tomato plant (tree?). That is SO cool!

I know a lot of the tours are for age 16 and up, but you have mentioned little kids with jars of bugs. Do you know if there is an age limit for this?

Can't wait to hear if you end up booking a cruise or not.

I don't think I could get John on a cruise ship for longer than the 3 night cruise. I am not a "sitter" and like to be doing something all the time. John, on the other hand, would be perfectly happy to sit on a beach somewhere.

Oh my! We never take the toll roads because we once got on one and then ended up getting turned around and went back through the same toll booth 3 times. I have no idea how we got so turned around. :confused3

Not fair. I have been on a cruise and have been to WDW, but never on a disney cruise. Jealous you say??? yes, yes I am.:lmao:

Well, you've got me beat 'cause I haven't been on a cruise at all. ;)

And POP is a great resort to stay at. :thumbsup2

If we were to do the cruise, we may have to end up staying at a value resort and I'd probably choose Pop. we have visted the resort before and enjoyed our visit there.

I'm not so sure where the plans are. I'm still looking into it but am not quite sold and neither is John.

It is nice to actually sit down for a while and not wonder "what's the next task I need to do". Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed planning the wedding decorations, receptions, etc. but I'm certainly not missing it either.

Yes, she sure did! It still makes me giggle about the impressions that were made in 15 minutes!

I thought I remembered the "hi" post but didn't see it when I did replies. I think those two were smitten from the minute they laid eyes on each other.

The tomato tree amazed me. I love tomatos and would have been perfectly happy sitting right underneath it and snacking while the others went on the tour.

I don't think there's an age limit on the Behind the Seeds tour. Hunter was 9 (I think) the first time we did it and I remember kids about 5 on one of the tours.

Hey everybody! I hope you all had a great weekend. I've had a headache the entire weekend....not just a little headache but a pounding headache. I have had migraines my entire adult life and some have been pretty bad but this one's been a doozie! I told John I'm surprised I haven't gotten a stomach ache from all the meds I have taken and the lemon juice I've been sipping on (John's neurologist said lemons are a natural antihistamine). To tell you how bad it's been, I took a nap Friday afternoon and yesterady afternoon. I never ever take naps.

Pounding headache notwithstanding, we went to see Lion King 3D Saturday night. I had forgotten how cute the movie was and found myself singing along with several of the songs. Hunter and I made bets before the movie on how quickly John would fall asleep and.........

.....he didn't fall asleep once! Can you believe it? The man can fall asleep anywhere and at the drop of a hat. That just goes to show you how good the movie was. :thumbsup2

My goal, tomorrow, (besides continuing to try to knock out this migraine) is to get an update posted and maybe even two. See ya'll tomorrow!

Headaches suck. I had a small one on and off all weekend and it was pretty annoying, so I can only imagine how bad you must have felt.
